I remember my Dad had a Sunoco gas station in Eaton Twp. in Northern Ohio. My older brother & I pumped gas & made sure to clean the windows & ask to check customer's oil. I'm 65 now. Boy, I sure miss my Dad & those day's back in the late 60's & early 70's!😢
I worked one summer when I was 16 y.o. back in 1976 at a Shell gas station and remember I was making $2.25 per hour and hi test gas was .57 cents a gallon. We offered full service, checked the tires, cleaned the windshield, checked the oil. Those were good times.
One thing I can say for sure is they are probably mostly gone. United States by and large would rather tear down than preserve what was once here. Imagine if the Egyptians took that view of their past. It is all about corporate greed. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you for this wonderful piece of Americana.
The station at 0:37 is still there on Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga but the garage is now gone.

I know what you mean Sam. I would so love to go back to those days myself. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for commenting!
Really nice nothing like a good old gas station
Like that owners had postcards made of their establishments...showed they were proud of their places and also served as advertising.

my uncle had a signal gas station in napa, california in the 1950s he worked very hard
Nothing like the fully modern stations as in the 70's and 80's.
I wonder what’s there nowadays of all the gas stations shown.

The Three Stooges gave super service! Yuck Yuck Yuck.
Let's go back gasoline style because in California electricity outages to high risk. Maybe no more electric vehicles.
we have to find a replacement for gasoline before we use it all up,,,i suggest hydrogen.
