- Noooo…. I AM THE DENOMINATOR!!!
I'm pretty proud of how the underside of the roof turned out. Imagine how cool it will look when the actuators are installed and everything is painted! She ain't gonna be a race boat thats for certain! the roof will definitely be HEAVY!
That's all the footage now. Time to get back into boat work again! I really appreciate all the great comments and feedback! Let me know if you think the roof looks cool so far by giving the video a like.
All of the crumby blobs added up to this one! Hope you enjoy

Have to say Mick, there have been times where I have questioned what the final result should be, but you continue to amaze me with your persistence and ingenuity to keep coming up with solutions and results. Well done brother you are an inspiration to most. Keep pumping out the engineering, so impressive mate!!!!
Thanks man! 🍻 I know it looks dodgey some of my stuff but I try to build it as easy as I can …. Sort of lol
What do you guys think of the roof so far?
Super !
It’s a beautiful hat for your boat.
1. Super imaginative.. I can’t believe you don’t have more subscribers but they should come.
2. Your boat will easily support the 200-300 pounds of weight just put it the water when it’s close to test and loaded to be able to paint/gelcoat the new waterline.
3. I’d add glass support (perhaps with solid backing like Delrin) for the vhf antenna, and future fishing rod base / brackets.
4. I like your freinds idea of ceiling grip rail but do it with aluminum cross support for the fishing rods that ties into to actuator vertical support columns.
5. The support columns should be round or egg shaped too.
The boat looks good and strait lines rarely occur.
6. Get some negative air extraction ducting going on with some air scrubbers in that shop please. 🙏
Mic - if nothing else, this is a lesson for all of us in pure dogged determination and patience. You are a better man than me, that roof would of put me in an institution hahahaha. Well done mate, big achievement.
Fantastic mate was hard to comprehend what you were doing but once all the pieces put together bloody looks great 👍
How much did the original flybridge weigh? Also you could consider tinted perspex in the roof in place of the oval insert. Might save weight and let some light in.
Looking so good
Cannot wait to see her finished 🍻
Cheers mate, thanks for watching! 🍻
Oh my best friend you are a bloody legend, looks fantastic, 👍🏼
Thanks mate! You’re a bloody legend best friend for always leaving me comments! Hahaha
I love it! Well done! So much work but seeing the smile on your face was so good.
Very happy moment for me caught on video lol
I’m worried I’ll cry like a baby on video once it’s in the water lo see how that turns out haha
Roof looks awesome. Just get it done 'as it is' mate. Its going to best Bertram on the water. You will always see jobs in something yourve done yourself. Park those niggling thoughts. You Can always do a second version down the track and you risk going down a rabbit hole.
Thanks mate! Trying my hardest to just get it done lol 🍻
You are a true visionary! To be honest, I was having some difficulty envisioning how the roof was going to come together. However, after this video it all made sense. Great job! You should be really proud of your accomplishments! The roof looks amazing! Personally, I think the brim looks aesthetically good. Keep it up!
Thanks mate! The last few videos made it look confusing but it was a very simple idea I thought. Lots of wood cutting, sticky tape and screws….. and a bit too much Fibreglass! lol 😂 I could’ve shed a lot of weight if I didn’t make it so thick…. But she’s strong at least! I always worry about things breaking so I lean towards strength over performance… she’s gonna need a bigger motor! 😂 🍻
Bloody fantastic mate have been watching the journey the whole way keep up the great work she going to look awesome when it’s done
So happy to hear! I really appreciate your support! 🍻
All the pain sweat and tears are worth it mate. Looks amazing. I’m re-building a 24 foot savage flybridge. No way would I do a roof like yours. Way over my pay grade. You’re an artist mate.
Hahah thanks mate! Bit over done but awww well it’ll look cool!
Bloody awesome. Great build. Really enjoy the blobs
Thanks man! 🍻
Happy to hear you like the blobs! Lol
Really coming up beautifully big fella! Your vision is just incredible, being able to pull this together the way you have is nuts. As long as the weight can be supported that's all that matters. In your next life you should arrange movie music scores - your skill at capturing the mood with your music tracks is genius! Hope you guys all had the chance to take a break from things! 👍✌️🚤
Thanks heaps mate! Takes me ages to find music for the videos so I appreciate you noticing my effort 😂 🍻
It looks great on the boat. Well done
Thanks mate! 🍻
The roof looks incredible Mic, one thought from my perspective is to glass bolts into the top so the other pieces have studs to secure with nuts and to cover everything on the inside look at vehicle headliner material. High quality marine cement headliner would hide all the fasteners while giving it a finished look. Just a thought and it's cheap. 70 Kg, she really is a beefy girl wow, now with the top up from the actuators that weight is going to be pretty high, I am still a little uneasy about stability, you removed an entire engine, if memory serves me correctly, you went from two engines to one right?" so you removed some ballast that sat really low in the hull and applied a lot to sit really high now. I definitely am not saying to stop or not do this but maybe have the weights and balances checked, easier to make changes now before having to recover her then make those changes lol
I think a fly bridge would still end up weighing heaps more than whatever I end up with. I did pull a motor out but I don’t think it’ll be an issue. Time will tell?? I’ll change it if it’s a problem later once it has paint. Once I complete the majority of panels in the hull I’ll drop it in the water to check how she sits! Looking forward to that part!
Thanks for your support as always! 🍻
Fantastic Mick.
🍻 🍻 cheers!
Bloody genius!!!
Thanks man!! 🍻
Looks awesome Micington. I reckon you should do exactly what you think. Look how that’s gone so far. Keep it up brother!
Thanks man! 🍻
That was a really good couple of videos posted together and the roof come together really well in the end not sure on your grab rail idea under the roof though and lifting the tail section to a upward angle as I thing it looks much sleeker the way it is , grab rail idea as it's a short roof and fishing rod storage utilise a rocket launcher on top of roof with grab rail incorporated into that if utilising as family fishing boat as rods on roof are always out of way this way also as for total weight it's not that heavy when you can also incorporate up stairs helm situated on roof seats and then to body masses so I think you have nailed it mate 👌
Thanks mate! Happy to hear! Lots of effort into videos as well as boat so it means a lot! I hope I don’t need to snap the back of the roof and I’m hoping it’ll look sleek and not “home jobby”
I think it’ll be fine without a grab rail cos it’s so low when it’s down. I was gonna use the old rod holder out rigger setup it came with. You can see in first videos or old videos. Thanks for your support as always! 🍻
Looking great it was worth all the effort 👍
Lots to finish but thanks heaps!
One word Mic... WOW!! (I was gonna use 2 words, with the second word being "me" but it's maybe not appropriate to swear on your channel)
The really good thing about heavy is that It's not going to be flimsy.
My wife says I overbuild things, she also says if its worth doing its worth over doing... she's a pretty clever woman.
Keep at it mate, you're defo going in the the right direction, and the LEDs are gonna be breathtaking at night I think.
Much respect from Scotland, stay safe and keep having fun
Hahaha 😂 thanks mate! Better to over build then not build strong enough in my opinion 😂 🍻 🍻
Roof looks killer fiberglass will surprise you how much it weighs. Awesome work as always.
Thanks mate! Basalt cloth is even slightly heavier! 😂 🍻
Looks fantastic Mick - getting closer!!
Thanks mate 🍻
In the tenacity stakes you are 11 out of 10. It looks awesome Michael
Hahaha thanks mate! 🍻
@@Micington Remember that nothing on a Berty is lightweight.
What a result 👌👌👌
Thanks! 🍻
Looks good mate. Really starting to come together
Thanks man!
You are on a roll my guy.
Thanks Mate! 🍻
The hand rail is a must have I think
Haha I might add it later to the back of the roof??? See what happens 🍻
Great job! Very cool! Might consider adding a center hatch with smoked Plexiglas that you can open for ventilation or just smoked Plexiglas on the center oval! Time to celebrate with a couple of Coronas!!
Cheers! Haha yeah Coronas are in order!🍻 I think when the roof lifts up with the actuators it’ll be plenty good ventilation! But sunroof definitely crossed my mind when I stood under it seeing how cool it looked from inside! 🍻
Keep going mate looks good
Thanks mate 🍻
Wish I saw this video earlier 😂 I have made all those mistakes building jet skis of you need advise let me know with that cnc you could have built that mole in layers or ply and slot them together it’s how I made my ski mould :) but love the commitment I remember the itchy nights hahahah
Haha true!! I’ll check out your channel! Did you put it on TH-cam? Hate being itchy! 🍻
Looks great, really taking shape now. I'm not seeing any plugs been done though for when you build mine.
Hahahah if it’s too heavy I’ll make molds out of it for ya! Hahaha 🍻
Morton was good today!
Looks GREAT ! Love the flagpole and movable dinner table idea ! You are almost as famous as your Beautiful wife ! lol Cheers !
Hahahaa 🤣 ahhh mannn!! I’ll never measure up to her 😂
🍻 🍻
Looks awesome on the boat! Great job
Cheers mate! Much appreciated 🍻
👌🔥💪
🍻 🍻 🥂
Counter sunk with captive nuts , using drilled and tapped flat bar? If you’re worried about countersunk you could use those anodised motorbike fairing washers . Although probably a bit ugly?
Thanks for the suggestions! I was thinking along the same lines! See how it turns out. I really wanted it to be easily removable. Having the rings how they are in this video would be easiest way I was gonna glass the ring to the panel that removes and bolts and nuts in the recess but that makes the ring space down. So it’s doing my head in now lol 😂
Time will tell!
ABS those sections, way lighter in the roof, or Vacuum form ithem
Have you got any suggestions for anywhere local that does parts 3m x 3m approx? I would still have to complete to top of the roof first to ensure it held its shape yeh?
@@Micington 3 x 3 is a big bed to vacuum form. i know of a company here in melb that has large table, but i doubt its that big. What about doing it in sections? or just infuse it with soric and foam.
Your a Whirlwind releasing videos
That’s all of the footage gone now I’m afraid…. Which means no more daily videos sorry.
