Just received 4 more silver stingnose minnows in the mail that I ordered direct from Thundermist to add to my stingnose arsenal! Never want to be on the water or ice without one. I’m so worried about losing one, that I ordered more so I have two of each size I like just in case. Get one. They’re one of the best jigging spoons there is. Hands down.
Once again another great video. Thank you. I fish the “ other” side of the lake from you. We also use stingnose minnows but use the 1/2 ounce or higher instead of a sinker on a two hook drop shot rig with minnows above it. It does an excellent job drawing in the perch and has caught us the occasional walleye. I also use a 7’ custom rod and use a much longer upwards swing while jigging. This allows you to raise the baits higher in the water column. Most fish are caught when the rig drops . I commend you on keeping the smaller fish. Perch caught in deeper than 45-50’ expand their air bladder and would probably not survive their release even if you did try to pop it.

I'm new to your channel and love your Perch videos, I have fished for over 50 years and never seen to catch more than a couple barely eater size Perch! The sad part is that they are my favorite fish for eating! I'm going to place an order soon for a few of your Perch jigs and hopefully I will be able to learn how to find them in my lake here in Southern Michigan! I really don't like telling all my fishing secrets and techniques but here's the one I find that works on Perch in lake Erie in the summer time .. the yellow Perch will bite better when you have your boat motor running because most people dump their minnows and leave out loud so it wakes the Perch up to a feeding frenzy ... Yellow Perch in lake Erie are spoiled little opportunist fish waiting for free food lol 😂 and this really only works in somewhat shallow Waters ..
Hello, we are new to the area (Huron) and I just bought a boat for 2023. I have fished all my life but not sure what lures to get for perch/walleye, any ideas on what would be a good starting tackle box?
congrats on your boat and welcome to our area :) We have plenty of videos on our channel for perch and walleye and suggest T-Turn bait rig 1A and 2A for live bait use, Stingnose or Flexi jig with Skoolie for jigging, and Viper Spoon is key for trolling, as is the American Smelt - so it just depends on the type of fishing you will be doing...live bait, jigging or trolling - but search our channel as we share plenty of tips!!
Ever fishing season has their differences and if you Perch fish with live bait, try to always buy the emerald shiners because those other minnows called big heads don't work as good... Walleyes really change their feeding habits a lot , the summer time bite is deeper waters and, the cold season bites are likely near land at about 25ft deep waters and shallower waters , into the starting of summer... This is my opinion adding to help those like yourself 😃 but you probably wasn't asking me and , you only might have wanted thundermist lure's opinion... Sorry if I butt'ed in , peace ✌️

...they are a soft plastic lure and come in 2 sizes for now, but in a month, there will also be a new 3rd size...they come in 3 colors and are available now, and there is a fourth color coming next month as well....Hot Pink :)
I've always just hand picked my peaches, but jigging sounds like a challenge too. I usually only jig for melons, but always willing to learn.

Sting nose minnow has to be the best perch lure ever. It stays on my ice rod all winter just tip it with a piece of minnow an look out.

How are you determining where to start fishing? Are there drop offs or are you driving around until you see them on the sonar.
we typically look for any of these 3 things: Structure, Bait fish, fish
