Peter Pan is one of the biggest improvements, as they took all the hidden villainous traits of the characters turning him into what he could have always been. Easily one of the best arcs of the show but agree with all the rest

I think "Ruined" is too harsh (unless you count Season 7). Maybe "unnecessary". I actually liked the Peter Pan episodes. The actor was phenomenal, I like the twists involving him and Neverland, and Peter Pan (even in the book) is a psychopath. He likes Wendy, but not only did he cut off Hook's hand, but he kills the Lost Boys if they grow up.
The writing wasn’t bad in season 7. The studio ruined any chance they had to develop the new characters by only giving them one season. Think about how much we still don’t know about our favorites after season 1. After season 1, I knew it was morally wrong to kill Regina, but if she left? I would have been fine with it. Expecting extensive character development in one season is foolish.
I think season 7 was unnecessary but I still liked parts of it a lot, but that can be said for every season. However, I also agree about be the development of characters being an issue and frankly would have preferred them to wrap up the loose threads from previous seasons instead. Admittedly though I was going in that season very skeptical when I watched it as the last couple seasons were not my favorite, the curse aspect was annoying at that point and, well, there were a lot of bad spinoff/sequels at the time and them continuing it felt like another cheap cash grab when you should have let the show ended. At least they didn’t have that musical episode like the previous season, I swear I nearly didn’t finish the show after watching that episode (no offense to the cast or those who liked it just wasn’t for me)
I still think Regina, Hook AND Rumpel are the GREATEST characters in OUAT! And was very disappointed to realize that you haven't include Rumpel at least as an honorable mention in improved section (and Cruella in ruined)

Rumple was a great character in the early seasons - until Bae's death. Because up until that point every bad he did had a purpose; it was understandable. After that, I feel like the writers didn't really know what to do with him. They already had Regina as the redeemed villain, thy didn't need another one of those, so Rumple had to stay gray-ish or even properly evil. The result was a character that made me scratch my head a lot. He does so much completely uncharacteristic, random evil stuff that feels like the writers just forcing him to stay evil even though he has no reason to. Him trying to have it all (I think that was season 4) at least made a bit of sense. Him taking all evil on himself didn't make a lot of sense, but okay, maybe it was the temptation of power. But then when Belle is pregnant, instead of working to earn her and the baby's trust, it seems like he does everything he can to prove himself untrustworthy, and that just doesn't make a heck of sense. Adult Gideon shows up and all of a sudden Rumple is back to reasonable and gray-ish good. Bobby Carlyle did the best he could with a script that was all over the place from season 4 onward. And honestly, that wasn't just his characters "development", it was most of the storylines. They went downhill quite a bit. Emma as the Dark One? Lame. Yet another family reunion with an evil parent? Lame. Baby stolen and brought up in a different universe, then returns full of anger and thirsty for revenge? This exact plot was seen on Angel as well as Charmed. To make a very long story short: The first three seasons really had something. But after that, things didn't get better. While I like some plot elements, and especially some characters developments (Regina and Hook), most of it frustrates me because it is so bad compared to the earlier seasons.
Captain Hook was DEFINITELY improved!!! 😍😍😍 I agree with you on Mulan, however, I enjoyed the Peter Pan plot twist as there are many theories that Peter Pan is the real villain so I thought it was great OUAT explored this. Yes, the father and son thing was a bit bonkers but then the family trees in that show are a bit bonkers 😄. Should have ended at season 6 but still one of my favourite shows. 🍎✨
Yeah I wish they had done another Rapunzel story like maybe having her as Regina's lost daughter. I liked the season 7 version a lot better than the season 3 version but still they did her dirty
loved this show but i agree, the last season was terrible and they were grasping at straws; Killian Hook was so fine and i loved his character development the most
I don’t think the season was terrible as a season standing alone. I feel that season seven should have been a spin off instead. That way all the characters could be flushed out more.
I loved season 7 apart from the awful wooden actress who played cinderilla she was awful 😖 I really enjoyed watching rumpled having his happy ending , and Alice was great in it .
Thank you I’m so glad someone else remembered that detail. Everyone else keeps seeing the empty lamp as an allegory or a reference to the loss of Robin Williams, which is sad, but they never established another genie Sydney was the only genie and he was still in the show so thank you that someone else remembers
@@AliG6252010 Like yeah, the show did some obfuscation (per se, obviously they didn’t want to be beholden to YNB despite using her) with Ursula in an early cameo, but obviously Sidney was intended to be THAT Genie and not a different one, and they kept to it
Fr, the best part of it was the very end, when all the world's come together. I can't tell if it's because I hated their depiction of Tiana and Jacinda, or if I found it unnecessary. There were some fun bits but everytime those two in particular came on my screen, I wanted to sign off, even on my fourth watch😂
You can't say Belle is an improvement... She was always used as the character people could use and forgave Rumple so many times going against her own values which is the opposite of what her character should be.
They made Hook a sx symbol but also foreshadowed Peter Pan & Wendy & Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare in the process but considering Leaving Neverland, they were kind of spot on with their interpretation
I'm shocked they didn't include the mess known as the Frozen arc in the ruined category. The arc wasn't terrible, but it paled in comparison to the Disney version and it felt out of place in the show at times.
Like the others said, Peter Pan was the best improvement ever! I loved him as a villain and him being the father of Rumpel was the sickest mindblow. Peter works great as a villain and the actor was amazing. It was my favourite storyline.
Instead of Peter Pan being on the list, it should have been Zelena … I know they were just trying to stick to Disney related only but for me, they ruined the wicked witch of the west because of her being upset with Regina and not their mom… Or even her biological father…… they should have came up with a different reason for Zelena and Regina to have a feud
Oh yes Kilan Jones. Sooooo dreamy. Loved Rumple as well, and Snow. So many characters were given much more depth. And I loved watching Henry grow. But yes some characters were just ruined, especially Aladdin and Jasmin. And I love how Peter Pans true nature as a villan was accurately depicted in OUAT. also, who knew that Regina would become one of my favorite characters
Hey MsMojo, I'm a huge OUAT fan and I love your videos about the show. Do you think you could do a video ranking their villains? They had so many and some of them were really good, and others not so much. Looking at you Gothel from season 7.
They ruined Merida. They could have done so much more with her They improved on the queen of hearts (cora), making her more than just an I'll tempered woman
We have to remember that Pan was a villain already, he took children and tormented people, even in the original cartoon, he was selfish and a little evil!
I disagree with Peter Pan being in the ruined category. It was an improvement. I would put it in the Robin Hood place instead. I would put in ruined basically any storyline from season 7. But I agree that Mulan was the biggest letdown. She is my favourite Disney "princess" (she is not one, even though she technically is considered one for some reason). She is an example of bravery, resilience, honour, loyalty, and truth to self, and yet they let that convulsive storyline change her character. I preferred if they did a season exploring her world and she would be a protector with Shang. I would prefer that storyline instead of the Heroes vs Villains thing or that long season 6 drag.
Peter Pan is actually a real improvement. Analyze his character from the books and even the way other people portray him in their versions such as Broms The Child Thief. Peter Pan is actually a very twisted character. Disney lies to you so never forget it. Plus if you say that Captain Hook is an improvement you pretty much contradict the entirety of why Peter Pan is a villain this time around.
I have to disagree, I love what they did with Peter Pan in OUAT. Captain Hook became a hero so it is a good balance to make Peter a villain. I loved the backstory. His season was my favorite.
He was revealed that he never was Peter Pan from the beginning. H was really an original character, Malcolm, who took the identity of Pan. You ought to know that already.
Nop, you can't tell me the best plot of the show ruined the original film. Peter pan being a villain is genius, Peter pan being the most disgusting villain in ouat is a fucking masterpiece storytelling. S3 is so good, like come on!
OUAT also did a grave injustice to King Arthur. They literally butchered his character. I was so disgusted by the portrayal that I stopped watching the show altogether.
I cannot stand OUAT's Belle. She constantly takes back a piece of sh*t old enough to be her father. And she treated Hook like he was some terrible person while being in love with someone far worse.
@@englishatheart To be fair she only treated him badly in S2 and it was justified considering he tried to kill her twice especially when he shot her. Like I also hate how she always goes back to Rumple and actually their whole relationship but her friendship wiht Hook coming progressively in S3, S4 and S6 makes them one of the best dynamics of the show!
Pan being evil was a twist of the character! And worked so well Regina was the BEST! At her best was when she was turning good but still a little wicked. Wanted a better ending for her, her & Robin
Ms. Mojo, you keep running these OUAT lists and you make me want to watch the show all over again. I’ve already seen it twice. 😂 I love it. One of the best (until the last season. WTF was that? 😬).
I stopped watching around the time they brought Elsa and Anna in as by that point they were dividing the seasons into A & B storylines. They kept abandoning plot and storylines in “A” just to move on to “B”. The “A’s” should have been fully fleshed out and would have been great whole seasons. Also why and how was there 2 Cinderella? The Peter Pan arc was fire and the best update ever done for the character besides the Hook movie. I additionally, loved the twist that Red Riding Hood and Granny being Werewolves was epic.
I disagree with the Peter Pan one, my brother qnd I loved him and he's what made season three enjoyable for me along with everything else that happened that season.
Honestly I never liked Mulan's story because it was so weird how she was in love with Philipp first and then Aurora. Also that no Li Shang was there kinda bugged me. If they had at least given her a better love interest than Aurora - never really understood what Mulan saw in her, especially after being drawn to Philipp first.
I hated Aurora in OUAT but I'll give them at least credit for the burning room. I actually like that her sleeping curse was an actual punishment when she wasnt just unconscious but was stuck in a burning room to supposedly be alone in for 100 years. I could be remembering it wrong but I still liked the idea of that room.
I thought Peter Pan being the villain made since he wanted to remain a kid forever, instead of growing up and being the father Rumple needed. I'm also sad that Rumple himself wasn't mentioned since he's one of my favorite characters in OUAT. I do agree it wasn't fair Mulan had less screen time.
My favorite arc is the never land arc I loved the acter and thought it was only of the best arcs Peter Pan is one of my top favorite characters I don’t understand why you don’t like it I haven’t heard of anyone who thinks the never land was bad every one I have talked to has Sid that was great.
Reggina "shows what it means to be human"?! WTF?! She's a psycho murderer! Also, Pan's portrayal is definitely an improvement. They did The Huntsman dirty, should've put him in that spot
I disagree. What they did with Peter Pan was fantastic. If you make Hook a good guy, his foe would also have to flip. Peter Pan is selfish. I enjoyed watching Pan wallow in evil.

Thank you for putting more Once Upon a Time videos on❤
What?! Peter Pan was my storyline in OUAT!
Captain Hook was DEFINITELY improved!!!
😍😍😍
I agree with you on Mulan, however, I enjoyed the Peter Pan plot twist as there are many theories that Peter Pan is the real villain so I thought it was great OUAT explored this. Yes, the father and son thing was a bit bonkers but then the family trees in that show are a bit bonkers 😄. Should have ended at season 6 but still one of my favourite shows. 🍎✨
Not according to the rating drops Hook isn't.
Making Peter Pan the big bad was a major improvement.
Massacring my girl Rapunzel twice, on the other hand...
Yeah I wish they had done another Rapunzel story like maybe having her as Regina's lost daughter. I liked the season 7 version a lot better than the season 3 version but still they did her dirty
loved this show but i agree, the last season was terrible and they were grasping at straws; Killian Hook was so fine and i loved his character development the most
Season 7 was pointless, and ruined too many things
I agree. It should have ended at S6
I don’t think the season was terrible as a season standing alone. I feel that season seven should have been a spin off instead. That way all the characters could be flushed out more.
@@isisjames255 like the finale of Scrubs
I loved season 7 apart from the awful wooden actress who played cinderilla she was awful 😖 I really enjoyed watching rumpled having his happy ending , and Alice was great in it .
Literally watched the show for Hook.
Caption swan❤
Peter Pan ruined? Neverland a trainwreck??? That season was easily one of the best in OUAT, the heck is up with that?
To be fair, the lamp WAS empty. Because SIDNEY was the genie and he was Regina’s magic mirror
Thank you I’m so glad someone else remembered that detail. Everyone else keeps seeing the empty lamp as an allegory or a reference to the loss of Robin Williams, which is sad, but they never established another genie Sydney was the only genie and he was still in the show so thank you that someone else remembers
@@AliG6252010 Like yeah, the show did some obfuscation (per se, obviously they didn’t want to be beholden to YNB despite using her) with Ursula in an early cameo, but obviously Sidney was intended to be THAT Genie and not a different one, and they kept to it
I pretend season 7 doesn't exist
Fr, the best part of it was the very end, when all the world's come together. I can't tell if it's because I hated their depiction of Tiana and Jacinda, or if I found it unnecessary. There were some fun bits but everytime those two in particular came on my screen, I wanted to sign off, even on my fourth watch😂
i liked some of it, like wishrealm hook giving up revenge for his daughter and the rumple sacrifice but it wasn't needed
You can't say Belle is an improvement... She was always used as the character people could use and forgave Rumple so many times going against her own values which is the opposite of what her character should be.
Oh come on, Peter Pan being a villain is one of the best changes in the whole show.
They made Hook a sx symbol but also foreshadowed Peter Pan & Wendy & Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare in the process but considering Leaving Neverland, they were kind of spot on with their interpretation
Peter Pan was actually an improvement
I'm shocked they didn't include the mess known as the Frozen arc in the ruined category. The arc wasn't terrible, but it paled in comparison to the Disney version and it felt out of place in the show at times.
I honestly loved the Frozen arc because it was based on The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen which was the original source material for Frozen.
Please do Top 5 NON-DISNEY Sequels that are really good and Top 5 NON-DISNEY Sequels that missed the mark.
The Neverland arc was the best arc and what they did with Peter Pan was great! What they did horribly was Mulan
I like to block season 7 out of mind and pretend it didn't happen.
I disagree about Robin Hood. I find his OUAT version too bland. He could've been "edgier" specially dating the Evil Queen but he was pretty meh
They could have done so much more with her
They improved on the queen of hearts (cora), making her more than just an I'll tempered woman
Hehe. There’s a reason why we named one of my kiddos Kilian. Toooooooooootally (partially, lol) named him after Hook 😂
Hard disagree on Peter Pan. He was a killer villain, and the Neverland arc has one of the greatest, and most well done, twists ever.
We have to remember that Pan was a villain already, he took children and tormented people, even in the original cartoon, he was selfish and a little evil!
I don't know why, but I love it when y'all do the 5 things/events that were/are 👍 and 5 that were/are 👎
I disagree with Peter Pan being in the ruined category.
Peter Pan and Aurora were both improved, that they a villain or kinda a traitor doesn't make them bad characters.
How dare you to say that once upon a time ruined Princess Aurora. She is more brave, beautiful and adventurous in Once upon a time rather than sleepy.
Peter Pan is not ruined. I adored him in Once Upon a Time! They made him so so good!
He was not Peter Pan. It's Malcolm.
I loved the season 7 version of Cinderella and I love how she married Henry and had Lucy 😃
I liked what they did with Elsa and Anna. We got more back story and I loved their actors.
I kinda liked Peter Pan evil other than that I fully agree
Regina’s costumes were next level!
I loved the fully evil Peter, much closer to the character in the original book
Hard disagree with Peter Pan
Belle IMPROVED??? That’s outrageous. 😂 Her portrayal was awful.
It was hard to watch them making Red bi and then thinking that was going to be Mulans happy ending, only for them to shoehorn in Dorothy 😫
I don’t agree about Peter Pan they did a great job making him a villain
Wow, I thought Pan was the best villain the show ever had. I didn’t realize he was so poorly received. 😯
He wasn't (poorly recieved). Not sure where they got this from, but this is list is a dud for me.
@@byMidnyt I think they intentionally put an unpopular opinion so they get more comments.
Peter Pan was scary. he really got the villain part. Not like caricature villain as the trio of Ursula, Cruella and Maleficent, but actually evil.
Malcolm, not Peter Pan. It was his false identity anyway.
I loved Pan. He was one of the best characters
Peter Pan is ruined? Naw that hella wrong. Peter Pan was awesome in OUAT
Pan being evil was a twist of the character! And worked so well
Regina was the BEST! At her best was when she was turning good but still a little wicked. Wanted a better ending for her, her & Robin
Loved Peter Pan
Mulan, Aurora and Peter pan where amazing..
And how tf is Regina's bland boy toy be one of the more improved characters?
Ms. Mojo, you keep running these OUAT lists and you make me want to watch the show all over again. I’ve already seen it twice. 😂
I love it. One of the best (until the last season. WTF was that? 😬).
Yeah, Season 7 was trash .
Peter pan the best villan. Love that Arc!! ❤
evil queen/regina was ruined for me
I disagree with the Peter Pan one, my brother qnd I loved him and he's what made season three enjoyable for me along with everything else that happened that season.
Peter Pan in the ruined category when it was the best arc after season one is crazy.
Captain Hook 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I hated Aurora in OUAT but I'll give them at least credit for the burning room. I actually like that her sleeping curse was an actual punishment when she wasnt just unconscious but was stuck in a burning room to supposedly be alone in for 100 years. I could be remembering it wrong but I still liked the idea of that room.
OUAT was fun but when they made King Arthur a villain steam came out of my ears and curses out of my mouth!
Rapunzel was a big flop for them as well.
OUAT didn't change Peter Pan into a villain, he was always one. People just refused to see it.
I loved the villain turn of Pete Pan and his story arc.
