The 4166 was a follow on of fhe earlier 4156 tractor and was built for broadacre work rather than row-crop work. It is interesting to see this tractor working alongside the more row-crop suitable 4366.
Herb Houston probably a gear change. The 4366 has a truck tranny. The downside to that is no powershift but you can change gears and ranges on the go without stopping, which was something big in its day
I have the opportunity to buy a 4166 close by for 7500. I really want a 4166 and this one runs and goes, but lacks brakes. When I checked it out the brakes are fine. It was something to do with the pedal is the best the owner could tell me. Everything to do with the pedal looked right. Can anyone shed a little light on what might be going on here for me? Simple cheap fix, or does this signal some major issue? I'm not an expert mechanic by any standard
A few hundred acres spring and fall. We have moved away from tillage and used the 4366 on a 12 row planter for awhile. Now just a little tillage in the spring and backup for the planter.
Classic IHC tractors great tractors and the sound of those melrose park 400 series engines is music to the ears ,long live the old inters.
Had a 4386, one of the last ones made. Love watching this video, just wish I could smell the dirt and & diesel!!!!
Nice pair of old work horses. Thanks for sharing
Nice tractors. Ive had opportunity to drive 4366. Disked a few hundred acres with 28foot 496 disk. That thing is a pulling SOB

I call them 43's "baby Steiger's"...
The 4366, 4568, and later 4386,4586 & 4786 were all built by Steiger and powered by IH engines.
Nice pair of IH tractors.
The shank bushings need replacing on the smaller chisel.
@Leafs4eva1986 they dont need duals and the one doesnt have duals it looks nice
Great video.

How many acres do the tractors work on?

Big tracters, small cultivators!
i would rather have one of these over a 2+2 anyday
Get some water in those tires m8, you'll get better traction
good honest ole girls here , magnificent
what's the tire size on the big tractor? I have a 4568 with 30.5 32 singles and want to put duals on it
Chuck Collier most of them has 18.4 -38 duals with 30.5 inside tires though 24.5- 32 will also mate up
Cool old 4wd's!!! But I would take off that ugly looking cage on that 4166.
why does a big tractor like this need duals?they look ugly with duals
seeing that its 6 years ago I assume you figured it out now?
traction!
