Aleksi, great interview! Your videos are becoming a public service for Finland and its citizens, in my opinion! It is very easy to identify personality traits in Malak's narrative that show she would succeed anywhere. She is a confident and competent person (speaks English really well and knows how to approach a challenge and how to adapt her strategies along the way). I completely understand when she says we have to stay clear from negativity, specially from other foreigners. She is strong-minded and focused and also has a mindset of "where can I fit in so I can contribute and make a difference?" more than "where can I find any job, live my life and take advantage of this country to myself?". If we make the right questions, we get the answers that we want. Kudos Aleksi and congratulations Malak for you journey. That was pure SISU right there!✌️
It is a lovely, positive video. It would be very helpful to hear someone's story in the next video, who isn't working with English language and has an entry-level position. It would be a great video to say that entry level positions actually exists. Every matchmaking event (for students, juniors) ever has the paradox of either looking for a highly skilled 10+ years of experience expert or at least native language skills in Finnish. Good beginner skills and achievements and work placement references are good for a nice "unfortunately not this time" answer. Prove me and many others have been just accidentally applying to the wrong places for months or years. :D Unfortunately, a good Finnish doesn't seem to be enough in any field, the native level is expected. Even in fields where the technical terms are in English. Unless someone has 5-10 years of amazing work experience behind him/her.
I am a nurse in Philippines 10 years ago and moved to Finland. Studied 10 months for extra credit units and now I am a finnish nurse. Nursing job is easy to find once finnish certificates/valvira registration is done.
I lived in Helsinki (Malminkartano) for over a year a few years back and I might have stayed longer if I could have found work there. My girlfriend didn’t like London (she’s Finnish) and I struggled with the language in Finland so working there is not easy even if you speak English. London, uk.
what CV format did Malak use? was it a europass cv? or another format? and was her CV in english or in Finnish? Can you please find out from her? Or if Malak is here, I would appreciate if she maybe able to answer, as I am from UK and I have a swimming teaching certificate but due to language barrier I cannot proceed further in Finland although my teaching certificate is internationally recognised and is accepted. I did pass a trail day with UH swimming school company two years ago but due the company running limited english spoken swimming classes two hours a week that amount of work would not bring me enough income every month. Right now I am attending a finnish language course where te toimisto has forwarded me towards, it is going great and I should have started the course before (I have now been living in Helsinki for two over years). But yeah if you can kindly find out for me the answers to my questions or if Malak is a follower and is seeing this I would really appreciate the answers. Kind Regards. Hyvä viikonloppu! 👍
Aleksi Himself - Videos about Finland to be honest if we can get this info from Malak it would save some time as the format Malak has used in the several job applications have at least received attention and have had a response already which says a lot about it. But another video on the subject on CV formats itself and which are known to be successful or acceptable in Finland and the language on the CV would be very educational to your followers. 👍
15:13 try to learn it on your own through the internet. You have to focus on expanding your vocab. Use deepL and translate stuff from finnish to english. Learn phrases, instead of building words from scratch. You do this, you'll get fluent in 1 year. Good Luck!
Terve, olen Indonesiasta.

Really interesting video. One thing that does seem a little strange and this is by no means an insult, but Malak's level of English is not what I'd consider good enough to actually teach with. She got lots of the tenses wrong whilst speaking to you, odd word choices etc. I wonder how that works in Finland, in regards to the proof she needed that she was competent?
@Ben Somes Yes, I agree it would be easier. Its just an interesting observation i thought. And obviously I speak (currently in England) to native speakers like me and they can't speak proper English either, so being non-native isn't a problem.
@@AleksiHimself Agree qualification wise overly so, but i was only questioning how well that has translated into her being able to actually use the language properly to allow her then to teach that to others. If this has come across as mean it isn't meant to be, just as I said an interesting observation when it comes to getting an English teacher role. It does show that getting a job there is not impossible so still really interesting video.
@@MoltenArmour Some native speakers if not most make sooooo many mistakes while writing emails talking etc. I noticed while communicating with clients. It dosent mean they are good.
I am also an English teacher, but dont have my Masters yet, and I come from a non-Eu country. So in order to teach English in Finland (not that Finns need to learn English, maybe just kindergartens), what do I need to have? A masters degree or a degree from a Finnish uni? ( I am aware that an already existing EU residency permit helps, but thats just not I have right now)
Hey Aleksi! how are you? I have a question.. in Finland do you prefer picture in your cv or not? Do you used to "europass" model? thank you! For you i mean: you all Finnish.
Every time I ask for advice about this on Reddit and other places, I'm always hit with so many people telling me that I will never find a job, and especially because I'm looking for a tattoo artist position, I've got basically no chance. There's just so much negativity everywhere. But at the same time, there was this English bartender I met in Helsinki, and he told me he barely speaks any Finnish and he knows plenty of tattoo artists who are the same. Idk what to believe to be honest.
Do you mean you will never find a job in Finland? Tbh, people on Reddit tend to be pessimistic and do not necessarily have the knowledge of specific fields. But that got me thinking: maybe you can reach out to the tattoo shops in Finland directly, and ask their opinion on the matter? They know best the market situation of their field. Use Google to find the places and see if you can find the entrepreneur's email on the website. Worth trying at least.
Finland has 2 problems, in my opinion, aging and finding a job, I lived in Joensuu and I must say it's impossible to find a job there in English, I change my place to Tampere, and find a job it is not very well job but it can handle life's coast, Finnish people nice kind shy and don’t like to talk or communication in another language,(if you go anywhere with none speak English language you may have the same problem), Finding job is really really really hard, I registered in different websites and try to find proper job), be positive and search and go any where, do, t be upset and try your best, and try to learn Soumi Kieli, best of luck for every one
