    I imagined Grungni as Bob the Builder myself.
    During the age of Chaos, Sigmar asked "Can we fix it?". By his side, wearing a yellow protective hat, Grungni answered "Yes we can!"

    Some weeks ago I imagined an army of possessed duardin golems.
    It’s not Grungni related, but Thorgrim.
    After the past world ended, a certain soul survived the destruction and somehow ended up in the Mortal Realms. Eons passed as the soul regained its strength, eventually regaining its past appearance, memory and personality. This was the soul of Thorgrim Grudgebearer, and he was absolutely livid. He remembered every single grudge written down in the Book of Grudges, and the end of the World that Was added many, many new chapters in the book.
    So it was that he wrote a whole new Book of Grudges, and with every word or sentence, a Grudgeborn came to life.
    The Grudgeborn are duardin of stone, possessed to fulfill every single grudge written in the Book of Grudges, whether it be in the Mortal Realms or the World that Was. The sins of the fathers shall be paid in full, and the ghost of Thorgrim Grudgebearer leads them to that end, even if that end is the end of the world.

    I love Grungni in Spear of Shadows! He’s the god of all smiths and makers and even has Ogor smiths worshipping him

    I want to see Grungni resurrecting Valaia. I want combined forces of Dispossessed, Fyreslayers, Kharadron overlords and Gotrek fight against Scavens and Goblins for the Grungni forge fortress in the realm of metal. KHAZUKAN KAZAKIT-HA!

    You think Grungni felt some PTSD during the Age of Chaos, being reminded of the End Times?

  • @nickthompson6642
    @nickthompson6642 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yes!!! They need to remake the old dwarves in the same way they’re remaking High Elves. This has been aelf year so far with the Lumineth and rumors of Shadow Elves, maybe next year will be duardin year. Grugni and Grimnir return in a rebirth of the old dwarves as the Dispossessed return to their mountain holds and fight back against Chaos.

    There's been mentions of clockwork automatons a few times in battletomes and lore, and I agree, that's an army I would love to see.

    After the Bugman tease in the recent "mysteries of the mortal realms" community post I have a feeling we're going to see the return of Valaya, godess of brewing and healing. The post describes Bugman "providing life-restoring brews as refreshing as mountain spring water." Really hoping for a 3rd dwarf army release rather than a warcry warband or underworlds crew, but we'll see. I don't know how much Valaya is mentioned elsewhere in Sigmar lore, but would love a roundup of such information if there's enough of it out there.

    I'd love an army with heavy-armor/support troops and war-machines. Sort of what the Chaos Dwarves' shtick is. Then again, I would just faint if there was ever a Grungni model I could buy and add to a dispossessed army.
    Who knows, maybe that'll be in the works with another duardin faction as Gordrakk marches on Azyr. As a God of creation, Grungni would naturally be against forces such as destruction, who don't have a sense of intricacy, creativity, or industry as the other 3 groups do.

    Awesome vid as always! But the nitpick in me wants to point out: I know we should never be too obsessed with pronounciations, but there are two letter N's in his name, Doug! GruNgNi. Pronounced Grung-Knee I guess?

    • @DaPreach90
      @DaPreach90 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you wanted to you could also pronounce it as Groon-yee. I'm basing that from Odin's spear Gungnir. Just move the r and you have Grungni lol

    • @NMahon
      @NMahon 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tbf spelling the characters name and pronouncing his name wrong all throughout the video is a little bit sloppy and can lead people to doubt the quality of the research in the video. For Doug it's not great because people might search "grungni lore" or something and not find his video meaning he might miss out on views/money. So it's very much in his interest to spell things correctly. I dont really care but it's just not the best for Doug.

  • @TheWilliamsT

    Seeing how The Dispossessed are now fully integrated into The Cities of Sigmar do you ever think they’ll get a stand alone Battletome and should they?
    I feel if the expand the COS they should add new Cities, new units and new faction trades for race types too.

    Some kharadron do in fact still worship grungni and the ancestors. Hell, Barak Thryng is a whole city dedicated to this believe.
    They just dont take it as seriously as befor.

  • @adambielen8996
    @adambielen8996 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I will say that the idea that Grungni only has a few worshipers but is worshipped by Blacksmiths and other craftsmen are two things that do not add up. Because craftsmen should make up a significant portion of any population.

    I know I’m a bit tardy for this comment but tbh I think more in ko in the idea of him Subtly helping his children letting his own Dwarven pride make him not apologize but knowing on his honor he needs to make it right so he helps from the shadows adding more and more to the ko range. Giving them the blessing of God and ask anything return out of shame.

    Grungin and Teclis have opposing approaches to teaching.
    While Teclis prechew fish before giving them to his followers, Grungni teach his followers how to fish.
    In this metaphor the Enlightenment Engines that Teclis made are essentially fish distributors. Mortals don't have to learn how to build a reservoir of knowledge in order to understand the world they live in. They just have to walk to one of those idea giving machine infused with a portion of Teclis knowledge and call it a day after that.
    No wonder that Grungni 'was more than happy to subvert the work of his rival [Teclis]". (www.warhammer-community.com/2019/05/14/forbidden-power-the-lore/)
    Grungni's method led to the rise of the Kharadron Overlords, a faction that managed to thrive during the age of chaos to the point that the Battle of the First Coalition (KO vs Tzeentch) ensured "the Kharadron Overlords' complete dominance of the Chamonic skies for more than a century" (KO 2nd battle tome, p. 20). Keep in mind that the KO gained supremacy over the skies of Chamon during the Age of Chaos, without the help of any other faction.
    On the other hand you have the Lumineth Realmlords who appear to need babysitters in the form of Hyshian elemental spirits in order to survive. Or you have the Deepkin who are just managing to survive by isolating themselves and steeling other peoples soul.

    is Grugni the AOS equivalent of the Omnissiah? am an AdMech player and am taking an interest in AOS and am drawn to the Kharadon Overlords due to the fact that they value science and technology much like the Adeptus Mechanicus and i like the stempunk theme. also am guessing this aether gold is the AOS equivalent value to STCs or Archeotech for the AdMech.

    • @2Tough
      @2Tough  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess he probably is the nearest equivalent, seeing as there arent a ton of "engineering focused" factions. They play radically different, but if a steampunk-tech look is what you're going for... they are the number 1 choice!

    I'd love to see like... The "Grudgebearers" or something, Grungi leading an army of duardin, constructs, maybe even ghost dwarves (possibly bound to said constructs), a grand army to right the wrongs of the past.
    Throw in like, Grombrindal and Gotrek, and you got yourself a mighty force of proper dwarven warriors.
