Am I the only one that wishes Ariana would enunciate more? I completely agree that she has a good voice, but it is so frustrating to me how hard it is many times to understand the words she is singing. In this song, for example, Whitney's voice was powerful, but also clear. You always knew every word. With Ariana, it always seems like she's got something muffling her diction and you can't clearly hear the words. It just frustrates me when I listen to her. I feel like the mom in Gypsy, and want to yell, "SING OUT ROSE!".
This was her Dangerous Woman era and that was a big thing in music back then (even till this day) I wonder how Georgia will react to SZA. She should react to her Natural Woman cover from Jimmy Kimmel.
I love when people cover Whitney and Mariah songs - even singers who are genuinely really good in their own right (ie Ariana) just can’t compare and you realise just how hard their songs are, and how easy they both make it seem (when it very much isn’t)
I really wish Ariana did more disco style songs because it's really suits her voice. She is one of the few artists currently who has the vocal agility of artists like Whitney. P.S. people please remember this performance has been pitched higher than the actual performance to avoid copyright.

You gotta remember this is like 2015 or something, she's matured so much vocally in the last couple of years. But you probably know that if you've seen her 2021 performances.
Her diction is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. Her techniques are good but if I did not know the song I could not understand what she is singing. She's a great vocalist, but her style of singing is not for me. I can't tell if she's trying to sing breathy or she is breathy. She has notes for days, but her style singing like Marilyn Monroe is disappointing , especially when can really SING!
Loved this performance! The arrangements Ariana performed to for both of these songs are based on remixes from Whitney's 'Whitney: The Greatest Hits'. For "How Will I Know" it's the Junior Vasquez mix and for "Queen Of The Night" it's the CJ Mackintosh mix.
She has a great, bright higher soprano voice, but just does not have the low end and base like Whitney did - very few do. Only ones who come close are Pink, Christina Agulera, Demi Lovato, and JHudson - Ariana is still quite young, so it will be interesting to hear where her voice goes in her 30s. And I say this as a TRAINED, Mezzo-Soprano, ranging from low B2 to high E6. I come from a family of vocalists, and inherited my mum's 4-octaves!
If you can hit E6 how can you be mezzo? And by the way I really love so much Demi but I didn't like her at all in her rendition of I will always love you
The problem with Ariana is her voice is so light, thin and tinny, there is no soul or believable emotion or connection to the lyrics. These songs don't suit her.
I understand it's a tribute and that's really cool, but compared to the original version, these copies played by so many young singers are really embarrassing. The talented and incomparable Whitney Houston has always been careful, flawless and perfect with vocals in her live performances, a talent she lost only at the end of her career for reasons we all know.
