Thabk you for all you do and remember trumpets lead the way!
A wonderful resource!! Every trumpet student and player should be familiar with this. Thank you!!
The "How-to" breathing I've literally never heard in my life. It's brilliant.
Many thanks to the generosity of the United States Army Field Band, and their professional personnel.

So finally I made the jump and bought a student trumpet in Bb. The journey begins and I will use this video as fabulous starting point to learn this very nice instrument. Thank you again for your great job. Franck from France.
It is amazing how our army can have trained killers and trained musicians.
King David: killer & muscian Solomon said it best. "There is nothing new under the sun."
These lessons are all very well put together and fantastically useful! As a cadet forces instructor in the UK I really appreciate you making these publicly available. Many thanks.
Adam Fowler That's awesome. Glad you find them useful
As a trumpet player this has always been my go to all the way from middle school to college.
Glad it's helpful!
@@ArmyFieldBand I'm using it now to get back to the skill level I was in college now that I did 4 years in the Marine Corps.
Makes me Happy to see the progress of our men and women in uniform ! A warm pleasure to see and listen.
This is a Great gift to the whole world! Good for everybody, Pro & Beginners.. and intermediate... Thanks America!
ganelio Thank you. Glad you like it!
You can use whatever pattern suits the situation. Brass players often use TTK in fanfares where a strong accent is needed after the triplet (TTK T). long patterns of triplets are often easier alternating T's and K's, such as TKT KTK TKT KTK. Whatever works for you is fine.
Im an intermeadeate player and i had problems with a pinched sound. This video (and a larger mouthpiece) helped me fix that.
Hey that's Ginger Turner! Awsome! When she was in Phoenix she played every kind of gig you can use a trumpet on and she was brilliant every time. Some my best best experiences in that town were playing next to her. A true virtuoso.
Ohh wow
Trumpet is life
at 1h06 he is playing one of the etudes from Allen Vizzutti's Method Book for Trumpet.
The resonance of that room is astounding!
my band instructor was in the military I think it was the army but I'm not sure. i was very excited when he sent this to us and it was by u guys. the military just does not get enough appreciation for all u guys do keep up the good work!

This really is a tremendous learning tool. Wonderfully complete. Thanks for posting!
this is a vídeo for generations... For sure, within few years we'll have lot of trumpeters made thru this vídeo... Congratulations! Fantastic job!
THANK YOU, Sir.
You are very welcome!
That is "Someone to Watch Over Me" by George Gershwin. Originally from the musical Oh, Kay! (1926).
soon i'll have a kid to teach trumpet during my pedagogical practice and i didnt know whence to start, thank you!
You're welcome!
The guy at 4:55 sounds like the guy from the fitnessgram pacer test.
AJ Schlemmer bruh😂
I was WONDERING why his voice sounded so familiar XD
This is fantastic lesson
Until I watched this video I had no idea that the trumpet could sound so beautiful and so smooth, especially in a trumpet ensemble.
Emilio, the song that SFC Johnson is playing is 'Someday My Prince Will Come'. The song was written by Larry Morey (lyrics) & Frank Churchill (music) and was first featured Walt Disney's animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
Thank you so much for these videos!
Soy un Ecuatoriano de la Fuerza Aérea.. y le doy mis agradecimientos por esta información en el área de la trompeta .... Bien amigos de la Armada de los EE.UU... Saludos

Gracias por estos videos, son excelentes.
That army field band uniform has a strong resemblance to the Marines' dress blues uniform. It looks sharp.
Love this

Thx a lot :)
I like trumpet very much ^^
from kingdom of thailand
The opening is beyond.
It depends if you're still a beginner or more advanced and if this is a normal thing for you. The best thing to do is to get a teacher who can see and hear you in person! When my tone isn't very centered, it is usually because maybe I drank too much coffee that day, I'm nervous to play, or my air support is poor. Sometimes good ol' practicing will cure it because you'll get stronger if you practice correctly. Always stop when you're chops or mind are tired! Good luck!
A very good video. It covers all the areas you will practice in learning the trumpet, at various beginner and intermediate levels. Best advice is get a good instructor though. Giving a beginner Arban's and saying "have at it" is a lesson in frustration - they have no idea the purpose of an exercise or how it is supposed to sound. You need a plan to progress, and help make those small changes in practice that lead to big results. With an hour a day practice, this is 2 years of condensed info.
gostei da apresentacao do metodo! vou procurar comprar!

Very helpful video. Thanks a lot. Where does the staccato exercise played at 1h06 come from?
What is the song played at 26:55? It's the beginning of the Range and Endurance Chapter. I can not seem to find that song listed in the Credits at 1:27:50 and I would really like to know what it is.
I love playing trumpet. I wonder what song that was at the beginning of the Chapter one? Hopefully one day I can play in a Army band.
Summon the Heroes by John Williams
What piece is being played at 1:21:39?
Does anybody happen to know the name of the song on the title page for "Starting a Beginner?"
What is the trumpet choir they play in the introduction as a section?
This is great! Now can you parse each chapter into a lesson for us? It would be more manageable, and easier to find content.
Good idea!
The gentleman who played the flugelhorn has a beautiful sound on the flugelhorn--2 qs-what make and model is the flugelhorn and what mouthpiece ie make and model is he using?

I am beginner this is the first and best training I have come across, Can I order this from you direct? or tell me how to obtain this teaching DVD.
What song is being played at 12:40?
What trumpet does he play on at 2:15?
How can I get an original copy of the DVD? I looked on the site and it is not for sale. It seems like you need to represent a school or other institution, it that right. Please let me know. Thanks!
There's something I've been told that directly contradicts one of your teachings. When warming down, I was told to play loud, low notes so the lips could recover, but you recommend softer tones. Should I change my warm down exercises to use softer dynamics?
Well, yes and no. Try doing a mix of both.
Where do you get audition music for 42r trumpet?
Send us an email via our website www.armyfieldband.com and we can put you in touch with Army Music.
