I'm getting addicted to these vids... Clever technology explained in a clear, fun way by the designer himself. Love it!

Very good explanation. Basically the S12 is a total sum of all that was learned since the B&W Nautilus. So you are getting a little 2 way Nautilus speaker for £6k with better performance in terms of the overall sound. Bass is pretty good for something this size too. It's a real wonder. I use a pair for near field monitoring of our recordings and they are a very transparent view on the recording.

Awesome video and Vivid technology! Thanks! S12 is my favourite monitor speaker.

It's an outstanding small speaker for sure. I wouldn't call it one of "high-end hi-fi's best-kept secrets," because Vivid Audio is popular enough. But probably not enough people have listened to it yet.

At a hi-fi show earlier in spring I had the fortune to listen to the Kaya 12. What a delight! It was by far the most neutral and transparent loudspeaker I head. Outplaying big speakers from Avant-garde, Stenheim and Magico. By the way the Stenheims were roughly 20 times as expensive if I am not mistaken. The small Vivid’s doesn’t really possess deep bass but beyond that they sound like a hyper transparent open view to the performance and on top of that they are devoid of harshness and freedom of annoying sibilance, which seems to be the curse of almost all other speakers. Wonderful product.

It is truly a great loudspeaker. Like you say, limited bass. But enough bass for some and extreme transparency through the rest of the frequency range.

@@dougschneider8243 Regarding bass I think the important thing is to match the loudspeakers bass roll of to the room the same way a headphone is adjusted to the ears. A speaker with a high system resonance will match perfectly with a small listening room with stiff walls where room gain will compensate for the falling response of the speaker. Big room need big speakers small rooms need small speakers. Happily not the opposite 😃.
Thanks for a great video and greetings from Denmark

Some other manufactures charge way more and use simple mdf cabins.
