- Mega Man X3, known as Rockman X3 (ロックマンX3) in Japan, is a video game released by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The game was originally released in Japan on December 1, 1995 and later in North American and PAL regions in 1996. It is the third game in the Mega Man X series and the last to appear on the SNES. Mega Man X3 takes place in a fictional future in which the world is populated by humans and intelligent robots called "Reploids". Like their human creators, some Reploids involve themselves in destructive crime and are labelled as "Mavericks". After twice defeating the Maverick leader Sigma, the heroes Mega Man X and Zero must battle a Reploid scientist named Dr. Doppler and his utopia of Maverick followers.
Mega Man X3 follows in the tradition of both the original Mega Man series and the Mega Man X series as a standard action-platform game. The player traverses a series of eight stages in any order while gaining various power-ups and taking the special weapon of each stage's end boss. Mega Man X3 is the first game in the series in which Zero is a playable character (albeit in limited form) in addition to X. Like its predecessor, Mega Man X2, X3 features the "Cx4" chip to allow for some limited 3D vector graphics and transparency effects.
A 32-bit version of Mega Man X3 was released on the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and Windows in various countries. This version was included on the North American Mega Man X Collection in 2006. The game was also ported to Japanese mobile phones in 2010. Critical reception for Mega Man X3 has been above average. However, the game, particularly the 32-bit version, has received miscellaneous criticism from reviewers for its lack of improvements to the series.
Capcom announced that Mega Man X3 would be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console in 2014. It was released in North America on August 28, 2014, Japan on October 8, 2014 and the PAL regions on November 6, 2014.
It is currently being given a new release on the PC, as well as being given ports for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch as part of Mega Man X Legacy Collection (Rockman X Anniversary Collection in Japan) which is set for release on July 24, 2018 worldwide and July 26, 2018 in Japan.

That transition from anime to game for the intro stage was mind blowing at the time. This could've still been in the legacy collection at the very least in the museum section
Awesome, at least it remained in some form. Missed a lot of this version from playing Legacy Collection X on the Gamecube

Edit : Still, incredible cutscenes, they add so much to the atmosphere, I would've love to have this version on the legacy, they put so much passion in this, especially in the transition from scene to game!!

Just found out Blizzard Buffalo shows up in an ice block in Mega Man X4, Frost Walrus' level.

I'm suprised they couldn't port this version of X3 into Legacy collection.
They did ot on the ps2 but it must have been a losvensing issue as capcom didnt por the games themselves but hired out of house
They did not want to. They wanted to keep all three SNES games close to their original releases.

Blizzard Buffalo is just a peaceful artist. Neon Tiger is a noble protector. And Gravity Beetle just wants to avenge his brother Boomer Kuwanger.

All the Saturn compression effects are noticeable but IMO it looks better compared to the 240p uploads you normally find.

All the work put into these cutscenes and only one collection made use of em. The least they could have down was make the ps1 version an unlockable or alternate mode like the US/JPN switch.
I so clearly remember these cinematics when i played almost 18 years ago

Even these cut seens have more attitude than Maverick Hunter X's! Mega Man X truly deserves an anime show!
Maverick hunter X gave the mavericks actual personalities and fleshed out Vile more. These are just a compilation of mavericks posing

Bro shout out to Sega for creating an anime that we never got to see and most people never got to enjoy. They didn't have to go that hard, but fam they did and they did that for us. I would have watched 10 seasons of this anime!
Maybe and Capcom Do an Anime for Megaman (all sagas) as their last chance to revive the game and there explaining all success and things like what happen with Megaman and why is X so similar? blah blah, it's my dream :c

Rockman 8 and X4 are far better on Sega Saturn than the Playstation.
@@EstebanMora2 Mega Man 8 sure, it has more extra content, X4 is exactly the same in both consoles (aside from a bunch of very small graphical differences)
