Great to see a trip done on ebike. I travel by ebike quite a bit and have developed my own “best setup,” which includes carrying an extra battery on my front rack. My Canyon hardtail ebike gets me about 30miles/3,000 ft vertical on a charge, which isn’t enough for most days. I’ve tried using one battery with mid-day recharge, but it can take 4-6 hours for a full recharge. I’ve been a cyclist all my life and am now in mid-60’s and mostly ride my ebike. I just completed a 3-week ride through southern Italy and Albania, mixing riding, train hops, and ferry crossings across Adriatic Sea. Traveling as I do at this point in my life would not be possible if not for ebike. Thanks for being open to and promoting ebike touring… it’s an amazing way to see the world.
Love that, thanks for sharing some insight. After this experiment I’m glad to confirm about 50km and 1500m of climbing on a charge… with a 2h fast charge topping it all up again. And that’s without the extender battery!
@@tristanbogaard That's fantastic. My bike has Shimano EP-8, which takes a LONG time to recharge. The Pinion system looks amazing and clearly works without a second battery, allowing that you can do a quick charge during lunch break. I guess it might be time to go bike shopping again. 🙂
A beautiful film. Thank you both for creating and sharing!
Captured the sounds so well 🎧
E bike outrage in the comments section incoming. Who cares, it's bikes and adventure, Tristan great film making and editing....very smooth edit and attention to framing. Can't imagine how much behind the scenes efforts it took to set up all the shots. That walk back to the hotel at night shot with the door closing, so good..... was either great timing or very helpful locals:)
The unplanned surprises are the often the best shots in my repertoire 🙃 Thanks for watching so attentively!
I recommend everyone to watch with headphones to capture every detail of this video. It is always very good to watch quality content here on the platform. I will always have the pleasure of liking and commenting. Big hug!!!
Stunning scenery. Such a wonderful route.
I am ashamed to say that I used to be an elitist, snobby cyclist that said " I will NEVER get an ebike" of course I had never tried one, either. Then I had to learn all about ebikes ( makes and models) for my job. Watts, watt/hrs, torque, range etc. And we had to test ride the bikes. Long story, short. I added an ebike to my herd of 5 non ebikes. Just one more arrow in the quiver. 😊
A textbook example of how actually trying something can change your up front opinion entirely. I hope people take after your example 😌
Hola pareja, gracias por compartir otro maravilloso vídeo y encima pedaleando en nuestra tierra Andalucía, nosotros dos somos de Sevilla. Un fuerte abrazo
Muchas gracias. Ha sido un placer explorar tu tierra.
"Can I have a bite?"....she gave up that sandwich VERY reluctantly! 🤣
Hahaha, I was waiting for someone to notice 😝
Hello, Wow, these are film-maker's images, the shots are so well framed! Do you have the slider travelling system? I was tempted to add a few macro shots of flora like flowers but the attention on the jellicle cat deserves the 5th star 😊 Your e-bikes are real Rolls and nothing replaces the Pinion belt system. I'm looking forward to checking out your other videos! Have a great summer and thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much! Just a humble tripod and camera here.
You are in the wrong vocation!
epic riding 😍
Wow so beautiful!
Thankyou guys very well captured on camera! Beutifull scenary, i still haven't tryed an ebike, i like idea but while i still can i prefer to keep myself moving under my own steam, keeping yourself fit as you get older is hard work but i love rideing bikes so i enjoy it.
That’s great going, Simon. I myself am looking forward to lots of rides on my Outback, without dependence on charging. But this ride was as awesome as the video shows!!
These were pedal assist bikes. If you don't pedal, they don't go. Also, you can pedal them with the assist off.
@@alethearobinson8132 yes i think they a marvelouse invention that help older and "not so fit people " get outdoors enjoying adventures, and im sure that i will end up with one at some point in my life, but not yet!
It’s about barriers and hurdles. E-bikes permit people to enter the arena. E-bikes result in cyclists doing many more kms when used for commuting and if you have a decent electricity provider have a lower carbon footprint (per km) than an analogue bike even including the embedded carbon to manufacture.
@simonwiltshire I am fit. I have 5 non motorized bikes and one ebike. Each has it's use
A 28 lb steel touring bike.
A 22 lb steel road bike
An 18 lb carbon road bike ( is it cheating because it is so light?
A 16 lb custom titanium road bike
An 18 lb carbon gravel bike
None of the above bikes have motors.
And one class 1 road ebike.(100 miles to a charge)
La Capadoccia española junto a Almería y Murcia.
¡Sí, exacto!
Beautiful film and beautiful shots, I wonder who was the "winner" coming back for the camera 🤣
🙋🏻♂️
Great! I enjoyed
Just one question: what's the type of the bike? I am beginner 😂
I’m glad! This is the Pamir e-bike from Tout Terrain.
@@tristanbogaard Good! it's a confortable bike
Gorgeous area! I am south of Cartagena, this has whetted my appetite! Roger in Spain 76 12:55
Go for it! Some incredible places to ride through and see with your own eyes.
Hi, have you got a gpx of your route? Thanks!
Yes, you can find a link to the daily segments in the description 👍🏼
Hi Tristan, I’ve been watching your adventures with Belen for some time, this has to be one of my favourites… the scenery, beautifully captured and a great story as always. And the route seems to be accessible to those who want a sense of adventure, but don’t want to be too far from civilisation. I notice you are no longer sponsored by Komoot and don’t seem to publish your routes there anymore. Do you have another system for storing routes… I’d really like to know the route for this video… thanks Tristan😊
Thanks Clive, happy to hear the videos leave that kind of impression! While no longer working with Komoot I do still utilize their platform. Could include the route segment links in the description if you’re keen.
@@tristanbogaard yes please, if it’s not too much trouble.
And pls ignore negative comments about e-bikes… these people obviously haven’t given it much thought beyond their own narrow minded world. I have lots of friends with e-bikes as well as ‘normal’ bikes… they all like both for different needs.
All done, you can find the link in the description. I know, people can be pretty rude about my choices. That’s the package you sign up for when uploading free to watch videos to this site…
What a beautiful video, Tristan! Those bikes look incredible, and the scenery, wooow. Just out of curiosity, are you no longer vegan?
Thanks! I’ve brought a bit of flexibility back into my life on the bike. It gets tough being so rigid out in the smaller pockets of society. Rest assured, I continue to have the same values…
How do you have all the time to travel? Don't you have a job? And how can you pay all the setup and stuff? How do you finance that? I mean sleeping in hotels also costs money. I'd like to do a biketrip like that too I just don't know where to start and how much money id have to save up? How much do you need for a biking trip moneywise?
This is my job.
@tristanbogaard how does this work? How can you make something like that your job? I mean don't you need savings first ?I wouldn't even know how to earn money with that. Please give more insight because I would like to do something like that too
That’s a story for another time, as I can’t possibly advise you anything valuable in a single comment!
@tristanbogaard ok would you reach out via email to me? I'm really interested but don't know how to start and how much money id save up?
@@tristanbogaard my message always gets deleted dont know why. would you do a tutorial or something for that or reach out to me? Im very interested in it but dont know how it works
A great film but just looking at the extra costs of an ebike overnight charging ie hotel or hostel and restaurant lunches for midday charge. Think I might stick to leg power. Definitely not keen on that gearbox/ motor whine either.
It’s definitely a kind of traveling that’s more costly, so more of a holiday level rather than a thing you’d do every month!
🚲🚲👍👍👍👍
E bikes are fab! They have opened up cycling to so many people that would otherwise be in a car. I can only suppose those that hate them have yet to “suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune”…..for those that have….they are brilliant!
Yeah, I don’t understand all the hate. Ebike or not, comment sections are too simple to show any sort of nuance…
y’all should take people in retirement centers and assisted living in their 80’s along these motorized scenic tours. Even a paraplegic could use an ebike on these hills. It’s a MOTOR all the way. and that’s coming from someone who has peddled up all these ranges many times and has the legs to prove it! E-bikes😮 are cool for town instead of a car sometimes and only of arrogant riders act accordingly which is hardly EVER the case.
I’m afraid I’m missing your point.
This is another video that is just a brand advertisement, showing you taking the bikes out of the car and going on a very short trip within Spain to create that ad video. Are you ever going to get back into long-haul international travel, encounters with varied cultures, going out of your comfort zone? Ever since the Baja Divide video where you said you were done with long bikepacking routes, the energy seems to have drained from this channel.
Where you perceive energy drain, I perceive a new balance. Plus, this is all free for anyone, I even exclude interrupting ads for the viewer’s benefit, so if you still need to moan about the companies that make it all possible then I recommend you go looking for a cycling channel catering to your liking. 🙋🏻♂️
Hi @crculver2068, please help. I’m trying to view the videos on your channel, but can’t find any. I was hoping to find some that are not just brand advertisements.
i hate E bikes.
That’s a firm statement. I wonder why?
E bike just suck
@@tristanbogaard They enable LAZY stupidness. I crossed the Rocky Mountains in the NW on a 120 lb Rohloff14 bike, when I was 64. 3,900 miles. I rode thru all the big cities along the way also.
That’s cool. But not everyone else is capable of that yet might still want to try with some help. That doesn’t come remotely close to laziness. I think y’all are missing a little bit of nuance…
@Dalibor483, nobody cares ❤️
