Wow, i was literally just about to click on the "buy" button for this scenery, when i decided to see if anyone (other than rex) had a youtube vid on it. I am so glad i came across your vid! So far i am very dissatisfied, this is not what we have come to expect from rex at all. I thank you for showing the different airports and different problems with the scenery, i am going to hold off on buying it now.
I'm pleased you liked the video :-) for the record, I am happy with my purchase. It's a neat idea to upgrade the default scenery. I can see how people could be disappointed with it, though. The REX screenshots are definitely hand picked for awesomeness!
Pretty sure this product wasn't responsible for the terrain glitches, they're just textures, with the exception of ground vehicles which they actually do supply new models for as is evident by what get's backed up in your backup folder. Considering they're an improvement to global airports it's a great way to improve them all since you will never replace them all with payware. Most professional payware airports should exclude all default airport objects, It would not reflect well on their quality if they didn't.
Thanks for the video. I'm completely new to rex products so I had no idea about how themes work. I was hoping that I could load all textures and they would be displayed randomly all mixed around different airports, but now i realise that's not possible. I'm loving this product but i have to admit it does make all airports look a bit the same
+Neal McCullough you're welcome. REX products really breath life into the sim, but I guess it's a tall order when it comes to 24,000 airports. I guess you could change the theme every flight to give some variety?
Yeah I think you're right. It's probably best to set up loads of themes and save each one as an airport name, and then load that theme every time you fly from that airport

+Pete Michel ah right. Yeah I've completely switched to P3D from FSX now, as I'm getting steady performance. I use X-Plane too - I'm really enjoying that and can really push my computer. I'm looking forward to the new X-Plane touching down very soon!!

No problem. I've yet to try LAX out again, or any other major airports. To confirm, the Oslo scenery I spoke about in the video is now fixed. This was due to an ORBX update.
It would have been better if REX had allowed the provision for enhancing specific airports only. There are some Orbx airports I do not want to alter. It looks like this adds textures to everything? I dont suppose there is an exclude function? Also the REX Texture Direct already does runway and light textures. But thanks again for the first look!
David Herky Hi David. Yes, that would have been a good move. If it's a default texture - then this updates it. The settings screen in the software is very sparse and doesn't offer any exclude options as far as I could see. And yes, REX TD handles those textures. I guess this is an accessible way for enthusiasts to get an immediate update to their default scenery and a taste of the improved textures REX TD offers. Thanks for watching :-)
I wouldn't want to buy scenery for every airport I fly to so this is great for that. Still, the only thing that stands out from default scenery are the runways and taxiways.
how and where did you change the default pushback tow truck and baggage handler!? looks amazing! would like a link? ive looked everywhere for them and couldnt find a link.
+lastcall170 of course! Do you use an Nvidia graphics card? If so, certain cards support 'Shadowplay' which allows you to record your screen and/or game. This is what I used. If you don't have an Nvidia card or one that supports Shadowplay, you can record your gameplay using software like OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It's free too! Hope that helps.
Little update for anyone using this product with UK2000 scenery - REX WAHD is conflicting with this scenery and overlapping. Not great! Currently going through my other scenery to see if there are any other problems.
I am a little worried about my payware airports hope it will not conflict with them on FSX I saw you had problems with P3D I am downloading it as I write this. Taking about 2 hours to download 3 day's after released date.
I am not to happy as this add on messed my traffic i had installed. I may have to try to restore my pc to a date before i installed this, I tried to back up and restore my old setting on the add on but ground traffic was left be hide.

OK, so I had to read a number of comments (about 5 'main' comments, not counting the replies to any of them), before I got the your update that mentions the issues with the Orbx Airports was in fact, due to an Orbx update event unrelated to the REX WWA. That may be something you'd want to clarify in a 'pop-up balloon’ edited into to the present video, no? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing to do with REX other than owning a number of their products. In fact, due to a misunderstanding between the forum administrator and me, REX pretty much ignores any questions I have when I need support. Now, I usually get my replies from some other member and most of the time, it comes days, (if not weeks), after I posted the question. That’s why I tend to do an extra amount of research whenever I consider purchasing an REX product anymore. This WWA seems like it’s not much of an improvement if any, over my present “Airport Enhancer HDX” by Cielosim, which I can say is still the best airport and runway texture enhancer I’ve ever tried. “AE HDX” allows all the same textures to be improved as REX WWA and even can add surface reflections. Airport lighting, grass, tarmacs, vehicles, stripes and signs are all included and the hit on the frames is imperceptible. I have AE HDX set my FSX graphic texture resolution to 4096 and I run an i7-4790K (devils Canyon), at 5 GHz. I don’t see any changes in the FPS but I doubt it would hit most systems that run a slower CPU with more than 1 or 2 FPS at most. I have something like 3 or 4 other add-on texture enhancers for the airports and surrounding areas including the one from Aerosoft, (another company with a “great” customer support team, which may even be worse than REX’s). Yes, actually you may find it very surprising! I've had it for years and every time something new came out and I bought it, I kicked myself for having wasted the money. HDX was so much better than anything I've tried, (I'm repeating myself, I know). Anyway, I certainly thank you for the review even though I have FSX. There are some differences between P3D & FSX but they become less apparent with the more 3rd party addons one installs, (and I have many). I meant to point out that I have REX TD 4 and Essential Plus Overdrive, (Soft Clouds & Weather Architect too), and I have the airport related textures and lighting disabled in both. AE HDX handles them significantly better in FPS and appearance. It's not expensive, fast to install, and you can turn it on or off very easily and when you wish. Yes, give it a try. It's very easy on the FPS and it's easy to turn on or off instantly without a lot of rebooting, (though you do have to restart FSX but that's a must do for any scenery or mesh software). I just added a GTX 1070 to my system, replacing the 7970 I had. However, while I was trying it out when I was reminded that my AI traffic is invisible! It has nothing to do with the card, it was invisible before I installed it. I just forgot about the issue and when I flew the "Resort" mission, I noticed the F16's were invisible even though the copilot was exclaiming how close they were when they went by. I know about the FS9 bgl possibility and I haven't turned off any shadow' effects to see if the planes become visible again either. Even if they do, that's not good enough. I need to hunt down the cause so I can run with the shadows on. FWIW, Rich
I think REX lost its way. Do they really expect user to spend time picking color of ground vehicles? Makes no sense to me. And there is GSX that doesn't require any of this.

Meh...not impressed. I didn't see any GA airports yet, and they said the airports would blend in more and yet they stick out just like default, I'd get more bang for my buck buying one nice airport tbh
I've not checked out many smaller airprots yet but I'll do that. 20 or 30 bucks will buy you a nice airport scenery, however, this is an improvement on all default airports.
Easton Williams Wait until Orbx have their Christmas sale and buy a cheap region like Pacific North West, their redesigned small airports in their regions are really nice.
Liofa Haha, I've been waiting and saving money for a solid 2 months for maybe a Thanksgiving sale or Black Friday, their airports are too expensive, I'm going to get PNW and Northern CA and some of the airports there.
Liofa How good are the upgraded airports that come with PNW and NC? I'm going to get those two and probably 15-20 airports when they have a sale and totally load up and maybe get Alaska and the Rockies too.
The smaller GA airports are very much improved. Better buildings and stationary vehicles and aircraft, even people walking around. Fences around the outiside.

Aye, I watch Q8Pilot quite a bit and followed his instructions but end up ditching them because I prefer the FPS over the eye candy haha!

Same here. I wish REX would work also with X-Plane. Unfortunately I'm done putting money on an outdated sim. :( and P3D is too expensive.

Its working now. All good. It was not my airline traffic but my airport trucks and so on..

just tried it with gsx and it works well, basically it only changes whatever default vehicles are loaded at the airport and doesn't touch gsx
I'm unable to download it.It's asking me for the Serial Number , without which it doesn't start.Any ideas how to fix this problem?
