  • Using my technique to emulate the x2 i.Zoom capability of Panasonic Lumix bridge cameras.
This method gives superior results to the in-camera produced JPEG image.
Also a comparison between the 1200mm optical EFL of the FZ80/82 and the FZ300/330 with my i.zoom method.
Using RAW file as the basis plus cropping and extrapolation back to the original image dimension.

Recently discovered your channel after acquiring a few Lumix FZ300 cameras. Very informative and I appreciate the deep technical dives into these various topics.

Thanks for this. People buy superzooms to zoom, so this kind of video is rare and appreciated.

Absolutely excellent Graham - I’m going to have a go at trying raw - I’ve had my 330 for two weeks and love it but the massive steep learning curve you have enabled with your exceptional teaching is breathtaking- THANKYOU GRAHAM ! You are a legend !!!

Thanks Graham for the very detailed answer to my question. Given all the other advantages of my FZ300 I will stick with it rather than adding an FZ82 to my collection.
One note: I use iZoom to I see the full image I will get in the viewfinder; then I can be sure it is properly exposed and in focus. If I were to shoot raw I would have to wait until post processing, by which time it is too late to correct bad focus.

Hey Graham a question about using iZoom on the FZ300 vs 1200mm on the FZ80, which would be better for getting more clear images of Saturn's rings (and separation between the planet and the rings and capturing Cassini's division in the rings?) or bird feather detail if the bird is 100 ft (30 m) away-- for example, a cardinal or a mockingbird (7-11 inches long)? Specifically for Saturn's rings, since from what I have seen the FZ80 isn't as good at showing them as other 1000mm to 1200mm cameras like the Fuji HS50. I also read that iZoom is much worse on the FZ80 than it is on the FZ300 so don't use it on the FZ80 as well as optical teleconverters performing much worse on the FZ80? So basically if you get the FZ80 you're stuck at 1200mm while with the FZ300 you get better image quality with iZoom and 1200mm using that for Saturn's rings and bird feather details at that distance?

After using your videos as research I just bought AN FZ330. Love it but I find the view finder very dark... Any handy tips for a brighter view.?

I have a question. on the camera Panasonic Lumix dmc-fz200 does not end zoom only up to 23 and then writes that the camera must be restarted. But this happens all the time. What can I do ? I can't do macro photography
