- Gnarly Structure Fishing With MUSSEL Lure!!
In todays video i did a bit of a drive down to a beautiful bay, to do some bream fishing with a mussel lure, yes a (mussel lure). Although the wind was not on our side, the fish sure were! Finished the day with many quality fish. Its a different sort of lure to what you would usually see. But man does it work. Hope you all enjoy :)
Cheers

Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Thats our favorite pier, i put my brother and mums ashes in the water there, my brother and i had our first ever fishing session there with dad. I caught a nice flatty off there in the rain last time i was there but it's deep and the current is usually strong, need a little bit of weight and a darkish grub.
Where is this location mate ?

You know it’s a good day when Josh uploads 🙌🏼🤙🏼
What an amazing lure….I looked on the web and could hardly believe the price. I certainly will have to save up to get one of those, that is always the problem when you are on a fixed income. Interesting you sharing how you still get effected by motion sickness…I am a lucky one and have never been “sea sick” in my life yet when I was a little tacker I would get motion sickness in the car when in the hills. I am heading off tomorrow to visit with my son, daughter in law and grandsons on the Murray River around the Echuca / Moama area and will be fishing with one of the grandsons who really enjoys fishing. What a great video again Josh.
Way to expensive ( those trebles are rubbish ) but would be very easy to make your own. Well done some nice Bream there.
@@craigparker4108 …. If only I had those skills….when you’re on the aged pensions you really have to look out for those “on sale” signs when looking to buy lures etc.
@@Mark-ew5jm If you have the chance, I recommend checking out garage sales for cheap tackle. Good health to you.
Tackle addiction has them on sale
@@timsmith854 …thanks for the tip. I enjoy exploring the weekend markets yet have never gone to garage sales….will pay more attention from here on.
The amount of effort you put into these videos. Stunning mate well done
👌🏼
Great video mate the quality is awesome Im really thankful for all the amazing content keep it up legend
Great little sesh. Reminds me of being a kid, going to the tackle shop after pay day to restock the lures I lost. Hurt so much more back then losing a $20+ lure. funny thing is they have never changed price. I think jackals have been the same price since they came out.
Wow amazing content quality Josh!
Great video Josh,
Great fishing.
I really want one of those lures. Keep it up josh!
Epic video this week brother keep it up 👍🏼
josh you should really come down to narooma, up the back of the inlet I've got a few spots that have yielded a fair few 40+ fish and ma mate got one going 48 but ya need a boat to get to those spot so yeh

Nice bream I live in Japan I love fishing there I was using a jelly lure for a bit untill a big black seabream came up to me I got shocked by the size of it I decided to catch it so I dropped my lure next to it I waited for a few seconds and it triggered! I caught the seabream it was a 50cm it was tasty 😋 it was very meaty I loved it!

Told you ages ago they were good man! Glad you got some and got stuck into the big dogs! Dowelley smashes 45+ regularly with them 😂 not to mention he just had Starlo upload his perspective of fishing with the muss!
the editing is getting on point now! felt ya pain when you got dusted by that good fish on the crab 😅
🫡

Good shit man!
Interesting episode Josh with a very different lure. Never heard of the mussel lure before and I think the sales will be going up after this vid. Keep up the good work mate
Callum just had Starlo share a video with it on his channel aswell, major increase in sales
Didn’t think that lure would catch much, thanks for the content mate
Yeah I was surprised

Another epic video man
Great sess Josh a couple of casts in and a 39 centimeter Bream awesome mate. You sold me on the muss Lure, great vid mate.
Cheers Shane👌🏼
Nice work Josh, the bay looks great. Haven’t been there in years, great catch by the way. 👌 👌 👌 the muss is getting some pretty good reviews of late. 👍
What bay is it

Great stuff ! Always look forward to ya clips champion ! ✔🎣👍 im on it now .
Beautiful part of the world I thought they might have left the historic bridge still standing. You did well the current really rips through there, can’t wait to fish it again... have to go n buy sum mussel lures 😆 GREAT VID as allways!! Hope there’s a part 2.
Where is this location if you don’t mind me asking .

nice video
Hopefully i get to see you at the south coast because I’ve definitely been there
Another great video mate, perfect to wake up to a Josh D vid on your bday! cheers legend
the pain of losing a cranka crab :(
Oh mate happy bday. Hope you got out for a fish🙏
@@joshdfishing cheers mate, I certainly did
Top effort, as usual, mate! That lure (muscle) is a clever design as it sorts the pickers out from the thumpers.
I have seen plenty of fishos rock up in 4WDs with rod-holders. Enter Josh rock'n in an automatic Getz :) And he cleans up! Don't change a thing, bud; you produce wholesome content consistently.
Yeah very unique lure. And it’s not made in a big warehouse or anything. Just a Aussie guy that makes it out of his garage. How good! Appreciate the words mate
Looks like someone is hammering the mussles off the pylons. Fun vid :)
Same thing happened to me when iIwas trout fishing. Got one and chucked him back and he just floated there for like 20 seconds before finally swimming off! anyway, great video josh keep up the good work
i love your vids
EPIC!!!
great work Josh, used the meat from the mussels & plpl, never the shell 👍👍.maybe a seasick tab an hour before hitting the pontoon. cheers
Yeah definitely gonna hit up a sea sick tablet next time :/
JOSH.D!! G'day mate I notice you have a handy jighead case for storing neatly in another video, do you mind sharing where you were able to pick one up! Cheers mate
Amazing how fish eat anything right? I was just fishing myself with a soft plastic caught nothing them put scent on it and then all of a sudden 7 40cm+ salmon! Keep up the good work your going places I know it!
Great vid Josh. You have a look at the crab lure from Holts Production, I really like them.
Thanks for vid mate
Great video there mate! That bream was chillin ay. 2 very nice set ups.. do you like the new luvias? could you share why you use 8lb on your lighter outfit and 6lb on the brawler? just curious that's all. always enjoy watching your clips mate
Hey josh when will you do another gear rundown? You seem to have bought some sweet new gear 👍👍
Another great video mate. Batemans bay goes alright. You ever fish wairo beach?
nah ive heard good things of wairo though. That video i did catching salmon on topwater is near wairo
@@joshdfishing only ask cause I’ve pulled salmon, tailor and mullet from there and Im not half as good as you. You might wanna give it a crack
Josh’s🎣🤜🤙
Is the lure a bait kinda thing where you wait or is it like a lure where you reel it back in
finally back in batemans bay, should film video in upper reaches for bass next time!
Jeez Josh, I haven't fished the bay since the late 80's . Looks like it's still top fishing though.
There not cheap but boy they work some nice bream Josh
Yeah not cheap but it’s a guy who makes them in his garage. No big factory or nothin. They are high quality lures and the terminals are great
Great video dude I got a muss lure myself and can’t wait too test it but I gotta ask if I can-where’s that location dude I’d like to visit it one day as I reside in western Sydney.
That’s dude that was fishing next to you in the start was probably sooo pissed off that you literally had just got there and you caught a stonker and he hadn’t caught anything haha 😂
🤣🤣 I was thinking that myself
yes!
Bud wet towel when you land them and don’t let them kick and thrash around on the concrete. Try not keep them out the water for half an hour you won’t get any issues with releasing them. Guess you’ve gotta put in some effort if you want to have good fishing for the future.
I have fish out of water for max 1 minute 30 seconds. It’s quite hard to set everything up. Get your talking right in the first go and good close up shots. All fish swam off strong except for one that was actually perfectly fine by how it kicked. Was just being silly
@@joshdfishing when you get a minute have a look at the dpi studies of fish mortality rates with improper handling and long term exposure to air and you’ll surly change your tune young fella, it seems a shame that the fish have yo suffer so you can get content.
It really is a nice place mate, i know that jetty but wont declose the location as there is a reason why you didnt link it in the description
Just subscribed
Awesome Bream lure. Be careful of copies / fake versions on eBay etc. great fishing
Next time you go there do you think there is any value in bringing the yak to paddle across to that middle bridge pylon? Traykofish style
Yeah I like Dylan’s pylon vids hey. Drop and your feet and rip it up. Gets smoked by gs. I wish we had trevs like that down here. Would be cool to do it though but for a Jew
Hey josh what size double clutch do you usually use
luv ur vids
what type of line would u suggest for flathead and bream. keep up the good work!!
cheers man. 8lb fluorocarbon or 10lb fluorocarbon
@@joshdfishing alr thx!
@@joshdfishing why not mono?
@@perrypemberton4270 cause mono isn’t invisible under water and it also floats. Fluro is invisible under water and a lot harder for the fish to notice it. It’s also stretchier and when your fishing light lines and plastics/ hard bodies you want fluro cause of its firmness to feel full contact with you lure and control👌🏼
not sure if its your thing but how about doing a budget challenge, see if you can land a nice flatty with the cheapest gear possible, would also give us pore peaople some hope haha
If you have a look on my channel I’ve actually done a budget challenge. $50 budget challenge
Hey mate was wondering what lure box you use to hold your lures. I've been trying to find one, and I'm not sure if it's just a fly fishing box or if it's something different
Samaki foam box in large👍
Hi Josh, I really wanted to know, what knot you are useing to join your braid to fluorocarbon leader?
