Lol, yes, needed to fertilize earlier when the rains wouldn’t quit. I switched to granular and as soon as it dried up a bit I gave them a liquid boost. Right now, the mosquitoes are so bad near any vegetation I can’t do anything. Planted most of fall garden and basically threw the seeds when it got so intolerable.
I am hearing more vids mentioning mosquitoes, but here Z5a, WI there is no way anyone could be out there near vegetation without a hazmat suit on. It’s depressing and I’m on the edge with trying a fog spray. We have 2 bug zappers on 24/7 that we clean daily.
I have hostas that were here over a decade ago and it’s been the worst time to remove as it keeps popping up even into the grass. It is a basic green with lavender flowers.
The only way I can enjoy my flowers is through pictures.
Thx for the tour, your flowers look very nice.

Ugh the mosquitoes are epic this year. The extremely mild winter we had started increasing their numbers then the cool and rainy spring and summer has caused a nightmare population boom. I think I'll end up buying a bug suit to survive. I want to enjoy the cool evenings outside still! My sister in Texas says people think mosquitos are bad down there but when she comes up here they're 10 times worse. Aren't we lucky!

Your firelight hydrangea could win at the State Fair. Just lovely.

Wow! How LUSH are those beautiful container displays ❤❤❤ Gorgeous!! I wonder if you can answer this question for me? I bought a six pack of cleome transplants and planted them out about three weeks ago. Only one has been growing and branching out and putting on size all the other ones have barely grown, and have stayed really spindly and just one stock on them. I wonder what’s wrong with them do you have any suggestions of what I should do to get them growing? We have had a lot of rain and even the foliage of the looks kinda yellowish so I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it too much water I wonder if I should prune them anywhere to get fuller they just look really weak and didn’t really do much and yet the other one is coming along beautifully.

Yes, I am lucky I'm in a more densely populated area in the city with no deer. That would be so frustrating to have my plants eaten like a salad bar!

@@gardensglory1229 Thank you so much! I've been container gardening since about 2010 and in ground gardening since 2018. A few videos of my garden were featured on Garden Answer's channel and all the comments encouraged me to start posting on youtube. It took me a while to work up the courage to talk on camera but I can talk endlessly about gardening so now I enjoy filming and posting. 🙂
