How to install LED C-Bar Daytime Running Lights on Ford F-Series & Bronco (1987-1996) FULL TUTORIAL

- I noticed there was no information about this online anywhere, and the kit comes with no instructions. So I figured it out and I decided to lend you guys a hand too by showing you haw to do it. Nothing is more frustrating than getting excited about doing something like this and they don’t even tell you how to do it. So here you go. I tried to be as detailed as possible so I hope this helps you guys out!
This video applies to all Ford F-Series and Bronco vehicles from 1987-1996. That includes F-150, F-250 and F-350. It's all the same stuff as far as wiring goes. This particular headlight design only applies to the models between '87-92 I believe, as I think in '93 they changed to the turn signal under headlight design. This will still work, they just won't be period-accurate, but I prefer these ones anyway, myself. :P - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต

I bought both sets on eBay. Tail lights were $150 and headlamps were like $230 or something IIRC

Glad to help! No I’ve had these headlights (and matching taillights) on for over a year now and haven’t had any such issues.
Great! You’re right that the camera doesn’t quite capture the brightness/look of the leds
So the black wire goes to the power source (in my case from the fuse box takeoff) and the white wire goes to ground? Can it be a ground that’s bolted to the frame or does it have to be a wire? Thanks
Black should be ground. It can be frame ground yes just any ground. Then the white wire should go to the running lights wire. I Just wired them both to that plug because it was easy reach and looked okay
What brand C-Bar assemblies did you use? And how are they or how did they hold up until now?

What if I don’t rewire? Will the led bar still come on if I manually turn on my headlights?
I chose to swap the markers for the LED bar. But you can just hook the LED bar to the same wire as the markers and have them both come on if you so choose. But the wires on your LED have to be connected to those marker wires.
Any chance you have a link for the new led bulbs? Or conversation kit? I'm doing this project on an 88 Ford f250 next week.

Do your amber front marker lights come on with the running light
No I specifically wired them not to cause I didn’t want them to. Just didn’t think it would look good
So the running lights just stay on when you turn the engine on. Or did you have a switch to turn them on
They turn on when the headlight switch is pulled one click out, just like they did originally. Except now they’re led bars instead of the little bulb
Just curious if I wire the positives into my blinkers instead will it blink?
Yeah it’ll do that if you hook it to the blinker wire instead.

Installed em exactly as u did and i dont have front turn signals it just brightens the c bar light when i just the turn signal. Any help 😅
You got your turn signal wire mixed with something else. Remember you should have 3 wires coming out of the plug. One is ground, one is turn signal and the other is marker light. Don’t cross them.

@@colbyhowlett3088 don’t forget to use your multimeter and test the wires before you hook them up. You can’t trust the color codes on a wiring diagram. So turn on your marker lights. One wire should suddenly have 12v or so. Then them off and turn on the turn signal on the side you’re working on. That ~12v signal should come and go. That’s the turn signal wire. You want to hook the c bar positive to the MARKER wire. NOT the turn signal.
You should note that I did not hook up the c bar to my turn signal circuit. Only the markers. My turn signals remained as only the bulb in the socket.
Was that the brown wire or black that you cut?
I’ll take a look in my truck after work today. You can find the right wire if you have a test light or multimeter though.

You can wire it that way, I believe, but I chose to have it all as a solid DRL

@@dnovolltage7550 if you have it, look at it and make sure the side bars are wired separately from the top and bottom. I sold that truck so I can’t look at it and confirm anything

@@FredyGarcia-rv2js these DLRs are very bright, but they’re just that. Daytime Running Lights. They’re not legally adequate for anything other than a cloudy day. As far as the beam goes, that’s gonna come down to the actual bulb you put in there.

Hello. As stated in the video, the turn signals are still as they were originally. All this mod does is separate the running lights circuit and run it to the new lights instead of the bulbs that the turn signals use
