因為疫情今年的聖誕節變得不一樣了😷回不了家的我在台灣找回聖誕節！| Can't go home for Christmas...Finding Christmas Spirit in Taiwan!

今年沒辦法回加拿大跟我家人過聖誕節，所以這支影片我要帶你們跟我一起在台灣找回聖誕節的感覺！我們布置聖誕樹、裝聖誕襪、還有手做我最喜歡吃的nanaimo bars!

Nanaimo bars食譜:
Bottom Layer
½ cup unsalted butter
¼ cup sugar
5 tbsp. cocoa
1 egg beaten
1 ¼ cups graham wafer crumbs
½ c. finely chopped almonds
1 cup coconut
Melt first 3 ingredients in top of double boiler. Add egg and stir to cook and thicken. Remove from heat. Stir in crumbs, coconut, and nuts. Press firmly into an ungreased 8" x 8" pan.
Second Layer
½ cup unsalted butter
2 Tbsp. and 2 Tsp. cream
2 Tbsp. vanilla custard powder
2 cups icing sugar
Cream butter, cream, custard powder, and icing sugar together well. Beat until light. Spread over bottom layer.
Third Layer
4 squares semi-sweet chocolate (1 oz. each)
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
Melt chocolate and butter over low heat. Cool. Once cool, but still liquid, pour over second layer and chill in refrigerator.

Good luck to you all, Happy New Year to you! I am happy for you that you have a baby girl! It is wise to stay at Yilan, Taiwan, my wife's native town. The town is quiet and people are very gentle and friendly. I wish I could be there! Every thing in Ohio just is not the same as it used to be. None trust any body. I do not know how much well the vaccine work. I will take it in February.

For the last step (chocolate and butter layer), try to use a spatula. A spoon is harder to spread the chocolate evenly. I had same problem at the first time.

U R not missing much, back to stage 2 lockdown again with no clubs, large Christmas performances and movie theatres closed until next month, so no Wonder Woman 1984 for us too. Vancouver Island also had wind storm this week and 40k lost power. At least our daily case count is down to 400-500 range now, we’ve been stuck at 700-800+ daily. Lucky our numbers are still low compared to Ontario and Quebec, but I doubt we will ever get to Taiwan numbers. Stay safe and healthy too all + remember to support your local restaurants by ordering to go.

將來你的兒子出世後，你帶你兒子台灣和加拿大兩邊住，例如兒子學校放假了帶他回加拿大跟外婆住幾個月。這樣有助於小孩接觸英語文化。
