Seeing Yuuki-san go to the aquarium made me remember when I also went there 10 years ago. I couldn't remember if I saw the reptile and jungle area, but there were no penguins too😂 Maybe it's too hot in Manila, so they can't be taken care of here😢 I went to a university near Intramuros, so I also went to Casa Manila as a student! The security guard there joked that he could hear sounds at night in the ancestral house👻 The antique mirror you showed is quite eerie but they were items for the elite or rich people at that time. It makes you think what kind of people looked at that mirror since centuries ago. 11:58 It's an illustration of Quiapo in 1904. Quiapo is like old downtown Manila. It's a district a few kilometers away from Intramuros (where you explored) but still in the same city. There's a church in Quiapo that is always busy with devotees, a different vibe from the churches you went to. Quiapo is currently a bustling area filled with businesses, from vegetable vendors to electronics and fortune telling🔮 If you decide to go there, please be very careful of your belongings😅 The souvenir illustrated prints you bought are great, and the bookmark would remind you of your time in Manila😊 The bookmark says "botica" = 薬屋! Aquariums and zoos in the Philippines I've notice are usually outdoors or at least many areas are outdoors. I went on one that had a bird and butterfly sanctuary in an enclosed garden. If you are interested, there are other historical places with similar vibes to Intramuros but they are outside Manila. One I recommend is Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar (Quezon City), the nearest one. It is best to visit at the afternoon or evening because of they light up the area. There is also a Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan (this one in far and more pricy but more bigger & immersive). Lastly, Vigan that one is the most accurate with little to no replica houses meaning they are original buildings from colonial times because all the buildings there survived WWII.
