The last could be an allusion to hell (Lucifer Morning Star) whether literal or just as a difficult time. There are others. I tend to view it as spiritual rather than religious. It is a beautiful song however people interpret it.

Certain classic - chart topping - songs haven't been reacted to yet...by anyone, and one such recording is "Where Do You To My Lovely" by Peter Sarstedt which got to number one in the UK in 1969. It's certainly not your average pop song. I think you'll like it.
