I thought the HH GTG rye was far better than the other two and at $88 I didn't feel overcharged. The Traveler is not something I would buy but I did taste it and it was not that bad. Better than Gentleman Jack or Longbranch.
Excellent video! Just shot my worst and best o 2024 this past weekend. Baker's 7 HR made my list, too. I stayed away from Grain to glass b/c of all of the so-so reviews.
Respect how you do reviews that are not all good. Takes a lot of confidence to put these out. Very few influencers go this way. Cheers Judge on your reviews of enlightenment!
Nice video! I was not able to get the Cellar Aged this year. Passed on the Baker's. Traveler's is pedestrian. HH GTG is just ok. I needed the Parker's to have a better finish. Last year's rye was great!
So disagree on the Parkers Heritage! Spectacular higher aged US malt. Semi related, the Wheater Grain to Glass is performing excellently in wheaters of 24 blinds
Disagree on the GTG Wheated and the Baker 7 High Rye. Bought backups of both. The GTG Wheated has a nice sweetness to it and it by far was sold out and harder to obtain than the other two. So, many people did really like that one. Much better than their BiB. But thank you for your opinions!
Can't wait for the Middle West wheat bottle!! Agree about the Heaven Hill grain to glass bottles. Tried them at a bar, and was glad I did. Decent, inoffensive, but entirely unspectacular.
The Parkers is actually a straight malt, not a single malt, and they have released one previously in the series. Definitely a different flavor profile than a standard bourbon, but this mashbill has grown on me. Same distillate that was used in the Rare Character Exceptional Series. 🥃🥃
Thnx Jason. I liked it s little bit. I just think for it to be Parkers, it should be a core product. The malt should’ve been a new product line. That would’ve been more appropriate.
I just don't understand why people chase new expressions that are endorsed by celebrities. In addition, Maker's Mark is pumping out so many different bottles it's confusing. To many good bottles already exist on the shelves. Great review.
I have to try the Whiskey War stuff, picked up a HH grain to Glass bourbon haven't opened it yet, got it for $99 here in michigan, on the fence with the Bakers 7 high rye 🤔 CHEERS 🥃👍💯🎅
Am I allowed to ask if you can include my wife and I the next time you give C-bus a go? It would make both of our very old selves feel cool (hint, we are not cool but we are nailing old)! We normally have to visit our kids and grandkid in Maryland to hit whiskey cool!!! Enjoy what you are doing!!
Judge; absolutely agree with the Buffalo Trace Traveler bourbon. I bought a bottle awhile ago; it's not a good sipper and barely ok for a bourbon and coke. It was a complete disappointment and I will not buy another bottle. Thanks and keep the reviews rolling.
Love the list Judge! For me I going to say the one that was the biggest disappointment was when I got my first bottle of Blantons. I wanted to like it, but it's just not my jam.
I love these kind of list ! lol I definitely agree with Bakers. It’s def not my jam. I was also disappointed when I heard Parker’s was using a single malt for their special release
Jury is still out on the EH Taylor BP Rye, holding this one. Not sure if the bad reviews are from mostly non-rye guys or it's a potential for your next video of fails. Great list of your 5 disappointment whiskeys, spot on!
@@connieharris6553 A good friend said it's got a unique layered mid-palate and long finish-he loves it. Maybe I'll hold it until next year when there's none left and all the You Tubers are raving about how it's the best release since 2024 Coy lol...
Judge, you sound like a lunatic!! That was the best single malt I ever had! The finish was long and sweet. The palate was whoppers and yoo-hoo. That Heritage 14 yr is the best whiskey H.H. has released this year. Your honor the ppl intend on appealing this decision on the grounds that the Judge is biased against Single malts. 😂
11:20 I'm sorry.... the "Stay in your lane" attitude in whiskeymaking I think is so absolutely aggravating. It's what puts people against exploration in whiskey and trying things that should be good. It's what told all the major distilleries to never touch Curacao again after the delicious but financial/hype failures of the Willett XCF and (fittingly) the Parkers Curacao bottle. I don't see how it's any different to when they did the Heavy Char Wheat Whiskey a few years ago that's still pretty heavily loved by a lot of people.
To be clear.. I have no issue with them releasing a malt whiskey. Its just odd to put it under the parkers brand. S limited release should be your core products. Bourbon, rye and wheat my friend is a core Bourbon drinkers product. Strategy wise, they should create a whole new product line , such as grain to glass. Call it grain to malt.. lol.. thats my point.. cheers
K Luke toasted rye was s big disappointment for me. Good whiskey but no hint of toasted flavor and barely better then sagamore pics at 40$ less. I'm out of K Luke for my pallet
Hey, just wanted to share some honest feedback about your videos. I enjoy them quite a bit, but I realized I end up skip the first 4+ minutes each time before you actually get into the topic of the video. I don't hate the banter or other stuff leading up to it, but just feel it could be condensed. Again, not trying to hate, just some constructive feedback. Keep up the good work!
Traveller is priced at $55-$65 in rural areas, and people are paying it. I did have a small pour at a party and couldn't drown it iin enough Coke to make it worthy of drinking for anything other than getting wasted, but that's why Kentucky Deluxe at $12/1.75L exists.

I'm gonna watch it now!
@definitiveenergy1878 I should have both edited and out this week! 🥃
Cant wait to watch it Myron.. cheers

Appreciate you Tab! Merry Christmas sir.👏🏾🥃
I also avoided 3 of those. Never got the opportunity for the Parker’s or MM cellar, so the fomo is gone. Thank you, cheers Judge
Anytime Jimmy
Bravo!!!
Amen!

MM Heart Release was definitely a Big let down for me especially in the Pricing ..Big fan of MM, but this one was not worthy.
Can't wait for the Middle West wheat bottle!! Agree about the Heaven Hill grain to glass bottles. Tried them at a bar, and was glad I did. Decent, inoffensive, but entirely unspectacular.
I agree that the HH GtG was not worth the $120 range - but it was an interesting experiment in a new mashbill from them.
Indeed
The Parkers is actually a straight malt, not a single malt, and they have released one previously in the series. Definitely a different flavor profile than a standard bourbon, but this mashbill has grown on me. Same distillate that was used in the Rare Character Exceptional Series. 🥃🥃

Great show as always! While the opportunity presents itself, please let me wish you Happy Holidays (if I'm not being rude, Merry Christmas). Cheers!
Cheers! And Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you as well.

Totally agree! It just didn't live up to the hype.
Great job, as always, judge hopefully some of that cedar ridge makes it to the public(me) lol
Roscoe we have 10 bottles left. I just opened it to the public. Search cedar ridge on sharedpour.com
@BourbonJudge thanks judge.. Just ordered

Same here. 👏🏾🥃
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts that often save me money
Any time!
I don’t know if it came out in 2024 but I bought and tried it just a few months ago in 20024 and that is Knob Creek smoked bacon.
Eww that sounds horrible
@ i heard it makes a great old fashioned but I have not tried it but I do know it is horrible on its own.
five for five...great picks,

SLB didn’t like EH Taylor BP Rye either.

Cellar Aged 2024 is a hitter! You night want to try that one again bro😂
MM24 and PH are both great to me. Especially the PH. 🤷🏾♂️
When the Judge takes a sip and then sounds like the Pillsbury Dough Boy, you know it's good.
Lmao
OGD 16 was a disappointment for me, I wanted it until I saw price and lots of "meh" reviews
Have you tried it? I was skeptical also but glad I tried it because I thought it was delicious
@Steak701 i would love to, but no, I have not tried it. I am unwilling to roll the dice to find out.
I passed on the Bakers the other day!!

Fair points
Rule #1: Never choose a celebrity endorsed whiskey from a celebrity who doesn’t drink.

@@BourbonJudge Love the channel brother. I’m in South Jersey and not too far from you. Keep up the great work.

Even more reason to not put your name on it. 😅

“It’s open, it’s done” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 let’s go judge !!!
Lol
I don’t quite understand what people expect from Travelers. It’s shelf blend that’s only around 20 bucks…..try blinding it against Weller SR😉
I can get Weller SR cheaper than Traveller in my area, I want to try it but I’m not paying $50+ for it. The Weller SR goes for $30-$35
Traveller is priced at $55-$65 in rural areas, and people are paying it. I did have a small pour at a party and couldn't drown it iin enough Coke to make it worthy of drinking for anything other than getting wasted, but that's why Kentucky Deluxe at $12/1.75L exists.
