Good job on the tutorial. Just for reference, those are straight pins. Safety pins are the ones that close up, hence the Safety part. Terminology is important in teaching.
🙄
Yes stretchy fabric you have to help push the fabric threw or it gets knotted and needle presses it down into the machine (from my experience with like polyester )
I have that same green fabric from Hobby Lobby. Got it for .58 cents. 😍
Thank you so much for such a great tutorial my headband came out perfect! I was going to buy fabric but decided to recycle old T-shirts ❤️
One could disolve sugar in warm water. Wet material in sugar water and let it dry. Cut and make headband and rinse the sugar water out. Material won't curl.
Thank you this was so helpful, made my first headband and I am like you I like my raw edges hidden so this was a great find for me. More headband tutorials would be awesome 🙏😇
Correction... They are STRAIGHT PINS. Not safety pins
Nancy Baker when you measure the head why do you subtract an inch? Thank you!
@@MsYayia If you don't subtract an inch, then the headband will *just* fit around the head but won't actually cling to the head. Subtracting a head makes it so that the headband has to stretch over the head and cling to the head. I hope that makes sense!
Several little mistakes like that, but still good info. :)
Got a bit confused on sewing 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 and 4 to 1 😳 Still not sure.
Wow!!! The best explanation I've watch. Congrats!!! Thanks so much. I just subscribed to your channel!!!
I’m so confused on the sandwich part!! It went from not being sewed to sewed. Someone send help please!😭
In case you didnt figure it out, she had sewn the pieces just before (with a straight stitch) and then opened them to expose the seam (in an M shape) then she straight stitched the previously sewn bits together, down the seam. I think I explained that correctly.
I was completely lost at that part too!
OMG I have no idea what I have sewn but it really is not a twisted headband sooo confused
@@mary-anneburt6411 Slow down the video that should help. I just finished making 2 Headbands today
That color totally works! My little girl has TONS of outfits that would match!
Love the twist headband
I need help. I have a twisted band that was given to me, I washed it, and the knot is all messed up. Can you show us how to fix the knot after it’s been washed???😢
Cute and safe to use for baby..
Thank you very much I was looking for a video that hides the seams after I watched a few I saw yours....thanks so very much
Can u go into more detail on settings like zigzag stich length eas of tgread?
Can u show how u cut the fabric I have a yard of the pink one and this being new to me it's overwhelming
Make sure your scissors are really sharp and you are on a flat surface and go slow. I know - knit fabric is so difficult to use!!!!
Hi I have 2 questions
if I am doing it with a cotton fabric is it the same method do I have to subtract 1 inch from the head measurement?
Also if I follow the chart still do I have to subtract 1 inch?
So when you sewed the ends together did you first sew the ends of 4 & 1 with a straight stich. Then 2 & 3 together? I kind of lost that part. The safety pins threw me off and something else in that part. Great video. Best one I have seen yet. I want to make these for daughter in law for her birthday tomorrow. I already have fabric. Just want to make sure it's enough.
I'm also confused at the sandwiching part at the very end. Sitting here with my headband almost complete and I don't understand how to finish...
I'm wondering this too. It's like a part of the video is left out
@@Zaelle Me too. Did you ever figure it out? I'm looking for help....
@@chittock1 Everything is there, all the steps... I just made 2 headbands today. You can slow the video down and that should help.
Super easy to follow! Great video! Thanks!! 😀
Thanks!!
Great tutorial and sewing instructions!!
I use a vintage Singer sewing machine. It doesn't have a zigzag stitch, is straight okay?
I just found your videos and I am so happy I did. Such great informative videos- thank you!! Will you be posting more knit fabric headband videos?
what is the backing material you used?
Spray starch will stop the curl.
Thanks for the tip!
Your welcome
Good to know! Thank you :)
I’m confused on the sandwich part
Me too it should have writing so well remember which piece is which
I think she trimmed that part! Not sure how it from open up the ends to pin it together.
I'm so happy!!! I just made it. I love your vídeo. You are the queen, take care!!!
tank you, i love
So why wouldn’t you just use one large piece tie a knot then only sew one seam? You could move the knot down to cover the seam?
I made several of these and would like to make bows to tie on them that I can switch out, what do you suggest?
What kind of material do you use?
Thank you so much for the videos! what a blessing...
Sandra Martins thank you
You indicate the fabric should be 16" - do we adjust if the head is smaller/
That 16" is for a baby's head. You really need to get the head circumference first as basis.
What settings do you use
The camera 🎥 don’t capture the whole project😭 It’s many people confused 🤷♀️ too here👇
Very cute
Can I know the name of the material
Help I want to finish but dot understand the sandwich part
super cute !
Beautiful and so well explained!! Thank you!
How thick is each strip of fabric?
So if I measure the head and subtract and inch, how long are the pieces? It wouldn't be 16in, correct?
Correct. She used 16" pieces so she must have made it for a baby with a 17" head circumference.
Ok so I followed this tutorial just fine the 1st time & I made it but now starting my 2nd one and I'm lost after pinning 2&3 then 1&2 then moving the 4 to front had me lost and the twist was gone😑😑😑
Ok i figured it out ya'll lol comment if you need help🤗
I need help she lost me after pin 1 and 2 🤣🤣
Yes also lost my twist
Hey, is it always 6" in width regardless on length?
Depends how wide you want the actual headband ...
I can’t find the measurements for the adult size headband
Me, too!
But i tried the adult size head circumference of 22" and it fitted me well!!!
I did the width wrong lmao. For some reason I thought you said 16" instead of 6" so we have a really wide headband 😂 other than that I love the details in the video it helped a lot
She did say that,
Hahaha why I am laughing at this 🤣 I swear I'm not trying to be mean! I'm just imagining a HUGE headband right now 🤣 totally something I would do!
6x16, 16 is the length and 6 is the width.
@@kembakirton3176 Isn't it only 16" if that is the head circumference you are making. I thought you said to do 1" less than the head circumference?
@@diane8715 You can use the Headband Size Chart as a reference depending on who you're making the Headband for. The length which is also referred to as the circumference of the head will always be more.
Is the size accurate
New to sewing do you have to use a special kind of thread?
No regular thread would be fine
This is very confusing as when twist / wraps were made the bottom of headband was not showing in video.
I dont know how many times I have tried to make this and I JUST cannot get it just thrown another one across the room!
Adorbs!!!
Do you use a heavier thread?
Christine Findlay no you don’t need a different or special thread.
I really wish you didn't have on the caption.. the writing is blowing the view
andweknow
Sizes for adult Turban
Cali Nicole I do mine 20” by 8”
Lmao the most important part was off the screen
Would hot glue work?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lol I’m so lost at the pinning stage
Came out nice but was big enough to fit an adult head
You are not using safety pins.
Yes I actually don't like using safety pins. They drive me crazy and slow me down. Sometimes I will use them :)
Very confused!! You need to show the entire project
You lost me at the sandwich
i like ur video
This has some major problems with explanations. Directions are not clear. Several parts of the video seem to be missing, so the final "sandwiching" steps cannot be completed. Please update this video so that the many folks who have commented below, including myself, can finish this gosh darn headband.
Her video makes perfect sense. Figure it out.
Devin Lewis Lol ok!
can i switch the sewing part and use hot glue instead? plz answer
i’m not her, but i’d recommend a fabric glue instead of hot glue! the hot glue will harden and look not as neat, but if you aren’t really concerned with the overall look/texture then you could use hot glue
carrie thanks!!
