Ideiglenesen Magyarországra érkezett, a Magyar Honvédség Embraer C-390 Millennium kéthajtóműves, hátsó rámpás kialakítású katonai szállító repülőgépe. Az itt tartózkodás során, műszeres teszt repüléseket hajtottak végre.

Probably the best looking modern military cargo plane. Small correction: I believe it is actually a KC-390 as the HDF ordered both their planes with air-to-air refueling capabilities, both for their Gripens and between Milleniums.
Yes. Two KC-390s were ordered. We Hungarians are surprised that the company itself changes the designations C-390 and KC-390. We only use the latter.
An impressive innovation is a military plane that transports cargo and air refuels in one day. And 4 operating tables that can be opened. An amazingly versatile machine.

I hope this plane wins the Indian Air Force contract for 80 Medium Transport Aircraft. They've already partnered with India's Mahindra Group to offer it to the IAF. Even if 80 of these are initially assembled in India, some of the parts suppliers from existing supply chain of Embraer will stlll benefit a lot from it. As I understand it, total orders for C-390 till date stand at around 40 planes. So 80 more for India is a massive bump up.
Plus, this will be the second military transport plane assembly line in Indian private-sector in recent years after the TATA signed up Airbus to make the C-295W here for the Indian Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard.
With two Indian industrial giants: TATA and Mahindra, both gaining experience in manufacturing military transport planes, it'll act as a stepping stone for a future where an Indian designed plane to replace the Il-76 will become possible. Transport planes are the last aircraft type that are still being imported in India. Jets and helicopters are all Indian designed these days. So it will be great if this last gap is also filled with help of Embraer.

Embraer recently came up with the idea of setting up points for transporting and launching missiles. I believe that today it is one of the most complex and technological aircraft in the world. Many countries have shown interest in it: India; Saudi Arabia; South Korea; Netherlands; Austria; Portugal; Colombia; Chile

The aircraft still has a brazilian call sign. Its performing some tests there, probably NATO equipment, so these tests must be made inside NATO territory with NATO pilots. Then it will return to Brazil for final tests and then delivery
I think the native standard equipment must have already been tested with the 390 from Portugal. More likely if something specific to Hungary, such as a communication system and data encryption. Or Hungary uses some NATO equipment different from Portugal.

This is not yet the reception of the plane by the Hungarian Air Force, the markings are covert by black tape and the plane will get the NATO equipment require for it operation by the Hungarian military.
After that the plane returns to EMBRAER to the final phase of the delivery to be set to this second semester of 2024...

It's actually KC-390 And not C-390 There are differences The C-390 does not have the aerial refueling system, that tip that looks like an antenna The KC-390 has the system

It's wrong Every KC-390 has that aerial refueling cable and every C-390 doesn't. Take a look at South Korea's C-390 and Hungary's KC-390

@@paulo.s.kennedy The “antena” is the probe of its refueling sistem that’s not what make its a tanker that’s what allowsit to be refueled in the air the korean opted for the lance refueling this one can be turned in a kc but it’s not a K in its present config

It is great to see wonderful aircraft from the ' smaller ' but execellent SAAB and Embraer . The Gripen is a wonderfully compact fighter and the KC-390 will give the 'big' boys a run for their money .
