Frankly, it is. I recently went through old artifacts I've made when I was 14 to 17 years old while listening to specifically this. The sound was complimentary to my experience of cringing at myself and discovering photos I didn't think survived the multiple disk wipes my previous photos died to.
My favorite band, too. There's some older concerts up on archive.org. I like their post-punk stuff and noise pop stuff as much as I like their Creation stuff.
So basically, you made a shoegaze song sound even more shoegazey........ Sounds good! It has a doom feel to it. with it being slowed and muffled, it kinda has a black sabbath esque sound to it
