Thanks Terry, that really is a great workshop, all your hard work over the last year or two has certainly paid off ! It's nice that it is fairly accessible too, it's easy to enter an arms race of high end gear but if something is good enough for your needs then it's good enough by definition, it's too easy to get dissatisfied watching TH-camrs with massive high value workshops and think you need the same ! You mention that your Dad was a carpenter, what does he make of your workspace, I feel sure he must be impressed and also pleased that you are practical and creative too !
Hi Terry, Wow!! your workshop looks great and full of good accessories and tools and good lay out. It has come on well from when you were boarding the walls and fitting the electrics. Good workshop lighting from the LED panels. I agree with a good solid workbench and when I build my Island workbench next spring, I will be using 4"x 4" or 10 cm x 10 cm as legs I will be using fence posts as legs and a full sheet of ply about 8'x 4' or 2.4 m X 1.2 m as the work top. Look forward to your next video As always a great video, Take care
Hi Shaun, As always, thank you for taking the time to comment. Believe it or not but those 4x4 legs were really cheap, they were offcuts from our local timber merchants. They often have pieces that size which they can’t sell so worth checking with your Local timber yard mate.
@@Terrythemaker Hi Terry, thanks for the tip we got a few timber merchants near me, the fence posts were from my parents home back in the summer me and my brothers replaced a few 7 ft fence post as the were nearly rotten so I' have cut the rot off and the rest of the posts are solid. catch you soon
Gracias por mostrar tu taller,.Esta muy bien organizado y me gust,a pues se parece bastante al mio, al tener maquinas iguales o parecidas. Te copiare algunas ideas..🤗🤗
Great to see a tour of the workshop, looks great. Why are concrete floors in the UK always so bad? I self leveled mine and finished with second hand carpet tiles, I have to say it's really nice to work on.
Someone else asked me that the other day. when we was in lockdown the drill broke and BOSCH asked me to return just the head unit, rather than the whole thing so they could repair it. They didn’t repair it and sent me back a whole new drill hence now having two bases and I can’t bring myself to throw it away, it’s very handy on long pieces of timber because I can rest it on both 👍🏼bases
@@Terrythemakeryou’ve got me interested in a camvac to replace my wet/dry vac. Does that cope with fine dust (saws) equally as well as bigger ‘chips’ from the thicknesser?
@ Hi Chris I use mine on the lathe when sanding because that produces very fine dust when I’m sanding to 400/600 grit , I also use it on my thicknesser with big chips and it copes well, I love mine, as I say i went back and bought another one, I recommend the 2 motor model though, you might be able to see it working on some my earlier Woodturning videos
Hi Barry, it’s not always that tidy, you should see it at the moment. It’s in a bit of a mess 😂, but to be fair, I’m just like that with everything, I can’t function unless everything is neat and tidy, it’s probably some form of OCD 😂

Proper tidy👍🏼
Hi Terry I think the router jig and how you use it deserves its own video 👍🏼
I did a quick video on it about 3 years ago, but you are right I should do a full video and will try to do another one 👍🏼

I’m considering doing something similar, but the thought of moving out all the benches etc 😂
Great tour thank you. Curious why the second drill press base? (I’ve got the same drill).

Awesome, how do you keep it so tidy 😂
