Just a couple things about superman in comics: 1. Superman has consistently shown he holds back even when he is supposed to take things seriously, he still pulls punches. 2. When Superman loses to Batman it is because Superman and Batman are actually incredibly close friends in most stories, and Superman doesn’t want to kill his friend, while Batman being stoic and very cold due to the environment he surrounded himself in order to BECOME Batman does not have that issue. It was also admitted by Batman that if Superman were to really try, LIKE ACTUALLY TRY, he would be dead before the flash himself could blink. 3. Superman’s writers and DC themselves have always answered the question of “Just how strong is Superman?” With “He is however strong he needs to be” Superman is a character isn’t defined by ‘Can he’ or ‘Will He’ every GOOD superman story has been about ‘Should He’ and when superman isn’t facing that kind of conflict for the story it’s typically about can Superman hold onto hope so he be the beacon of hope to others. Goku is an incredible character and has some great qualities, but Superman’s stories are always built around a man who has the power to do anything but how should he use it. I love goku but superman will and ALWAYS SHOULD be top dog for superhero comics.
