hello from the province of Pontassieve, in Florence, Italy, I have a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with m13a 1.3 LT petrol engine, 2001, all original, which I use for off-road on rural and forest roads, and I see that my Suzuki Jimmy 4x4, even if ! it is original in the countryside, on the dirt roads of rural farms and on the forest roads where loggers often take the wood from the forest with their forest tractors, skidders and forwarders, it feels very good on these tracks, even if it is all original and not ready for extreme off-road, but with the right mud tires it copes very well with off-road and forest roads, even in the presence of mud !
I have recently acquired a Samurai that has a lot of nice mods, sadly one of those mods was a broken piston skirt so I'm in the process of getting that fixed. Definitely my all time favorite 4wd.
That's unfortunately a G13BA thing. Cylinders bores wear oval and the pistons start rocking. I did a complete rebuild on mine before I swapped it out for the G16A
Guys, well done on producing some quality local offroading content. Great camerawork and editing. If I have to see one more tannie recording pappa se fortuner going over a speed bump in portrait I might just lose it. Keep at it. Cheers.
Thanks Todd! I'm quite happy with the overall build of the Zook and for it's intended purpose. Just needs a few more small things to make it that much better
happy new year from Italy Florence !!!! Too bad that suzuki italia no longer emits the clearances! (to homologate all modifications such as raising the Jimny with higher shock absorbers and suspension and higher tires and heavy duty front and rear bumpers and the winch and snorkel the air filter extension! and all the various modifications!
Sure wish ya could get those Sammys . I miss my 87 !. No sack on the Highway but could take me fishin where only Quads could go . I luv my Baja Bugs too but here on the right coast they look at ya like a nut . Enjoy the wheelin Boys an thanx 4 upload
The strongest set-up is 4.57 gears in differential THEN get 4.16 gears for the transfer case.Never go 4.88 the teeth get fragile on the pinion: Fact. I have been working on these unstoppable little beast since the early 90's. =p
Gday Hendri. Just wondering if you had to change the transfer case to get the 4.16 gearing? I've read about blokes changing to sj410 or widetrack cases to get the gearing they wanted, but haven't yet worked out if the sj80 case can be re-geared. Cheers
I really love the look of the samurai... would you recommend it as a daily driver as well as a mild offroader? (I live in a rual area with lots of gravel roads, but about an hour away is a city (techanally a town but 30k people is a lot for me lol) and I think its a nice, cheap car, to learn how to drive in. But judging as its old i'm thinking lots of maintenance, and lots of gas refills. Is this correct?
They're great little 4wds but even the latest model is already 25+ years old now. I would rather look into the Gen3 Jimny if you're going to use it for daily driving. For a 2nd vehicle, definitely
This Suzuki small Offroaders are cheap to repair. They are also so simple that they rarely brake down unless you do something really extreme. Have an 89 Suzuki Vitara (gen 1), it is very reliable and cheap to operate. Though little vehicle.
Hendri Mouton Hey, sorry for many questions but, what is the wheel size and offset, I assume they are 15x7 as most of the modular designs tend to be? Did you need any bumper trimming? I have a VVT gen 2 jimny, looking to fit BFG KO2s 215/75r15 on 15x7et-15 modulars with 2" lift, trying to figure out if they will rub, getting mixed opinions, many saying the wider offsets catch under articulation. Thanks
A question, I am trying to get a wrangler but to expensive toy, I like the Samurai too, but I am concerned about to find the parts to updated and off road, is easy to find parts like the Jeep wrangler?
I was interested in buying a Samurai as a toy but ended up getting a tracker because it was very cheap (1k) and that allowed me to add a ton more mods. At this point depending on your location Samurais are hard to find
Bro does your samurai has power steering...if so please let me know...here we call it gypsy..mine is a gypsy king model... thinking of installing power steering in my gypsy.. thanks
Netjies manne, ek like dit! Ek hou ook van so explore. Jy moet n paar lexus pelle nooi vir so n trippie man! Die groot goed sit maklik vas en maak vir beter aksie, en die soundtracks is beter :)
Hey does anyone have suggestions for tire size for a 01 Suzuki xl7 with 2" suspension lift or if I should add a 2" body lift then worry about tires I'm running 31 buckshots now
That's a tough one. These would be pretty close when stock but the Samurai is slightly lighter which is good for soft sand and mud. The Jimny has more power but the low gearing on the Samurai is slightly better. Jimny has a better suspension setup from factory and the power steering makes a big difference when the tyres are deflated.
En serio van a comparar un samurai totalmente modificado de suspencion, con un jimny standard ?? Los dos traen eje solido solo es mas potente el jimny x motor mas moderno pero samurai es mas resistente pero esta comparativa desigual.
Luis Carlos Rojas Meneghel We never compared them mate. They are totally different purpose built vehicles as you'll see in my other Samurai vs Jeep video I explained

Father had a '96 4 door Sidekick. It was an amazing, reliable car and very easy of the fuel. I wish we could get back these cars in Canada.

Cool video. Has a 88 Samurai owner, I was happy to see this video. Great area to have fun too. Could only dream having the Jimny in America.
Man that's absolutely one of the best sj I've ever seen!
This was one of my favorite exploring missions where nobody knew if there was a route, all we had was our motivation to go forward, let's do it again!
Michael Fouché fuck your adventure

Wahaha that's funnny!
Thanks for the kind words Vincent
I love it, have a feeling this video that expresses a good day among colleagues doing offroad
The Samurai is well built. I really like the suspension and gearing changes that you have done to the vehicle. The motor is pretty awesome, too.
Thanks Todd! I'm quite happy with the overall build of the Zook and for it's intended purpose. Just needs a few more small things to make it that much better
Keep making these vids! I'm new to the Samurai world and I love mine. I definitely need protection plates though.

How much did you spend to get your Samurai to the level it is now?
Coolest samurai ive ever seen ! What mods have u made and is that with 31 wheels ? Are those axles original or from toyota
Please respond, I would also like to know.
Everything on the Zombie Zook is Suzuki. The axles are stock SJ80 axles with an auto locker in the rear

@@mr.phoenix8691 They have brakes and seatbelts, thats about it 😁
@@HendriMouton Lol
What tyres and size are you running on the Jimny?

How do you make the samurai sound like that apart from the super charger what exhaust is it and anything else? Please respond

jimny has 4.16 transfer?
Only the Samurai, the Jimny has got stock TC ratios
que motor lleva el samurái

Por qué las llantas del samurai las usan más desinfladas o blanditas?
The tyres on the Samurai are quite big and the sidewall is stiffer so I have to deflate them more to get the same footprint
Oh, I see. Thanks :D
