Made this today, and OMG. This is way better than "foie gras". This paté has an incredible blend of flavors! The word that comes to mind is "sophisticated". It would not be out of place in a top-notch restaurant. I seriously cannot believe how great this tastes -- and how easy it was to make. Thank you!!!

@@FABIOof119 In my experience people don't eat holiday spreads for their nutritional content so let's get real; you I assume don't like vegan cuisine in general so why are you hovering around at Xmas time like the bad fairy at the christening? Unpleasant behaviour with no good intentions. I happened on a lentil/mushroom spread that reminds me of country pate, sorry for missing accents, which people really liked; that definitely had significant iron magnesium fiber etc etc etc. But that's not the point is it. Leave this talented woman full of good will alone and choose your battles more wisely.

I got to this site because as a vegan foodie who likes to experiment I occasionally turn disasters into success surprising me and everyone else. My version is more rustic than what you have accomplished here -- a MUST TRY! but in my case over-cooked some brown lentils in the Instant pot and had some dried porcini mushrooms shallots and balsamic vinegar plus dried herbes de provence and coarsly ground pepper plus vegan parmesan and put it all in the food processor, was awesome but this looks even better by far!!!!! Will definitely try this weekend!
Mr. Chef Jana is a charming taste tester, and I have no doubt that everyone would find this recipe delectable: I don't even remember what pâté tastes like, but I was very excited to watch this one being made. With some of the other things you have featured on this channel, one could have a first rate vegan appetizer table for the holiday without any guest feeling left out. TFP : )

You must know that the actual date of Jesus' birth is not known, and that tradition has set December 25th based on the date of the annunciation, Hanukkah, and many other factors. Does it really matter when the date was? Is it not rather more important that as many people in the world as possible come together in the name of Jesus? Looks great. You can also do this with green lentils - not puy - just the regular flat ones. I add a small amount of treacle to give it a 'metallic' taste, that's typical of liver based dishes. Yeast extract (Marmite) is also good for adding a deep savoury flavour, though as it's very salty you should take care in adding any further salt. And lastly, liquid smoke or smoked paprika gives a slight 'bacon-y' touch which works very well in this context..

it's more close to paté to me , visual aspect is not even close to vegan foie gras . You should renamed it as a vegan paté .
