We have country rock, country pop and even what I consider country soul, which is what category this Drake White song falls in. I like this country soul, even though I am somewhat of a purist. Country music has always been a fusion of sorts. I can hear the blues and jazz influence in Willie Nelson. We live in an exciting time for music and we shouldn't judge the fusions we don't like too harshly. There's plenty of music to go around.

Just goes to show this younger generation that good pop country doesn't have to sing about rap references and jacked up trucks that you drive around in the suburbs. Saw Drake White and The Big Fire at Stubb's in Austin last week. I know his music and I've always digged his sound, but wow was I impressed. Vocals...immaculate. Persona... extremely likable. Energy...amazing. This guy has it all. If country music can ever get out of their own way, they have a star on their hands right here. If not, well I'll still be a fan all the same
