    "Where the Streets Have No Name" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the opening track from their 1987 album The Joshua Tree and was released as the album's third single in August 1987. The song's hook is a repeating guitar arpeggio using a delay effect, played during the song's introduction and again at the end. Lead vocalist Bono wrote the lyrics in response to the notion that it is possible to identify a person's religion and income based on the street on which they lived, particularly in Belfast. During the band's difficulties recording the song, producer Brian Eno considered erasing the song's tapes to have them start from scratch.
    "Where the Streets Have No Name" was praised by critics and became a commercial success, peaking at number thirteen in the US, number fourteen in Canada, number ten in the Netherlands, and number four in the United Kingdom. The song has remained a staple of their live act since the song debuted in 1987 on The Joshua Tree Tour. The song was performed on a Los Angeles rooftop for the filming of its music video, which won a Grammy Award for Best Performance Music Video.
    Bono - vocals
    The Edge - guitar
    Adam Clayton - bass guitar
    Larry Mullen, Jr. - drums

    Like most watching, you're my go-to and unofficial music teacher. Discovered you about 6-7yrs ago. I can never thank you enough. When the war in Ukraine started, I heard a news story about how the Ukrainian people removed street signs to confuse their invaders. Thought of this song. Wanted to hear it. And you popped up. I've heard the song 20 times since then. But not the original. Connie's version has ENHANCED bass. LoL Also, really like how your vids are made with more attainable equipment. This is HUGE to someone learning or feeling discouraged. I actually own that same Squire Jag you use. In sunburst. Went from active to passive with Seymour Duncan quarter pounders. Kept having issues, but loved the guitar.

    Thanks, Constantine! Recently found your channel & site. I'm a new bass player and I find it a great resource for learning and enjoyment. Currently playing the exact same Squire Modified Jaguar Special that you have. Found it used (mint) for about $100, but I've got my eyes on that MM V7 as my skills improve. How do you like it? Thanks again.....keep up the great work!

    Hi Constantine, great sounding cover! May I please ask, I have been playing bass for about 18months and I am looking to upgrade my squier affinity jazz bass to something better (jazz configuration). I have boiled down to a few being the Sire that you play here, the basic fender player series jazz, or the G&L JB. I know you play a lot of bass guitars and would appreciate your input/thoughts. Kindest regards, Graham.

    • @ConstantineIsslamow
      @ConstantineIsslamow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know personally, the Sire is a good bass for the money I spent. I enjoy my Squier vintage modified jazz bass more and costs a lot less. I'm looking at their new Classic Vibe 70's Jazz bass 5 string. I'm finding the higher end basses are just pricing themselves out of the market.

    It's not even time. But the bigger question is why any bass player worth his salt would even need a guide to playing an Adam Clayton bass line. I'll tell you what: give us a video of you playing a couple of Primus / Tool / Rush or Pino vids eh?

    • @michaelwilbanks8922

      He says that he plays the music he likes to listen to. Just because you enjoy playing an instrument doesn't mean you there is any logic to playing Primus if it sucks.
