I really like that you're showing this on an acoustic guitar because most people think they have to play the blues on electric the original Blues was never played on electric they didn't have electric guitars thank you so much

What a fantastic easy way to pick up a lesson. After a couple of rewinds I'm now playing something that actually sounds like the blues!! I've waited ages for something like this! Wish I knew this when I was a fresh faced teenager but hey! Never too late to enjoy. Thanks. Great stuff

swiftlessons hi! I agree with you on this. I actually said to my wife earlier that isn't funny how sometimes you JUST know you're going to remember something as soon as you've heard it yet other times some things can just go over your head no matter how many times you've tried to get it!! Thanks again from Scotland

I was expecting you to describe Albert's box the way a lot of people do. But nope.... One of the best explanations I've seen of the actual position BB used so well. Good job.

Yes, your pretty much correct. However, his periods of playing change when you really study him. I do study his late 50’s early 60’s period. So, yes. Good video to start learning about playing like Mr. King. I liked it. Your honest, young, and I sincerely hope you’ll pass this along. I’m old and won’t be around much longer. I was able to see him before he crossed over. Huge difference in his periods and development over the years of his career. I’ve studied him since 1967. Still do. It’s never ending. Happy to see you doing this!

So I gave this a try and I really liked it. I’ve known about BB’s box before but this lesson opened up a new way to approach it and on a slightly different spot on the neck, plus a real clever way of finding it. Good lesson. Sometimes these TH-cam guitar lessons can get a little...I dunno, hard to follow. Not this one. Real easy to follow and straight to the point. Keep up the good work.

I have looked around for lessons, I been trusting my ear but I've been stuck & your explanation is great. I didn't know lots blues are in C or G7 I think you mentioned that , but for general music theory you really are good teacher, I had way too many tutorials I m sorting out cuz some just deal with particular song or piece I'll keep n some well I don't want to talk negative but WOW if you get my drift. But loved that BB box lesson in any key well Ciao gotta listen again till I'm solid with it Thanks again, I am subscribed.😯

Awesome! Ive been messing with the bb box but resolving on the I, IV, or V brought it home. I started to sweat when you brought in the music theory but i hung in there! I slways used the 3rd way of finding it ( octives) but i will now use the 1st.

    Great lesson.
Its nice to borrow a bit of BB in the major pentatonic..but mixed with minor for me. Its like the minor scale and minor pentatonic switching associated with Santana. BB himself didnt switch much in a major 145, and saved his minor blues for a minor blues song....but I find it nice to switch all the time between the 2.
He did have principle based on what he "felt" was right. Perhaps he felt maj blues was happy, and minor blues should be sad. who knows.
