They need to save stuff for a part 2 or an honourable mentions episode. That and Carson & Jack would need to be ready to fend off a horde of internet chuds for "suggesting" Bayonetta has hints of LGBT coding in it, when its supposedly goon-bait for incels and nobody else.
to give a sapphic perspective, lesbians LOVE disco elysium and yakuza. i haven’t played the latter but adore the former and there’s just something so visceral about playing a sad old man. he’s me. i kin him.
Regarding RDR as a queer person: I'm in love with the game for so many reasons, but it seems strangely safe space to me. The characters are masculine, but not as much as the characters in COD for example. In general, I see silly men who I love, because throughout the game I feel like I have another family. (And I've loved horses since childhood!) +: I feel like if I told them I was nonbinary, the reaction would be like: 🤨 what kind of crime is that? you're not bad, kid, so... whatever you want. Sometimes this type of people accept you the most, I don't know how it works (but not without sarcasm and sharp jokes in your direction). One way or another, you become their family, and from there, people who have to protect each other
I love this take!! I think I feel similarly. I think it is so campy that although some of the main male characters are gruff, they are also goofy and outsiders from society too. So maybe that's what makes them feel easy to love
As a bisexual enby I was clocked by baldurs gate, stardew valley and pokemon lmao. The childhood game that made me know I wasn’t straight was definitely the sims
My top five favorite "Bi-vibes™" games (no particular order): -Resident evil 4: bi people love Leon Kennedy -Hades: Zagreus is just such a bicon Fe3H: they did not call the MC Bi-leth for no reason. Kingdom Hearts: Sora just taking everyone into his heart no matter who they are and not chosing one over the other gives Bi/poly vibes. Fire Emblem: The sacred stones: Lyon specifically having romantic vibes with two hot opposite gender twins. (Insert: "I love her but her twin is also nice" meme
Dont let them boot you into a category...you like what your like but it doesn't make you.Ive played the first witcher ages ago I don't remember much of it I think I liked it. Tend to play older games like Vampire the Masquerade or Deus Ex (The very first one). Im not sure if you are a new age gay but NEVER let anyone put you in a box that includes your own people. I love shooting beer cans with my bow and arrows, wrestling my older brother when he talks smack, and camping and fishing.
Um, excuse me, how did Dead By Daylight not make it on anyone's list? You can't come across a queer streamer on Twitch and NOT have them mention DBD as either a game they play or a game they used to have played.
22:30 APPARENTLY the initial Idea was to make Joel gay for the Last of Us but they decided against it. (Although to be fair I don't recall the character ever saying he WASN'T lgbt in the game, nor anything explicit that he WAS........Schrodinger's closet? ) and the idea for Joel was kind of 'passed on' to Bill and I think to a certain extent, Ellie.
i got this recommended to me and genuinely was surprised when i noticed you all only had ~300 subscribers. You two are absolutely delightful! I hope your show totally skyrockets
i think a big idea that's coming up for me with every single one of these games is the idea that they're judgment free fun and adventure. More obviously you have games like bauldurs gate where you can be anyone and explore your gender and identity through the game itself - where you can be in a world where thats already normalized so no one even blinks an eye. You can go on an adventure and have fun without anyone in the universe judging your existence. But you even have games like wii sports where you get to create a character that looks like you or whoever and exist in a world where youre simply there to have fun. You get to have fun no questions asked, and I know thats especially important when it comes to sports, where gender and sexuality can become a very raw-felt thing even if its not directly in the conversation. Even in games in a slightly more realistic leaning world, like RDR or The last of us, you still find yourself in the characters and the adventure. We love the characters in these games because we express ourselves in them and we get to have an adventure no questions asked. Queer people love to have fun, party, dance, talk, emote, adventure, survive, and love with each other because we dont always get that same respect back from the world we live in. Games give us the opportunity to, even for just a moment, have fun freely without judgement.
16:25 THIS THIS RIGHT HERE I FEEL SO MUCH i love playing games like fishing simulator its the most straight game ive ever played but its weirdly so validating if that makes sense
I did an independent study in college about expressing queerness in games. I'm not going to go into all the details but two games that I would personally add to this list are Undertale and Kingdom Hearts. Undertale is objectively queer in its approach game mechanics and story structure by refusing to comply with socially accepted norms for both gameplay and narrative. Kingdom Hearts with its famously ridiculous story, presents identity as being incredibly fluid. Multiple versions of one character can exist at the same time while each having a completely separate identity and appearance. Furthermore, they validate all different natures of identities and relationships as events and conversations that happen in the worlds of Data and Dreams have effects on the "real world." Great video, and a lot of what you said has academic support.
This list was kinda… idk. Some serious gaymes were missing. Bayonetta. Pick any of the final fantasy games. Kingdom Hearts. Fighting games. Big L for sure
I was expecting Minecraft to be on this list haha! But Im so in for all the choices you ended up making! I still think Minecraft should be on the list X). As a pansexual trans person who has always LOVED this game to this day. And played the game with my queer friends, I think this game makes the perfect world to escape into and enjoy. Beginning with creating skins (of course), there is no female or male option, you can make/be whatever and who-ever you want. And you can choose so many things to do in the game. And to the outside world it's not a shame to play the game. I thinkt the survival/collecting parts of the game have many similar vibes to Stardew Valley. Its no surprise I also play that game a lot! And planning on playing it with the same friends hahahah
WHERE IS WARTHUNDER? there are so many femboys who are obsessed with military vehicle, and I'm gay myself, I have 3500 hours in it (I know, cringe) the amount of lgbt/femboy/furries ect I've seen in warthunder is insane, there entire squadrons dedicated to all of those.
It’s like… you clap your hands together and then you take your right hand and they take their right hand and clip each other’s hand. And then you do the same with the left hand. And then you take both hands and turn them backwards and hit each others backhands and then turn them and hit each other’s front side of the hands… and then you do that over and over multiple times to see how long you can go??? Lmao
How Bayonetta is not here ?
L on our part

That and Carson & Jack would need to be ready to fend off a horde of internet chuds for "suggesting" Bayonetta has hints of LGBT coding in it, when its supposedly goon-bait for incels and nobody else.
Because it's clear why we love her
Because we all know why.
@@DweebWarsBIG L for sure.

Oooo yes two great games- thanks for the Sapphic perspective legend ❤️

Very recently TH-cam has been recommending me so many small channels with the good vibes I’ve been looking for. You guys are awesome 😎
Miss TH-cam is in her indie phase rn 🥰
As a bisexual enby I was clocked by baldurs gate, stardew valley and pokemon lmao. The childhood game that made me know I wasn’t straight was definitely the sims

"Are you a boy or a girl?"
Filled so many of my trans acquaintances with dread.
The childhood game that made me realize I was gay was metal gear solid 2 playing as Raiden was something I still love to this day 😅

Is Celeste too niche? Because I get the impression it is illegal to not play it as a transfemme (I haven’t tried it yet and I am in hiding…).
Omg CELESTE!! Greattt choice love that game

I think wii sports is there because everyone loves it, and by extension queer people.

As a gay guy, the first 2 games and I am hooked lol. All too true
Where is Ultrakill?
Wow, I'm surprised Dead by Daylight didn't make the list!
is this a new thing??? lets give it a chance

SINCE WHEN WAS I LABELED I NEED TO KNOW
They forgot abt Class of ‘09 /j
I feel like for Pokémon, the show should’ve also have been mentioned, especially with how cunty the animated Pokémon contests were
you forgot mlp magic princess besties
Bayonetta and Dead by Daylight not making the list is homophobic
Just wait til you get to Metal Gear. Some of the gayest shit I've ever seen and like 90% of the characters are supposedly heterosexual
skyrim shuld be here ....
