removing arc web was the most tragic thing they've done, also incredibly unnecessary
Give Icarus dash to the prismatic subclass watch the warlock population skyrocket
Nah Solar lock is superior. Heal on res, ability regen on pick ups great supers, damage buff on demand with radiant yada yada.
Real, it's all I wanted.
@@fotis3v480you get all that on prismatic, prismatic is better with Icarus.
You literally just don’t have heal on res but get everything else and miter like what 💀
I would have fun with it in sixes but no ember of mercy and benevolence is meh
Arc Warlock is tragic in general
Vesper of radius slaps brother what you mean
In PvP maybe in pve arc is still potent.
Arc in general is tragic imo, i feel like its missing a keyword
Sure buddy. Outside of Prism existing, Arc Warlock is by far the best Arc sub in PvE.
@@jmfe10 this is a pvp channel
forgot to mention that one of the other aspect choices for arc warlock is replaceable by a FUCKING FRAGMENT on prismatic
Electrostatic Mind: Defeating targets with arc abilities or defeating jolted or blinded targets creates an ionic trace. Collecting an ionic trace makes you amplified.
Facet of Awakening: Rapidly defeating targets with light or darkness damage or super final blows generates an elemental pickup of the matching damage type.
with the way amplify can be activated passively from any arc damage kill, prismatic just gives you that passive when its equipped, no fragments, or aspects needed.
and you don't even need to use exclusively abilities to activate it, it can be just arc weapons, not just arc weapons that jolt. Granted, there is a cooldown on the fragment, but this can be easily offset by using an either an exotic weapon or armor piece, and with additional aspects and fragments available you might not even need to.
They gotta buff both melees again and possibly even rework the whole thing about Warlocks getting bonuses from being amplified, because it hardly even makes a difference in the first place.
I still wish they would've given Arc Warlock a new aspect with TFS, rather than Solar. Maybe even an additional class ability like phoenix dive.
Give warlocks some sort of class ability dodge so all classes have one lmao
I wish they gave Warlock a new super, too.
I wish they gave a New Super for Arc Warlock too.
@@Sagittarial-A-no
Agreed. Of all the five non-Prismatic Warlock classes, Solar was definitely not the one that needed a new Super or new Aspect. I would have said that Arc and Stasis Warlock were (and still are) in need of new tools.
prism is at worst a replacement for arc for all 3 classes, which means arc might as well not exist anymore outside of very few builds
nah arc titan has tools that’s prism doesn’t have
@@DeltaKreamsame with hunter
@@haydenbell1758not really
@@Ballsackeruuuuuu yes reallt: hunter offers a way more versatile play style in the vanilla classes especially golden gun and arc.
Prismatic Warlock has overwritten both my Stasis and Arc builds, tbh. Even Void, to a certain extent, thanks to the Osmiomancy+Verity exotic bond. I can only point out the Briarbinds build as a unique Voidlock build.
Warlock is Solar > Prismatic, Strand >>> anything else
If they gave arc warlock something similar to Icarus dash but with the mini super teleport animation that would be great, maybe make it jolt targets around you or have your next arc source damage jolt targets, it would play into the "disrupter" play style that it had before and fix some movement issues that the class has
Isn't... Isn't that the melee? Feel like something else could be thought of.
The “hello darkness” quote was great. All I see is smokes and clones in PvP

I didn’t play Year 1 so I didn’t experience Stormcaller then, obviously. In Year 2, when I started playing D2, Stormcaller was good at some things. Pre-nerf Geomag Stabilizers were excellent in Gambit and solid for the earliest GMNF’s. Later, before Arc 3.0, top-tree and bottom-tree got some unique buffs, and Landfall on bottom-tree Stormcaller was a solid PvP choice, for a short time. Then Arc 3.0 and Season of Plunder came along, giving Stormcaller one last big hurrah, before the great fall.
The current season in D2 is the sixth consecutive season where one can easily argue that Stormcaller is among the worst three subclasses, in both PvE and PvP. That doesn’t mean it’s useless; it just means it’s consistently outclassed. As Cammy eloquently describes in this video, Stormcaller has kind of been absorbed into the (Titan) Striker class, and more recently, the (Warlock) Prismatic class.
This season, I have a Prismatic Warlock build, a Voidwalker build, and a Broodweaver build. I’ll probably be adding a Dawnblade build, given all the Solar Artifact buffs in Act 2. I want to build a Stormcaller… but it’s almost not even worth the time to curate one.
I made a post about this exact thing prior to Final Shape release date and I'm bang on the money.
I actually preferred this build on pre arc 3.0 Bottom tree stormcaller. You would get the speed bonus from electrostatic surge which was nice.
Getaway artist with centrifuse in 6s is basically the only way I play arc warlock in pvp
30th anniversary Arc 2.0 Warlock was peak Stormcaller fun imho. I haven't picked that subclass again in PvP, sadly.
Edit: actually, shoutout to that Arclock Lumina+Boots of the Assembler build from 2 years ago with a Vorpal Glaive. That was a fun week.
One of my favorite arc warlock builds to spec into is chromatic fire. I use blinding special final blows as well and it opens up the choice to use a near endless amount of exotic primaries you wouldn’t usually see. Like chromatic fire with suros, or multimach with enhanced kinetic tremors is strangely satisfying. I’d say it’s more “meta” to run something like ace with an emp rift to one tap with firefly+chromatic explosion (yes I have clips but the damage is clearly bugged and shows a different number every time and never a full kills’ worth of damage so it is seemingly up to if the code decides you deserve it).
If Lighting Surge + Arc Soul is tragic I can't imagine what describes Behemoth lmao
As soon as arc web got removed a part of me died ill take arcweb over that stupid ass slide melee in a heartbeat
It’s such a shame because Arc has a lot of neat tools. A projectile melee that can splash over cover like barricades, Amplified for a speed boost, and so forth. But that’s all they have. They’re “neat.”
At least in PvE we have the absurd Spark of Beacons fragment to bully groups into a locker. And Fallen Sunstar for crazy ability spam.
kind of what happened with behemoth making lances. so much easier to make the stasis lance on prismatic than stasis, to make them at the same frequency behemoth has to have the helm on.
The only reason id run storm caller is to stack NTTEs turret with the the getaway artists arc buddy, now i can do it better on prismatic
I can’t believe how far the PvP sandbox plummeted after FS came out. Almost every ability was fined tuned so we didn’t have too much spam, though specter was still very annoying.
Now everything was thrown out the window it seems, they thought giving Hunters the most oppressive ability spam in the game and buffing their base kit a good idea.
First 2 minutes explains that bungie took from warlocks and gave it to other classes and called it “NEW” content. Same thing happened with voidwalker
This deadass happens to basically all thrmlight sublclasses for lock
I think electrostatic mind should include old arc web so you can regen grenades from jolt chains
You can use Point of the Stag with Elemental Capacitor and Golden Tricorn on Lumina Boots of The Assembler Arc Warlock to set up Bow 1-shots on a competent Bow Swap build even without all the stars aligning.
I think you made it look pretty strong. Enabling Lumina and two tap Ace is definitely good. The fast ranged melee is good too.
I'd really like to see a way to creatively use Bubble Titan. I don't see Bastion as very valuable since it kills your class ability and doesnt even change a lot of TTKs in optimal scenarios.
I’ve always been successful with getaway + empowering + centrifuge. Build a little into traces so you constantly have an flashbang in addition to the souls…
It’s a very good dueling/teaming build plus with a little mobility (lightweight shotty helps) you can really move with amplified speed booster. I used to pair centrifuge with an adept trials fusion with perpetual to really move and catch people off guard, to include gjake. Back in the day of barricade meta, amplified ball lighting over the top… was an easy kill. This is still pretty competitive but it is less so than it was a couple seasons ago.
Year 2 and 3 I played nothing but top tree stormcaller and bottom tree hammers in pvp. I know I was a bad person for abusing hammers especially, but man do I really miss both of them in pvp. There was nothing like sprinting off spawn and destroying the entire team with arc web nades.
I do have a favorite memory from playing Arc Warlock in Trials like a year and a half ago and using the super to take match point by popping inside a bubble for a triple. IIRC the end match stats showed that i did something like 10000 damage.
I main Ark Warlock, hope they buff the subclass...
Storm caller super is also busted on prismatic since they can use blink. Any movement problems it had is no fixed.
10:43 what a reward, bungie gave you straight up TWO SUBCLASSES 😂😂
that fusion at 6:30 !! gawdam!!!
Rift spam is all Arclock has left. I use LuminAssembler, seen people have success with Sanguine and Vesper too. Getaway with Centrifuse used to be a daily driver, but prism kinda took that over.
11:45 he let him jiggle peak 8 times. That’s exactly what I was hoping for when I first tried it out, but I’ll usually get clapped by a khovostov or something when I try peeking that much times 😂
To put it plainly I deleted my arc warlock build from the loadouts when prismatic came out and haven't looked back. Hardly used it even back before prism
I like arc warlock with sunstar and coldheart :) I used that a ton in witch queen
arc warlock goes crazy in gambit when you can use geomags to get chaos reach in time for the first invade
keep in mind stormcaller had the og amplified too
The Arc subclasses were so half baked 😢
Used to hate dealing with Arc Warlocks because of the arc chaining and the turrets. Now I have to deal with a stronger version, prismatic warlock.
I need arc web back... I miss it so much
I immediately ditched my arc warlock (that I had been maining since the rework) for prismatic since it just does everything arc did but better.
Hawkmoon+ Chromatic is nice, and a better blind playstyle than Ace +Vesper.
Another is double ECap with 120 HC + Occluded and getaway artist, but that works better with liar's handshake anyway. Alot of copium with stormcaller
S24: You spend 80% of your time in crucible run away swarm nades or blind.
as a player that's kinda bad at the game, i find maybe more value than the average pvp player in arc souls, pretty much exclusively because they save me from my own poor spacial awareness. in chaotic scenarios i lose track of my opponents really easily but being able to follow the direction the arc buddy is shooting helps me know what's going on. plus the extra forgiveness is nice when i whiff all my shots
I think I miss my Arc Web Arcbolt team wipes...
i was actually maining arc warlock up until the season before in pvp.
solar hunter vid next? i feel like the subclass is kinda forgotten about these days
It’s definitely not forgotten, it’s just that Hunter has much more potent new toys at the moment. A whole tool box of knives with unlimited uses, extremely easy radiant looping and three strong supers. It also has access to solar fragments which are among the best in the game.
It’s been a reliable and potent subclass for a long time, and so people are just having fun with prism (it’s also insane) and the new arc toys.
If any Hunter subclass needs help, it’s Nightstalker. The only thing it provides now is Omnioculus/Trappers Ambush. Bungie should really reconsider the pivot from supporter/debuffer to ninja. Bring back Heart of the Pack, give them a new melee and bring back the wombo combo.
Glad we're finally talking about how Arc 3.0 completely ruined Stormcaller.
Odd, I started using this sub class today. I would say the one advantage of using is..... It surprises other players. They can't believe I'm using it 😂. There's a split second pause in their thought and I swoop in and tickle them with my melee.
You get a Kamehameha
They just need to bring back Arcweb and it would be a good class again. I only got to experience the fun of tossing a nade on their home flag and getting a wipe for a little while since I started playing during 30th anniversary
I feel like he's going after terror wid this one😂
Even T uses prismatic for arc melee now
@@hal0justcal865it’s not just arc mele, it’s also the ace of spades in the video.

I came in thinking u missed the lumina setup
But still u managed to make me disappointed in my best stormcaller setup
Its just been a trend tho, with the "globalisation" of the classes alongside the 3.0 updates, warlocks kept on gradually losing their Identity and everyone does their old job, sometimes better still. I dont think Titans and Hunters were as affected by the removal of their uniqueness as hard as Warlocks.
Void 3.0 gave everyone the hunter invis but its SUPER hard to make happen if not on hunter. Titans kinda lost nothing much, only gained, and they still do ad clear with controlled demo and infinite shields, Warlocks uh... devour? Wait i could just pick up an orb on any other class.
Solar 3.0 was the Warlock's healing going to everyone else. So unless you needed a well, warlocks didnt really matter there. The only thing they got is a cracked PvP subclass with the smoothest movement techs. Otherwise, PvE every class does what they used to do.
Arc i mean you just made a vid explaining it...
And with prismatic i guess the only thing missing is icarus dash but if they did, there lowkey wouldnt be any point in picking a normal light subclass anymore
Only Stasis and Strand locks remains better at their job in the normal subclasses and not prismatic in PvE. For PvP solar is still goated tho
ALL IN ALL, yeah Rip warlock identity
they need bring back the chaining from old
You can drop the in "PvP"
what the title should be: arc warlock is tragic
Buffff arc warlock a lil !
I've been saying it since people started whining about titan viability. Bungie has no foresight when it comes to "balance" passes. Look at stasis pre and post nerf: actually unlocking all the fragments was borderline impossible if you didn't know how to froce the objectives week over week. Now look at the over hyped stasis reworks: ooooouuuu they fixed the inconsistency of shatter damage by making it not double proc but just giving the single proc double damage and practically noone cares about frost armor compared to jumping through hoops for the old DR and shards. Look at strand: woven lasts significantly less at base, suspension has been heavily nerfed so it just doesn't feel like its worth slotting in pve outside of me just liking wishkeeper, and they made wild swings to nerf threadlings instead of properly fixing the issues with the abilities that spam them like the clones and weavewalk so now the grenades just feel worse because of the nerfs targeting the wrong place plus the overall sandbox changes. Look at the whole titan kit: it has some braindead and I mean braindead playstyles like it always does (just like warlock has speakers sight and hunter has wormhusk and stompees) but most of its aspects do REALLY niche things that barely assist anything a titan really wants to do so after "balance" passes even if titan is still strong in some areas you aren't using half your kit which is a good bit of why prismatic titan feels underwhelming even if I am personally having fun with it. Bungie NEEDS a perspective shift. I am not a hater, I want the game to not just be better but reach the heights I know it can but because bungie has ZERO competition, no one is forcing them to innovate.
I miss arcweb so much
Crimils is so cracked
I know this is focused on PvP, but the only reason I run the Arc subclasses in PvE is to crank out as many Supers as possible and Jolt everything.
Terror is going to find you in trails 😂.
You made me miss sidezz
If yall wanna onow how strong Stormcaller was just watch an older sidezz video
I miss Middle Tree Stormcaller. Pulse Wave which was Ophidian Aspects at home. Ionic Traces spawned more frequently in PVP (sometimes on back to back guardian kills). The neutral game was great.
Or Terror, probably one of the best to play that subclass
Bungie if you see this please buff arc warlock!!!
They buffed flashing grenades? Could someone elaborate what happened? Or link it?
I believe it was just radius in pvp. Nothing super special. I think a true way to actually buff blind in pvp would be for it to disconnect melee lunge like suspend does. The amount of times I’ve full blinded somebody with a shoulder charge or grenade and had them panic melee and kill me while not even being able to see anything really ruins running the build in the first place.
@@alexandercervantes6976yeah I was going to say I haven’t seen anything different in behavior as I kept dying regardless while people are blind

Haha yes YES
arc warlock is tragic and always has been
Not back in the geomag days
Gimme arc web back
Arc warlock makes me sad, it had been my main subclass ever since taken king when it first came out, but since the subclass reworks arc warlock (and honestly all warlocks subclasses) got very weak with how bungie gave all the unique properties like ionic traces and arc web becoming jolt. And it shocks me how bungie hasn’t touched arc warlock since they buffed arc soles a while back… like it’s one of the weakest subclass in the game and you can’t throw any buffs at it???
I can already tell cammy is about to hurt my feelings 😭 I main storm caller and your title already worries me

Yeah right man, it was just a better pre-nerf ophidians. It would make melee fights so damn annoying lol.
Look how they massacred my boy :( used to be such a fun class but ever since subclass 3.0 it lost its identity and has only gotten worse with prismatic
Respect my main warlock please
Arc 3.0 was poorly executed imo.
Arc warlock lost its identity, Arcstrider's bottom tree was turned into fragments for every arc subclass + amplified's existence, arc titans lost nothing and gained stuff from both warlock and hunters that they had nerfed to be spread across other subclasses or outright stolen from them, and not only that - something I think was a poor decision about arcstrider was the choice to make Combination Blow a melee ability and Lethal Current an aspect. Lethal Current being a melee ability and Combination Blow an aspect opens up so many new buildmaking opportunities and makes balancing them across pve and pvp significantly easier, whereas bungie currently faces the issue where Lethal Current is never going to be good in pve because why would you run arcstrider and not run combination blow / liar's handshake, a world where lethal current is a melee ability and combination blow an aspect allows lethal current to benefit from combination blow and gives it a use-case in pve as a result.
Everything about arc 3.0 felt half-baked on launch to me, not even taking into account the fact that unlike the other subclasses, its subclass verbs are just... Jolt, Amplified. You may say, but they have blind! Blind isn't like the other subclass verbs, there's nothing that synergizes with blind, it just exists - its good, but thats it.
And now, as someone who loves the power fantasy of bladedancer, and who loved the playstyle of bottom tree arcstrider, I'm stuck in this awkward limbo where I both have what i want and don't have it at the same time with the way that they are implemented - i get a bladedancer super and its everything i want and i get blink jump, but i'm told that "arcstrider is already close enough" for anything else... i get half of bottom tree arcstrider in a nerfed form as fragments on all arc subclasses - the other half only while amplified with an aspect on hunter, but never in full as the power is focused on the other parts of the subclass with what I loved being secondary pieces alongside the whole.
Like, I genuinely feel like I'd appreciate an Arc 4.0 at this point.
Arc titans lost Frontal Assault when arc 3.0 dropped. If you dont know what that perk is then please look it up. It was insanely good.
used to love D2 pvp, now its literally unplayable?
