It's a Dutch documentary, gitarist is Dutch for guitarist.

+Greg C Very curious comment. It's the best album they've ever touched.

Have you heard much on daptone records?

Nearly everything. The first Sharon Jones album would probably be their next best in my opinion.

If you've heard "nearly everything" of Daptone Records you then understand that no, Amy Winehouse's record was not even close to the best thing they've done. You're asking why they didn't want to release her record?
Because they didn't want to release a mainstream record that sounds like it's meant to be played on the radio. These guys were doing authentic soul music at the time. They just didn't buy this idea of doing mainstream music just to sell. They didn't care. Their records are authentic soul records, they understand the difference between soul and mainstream that sounds soulish.
Don't get me wrong, I like Amy Winehouse, but I just totally get their opinion on this.

Not a lot of love lost between these guys and Amy. Shame for them.

Why do you say that? No "shame for them". This is a six minute video. There's a lot of story that's not depicted here. Magic happened between them and Amy. That is undeniable. Sometimes the music 'business' can leave a ad taste in your mouth or worst, you can wake up dead. This vid seems to have caught them feeling some type of way between all of that. Much respect, Amy

It's a shame for them because they lack grace talking about someone who was, A. Incredibly talented and, B. isn't here to defend herself.

I wouldn't go that far, also one has to appreciate when someone's honest, especially when it's hard to do since you're talking about someone who passed..
It would be hypocritical to change your opinion because of someone's tragic passing..
Personally I was never a big fan of Amy Winehouse, I really like a couple songs but I never thought she was the new Aretha Franklin or Abbey Lincoln.. she's still great though..

they're speaking from a studios perspective. they're also honest which is kinda of like winning the lottery. someone who is honest... i'd drop anything to be an honest mans friend... the more honest the better.
