CBR EP2- transmission repair

Trans gear replacement of third gear shatter and engine installation process. The bike made chattering noises when at idle and would sometimes engage 3rd and other times not. I’m this video we will tear it open fix it and reinstall the engine on the bike.

Unfortunatly this is a well known problem for 08-19 1000rr the 3rd output gear is structured poorly because the walls are so thin that they develop cracks specially if its a track used bike.The forever fix is a Nova Racing gear which is 60 grams heavier that the honda and the walls are much more meaty also it is hardened and a stronger steel is used so it never breaks even after heavy abuse.

I have the same problem. Is it possible to replace the gear without removing the engine?

I wouldn’t recommend taking the case apart with gravity working against you. That could be bad…

Did you use the new long crankcase bolt as the manual said?

That’s how it started! I’d suggest looking at it before it becomes catastrophic!
