    I'm not surprised. For the last 1-2 years I was in a band I used the Electro-Harmonix 44 Caliber pedal power amp with my modeler in to a Mesa 4x12. I was competing with the volume of a drummer, bass player and 2 other guitar players. The other 2 guitar players had tube amps, Engl Savage and an EVH 5150 (50 watt). I had plenty of volume and I thought the 44 Caliber was pretty clean sounding, just turned the bright switch on. Good time to be a guitar player.

    I love your channel Jon. Always awesome sounds. 👍 I already bought the TKIY booster from Lichtlaerm because of your video and it replaced my TS9DX as boost in front of my JMP-1. So, I will do it also with this pedal. It's a very handy and good sounding solution for my analog preamps. Keep on rocking!

    I saw someone in the comments mention using a similar pedal from This Heavy Earth Pedals. I notice that the control layout, electrical specs, and overall functions are the same as this pedal. Other than the pedal from This Heavy Earth having mini pots for the presence and depth controls. And its about $25 cheaper. I wonder if they could potentially be the same pedal with different graphics? Like how some companies will have license agreements to sell the same or similar products with their names on them.
    A cool comparison video showing the internals of these pedals would be very interesting.
    Either way, I liked your video. Your tone sounds great as always!

    Holy F... this is exactly what I was looking for... a year ago. But I might still get it. I now have a Amptweaker Depthfinder (for presence + resonance knobs) into a Mooer Depth Bomb (30watt power-amp pedal). It gets fed by a Victory tube-preamp amps.
    I've been looking for a 'poweramp simulation' (kind of sag, presence + resonance, impedance curve) but in the analog domain. There are some preamp pedals that have something built in, but finding it standalone ahs proven difficult. I have given up on it so now I have a digital poweramp sim + IR at the end of my chain to go into a FRFR cab, and haven't used my normal guitar amp since. This might kick it back into action :). Hughes & Kettner Stompman is also on the list though (you did a video on that as well :)).

Can it be connected directly to a mixer or soundcard or does it have to be connected to an amp or cabinet to get the best sounds? For exampke, could I connect it to my Roland Jazz Chorus to get better distortion with my other pedals?

    What is more useful than the power rating is its dB. A dB meter is as cheap as $25.00 USD on AliExpress including shipping. If the amp can hit 95dB it will keep up with a drummer in a Rock trio. Anything but dB with a type C amp means nothing.

    Would it be correct to assume that this pedal does NOT do the power amp OD thing but is pure clean power over the entire volume range? i noticed that there is no gain knob and that you played it on 2 the whole time so that's where my assumption comes from...I'm one of those louder(tonally) is better apologists so for me the preamp od always plays a support role for the power amp od. imho there is really NO excuse for a pedal power amp or solid state amp or whatever to not simulate the sound of a cranked power section and have a separate gain control to set it how you want...just my 2 cents... sounded good though

      You're just a hack and a crazy one at that.
      If you want power tube distortion, get a tube amp and an attenuator.
      These are class D power amps, they are not meant to clip, why would you want your class D power amp to have its own distortion circuit? You make no sense and that would just be stupid to make.

    • @JohnWiku

      Your asinine comment just tells me you understand nothing about what you just babbled about.
      This is a class D power amp, these are meant to be CLEAN.
      You're just throwing random terminology that doesn't apply to this type of product.
      If you want TUBE power amp distortion, you need to get it LOUD, so to deal with it, get a tube power amp, crank it and use an ATTENUATOR.

      The thing is Class D doesn't "sound" like anything on it's own which makes you think it sounds bad. If you see Class D technology as a blank canvas to build a good sounding circuit on you can make devices with Class D in them sound great - it's a lot of additional circuitry and work, tho!

    • @Guitarman007
      @Guitarman007 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@danielringl8501 No... your head is stuck in the Tube Amp paradigm. There is no law that states EQ must be on the preamp. Indeed there are other power amp pedals that include Bass Mid Treble.
      If I'm using analog pedals in front and they have good EQ control or I have an EQ pedal, I'm good, but with a modeler or profiler (which I'd be using), it's a pain in the ass to access those controls, and often just want a quick set of main knobs to ensure the overall tonality is quickly adjusted for all tones to adapt to the room. This was a miss if they wanted to make life easier for folks using modelers or profilers.

    • @JohnWiku
      @JohnWiku หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Guitarman007rename the presence control to TREBLE, rename the resonance control to BASS, you're just "missing" a mids control.
      Just to educate yourself a bit further, check the difference between traditional Fender or Marshall type "TMB" passive tone stacks, versus other types of tone stacks, especially the active type.
      I don't know what type of tone stacks they are using here, but a "2 knob" active baxandall EQ can be more powerful at shaping tone than a "3 knob" Fender/Marshall passive EQ.

    • @Guitarman007
      @Guitarman007 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JohnWiku Yeah, I'm aware and yes always possible, but when he was demo'ing the controls I heard more difference in the high end than the low end, which means the low end is likely very low, probably similar to the Depth control of my Fryette Power Station. While it's great to have, it's not quite the range of low end I usually need to accommodate differences in room environments, but wouldn't know till I tried, but def need that mid control to quickly adjust while I'm playing if necessary.
