  • The 1st charter in over a year inside a wrapped LRV sponsored by Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys. Our car was 9093. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) Elmwood shop has done a wonderful job wrapping the car to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Elmwwod yard to house the then new fleet of 112 Kawasaki subway surface line cars which opened up on September 15th, 1981. LRV 9093 entered service on November 10th, 1981. The wrap has photos of Elmwood depot/district throughout the years.
The current Elmwood facility replaced the Woodland car house after a fire broke out and destroyed it on October 23rd 1975.
It’s also the 41st anniversary of the 1st prototype 9000 which was delivered in July 1980 and entered service on October 10th, 1980 route 11.

The original plan was to have PCC II 2332. But the GM at HQ told us no 3 days before the excursion. Something that was way outta our control.
