I just love the comedy of Elaine May esp with Mike Nichols. I wish more of their skits were on you tube. May is such an original gifted actress, comedian, writer, director. An original and irreplaceable. Should have gotten recognition /awards from AFI too. Now that Nichols has passed on we will never know exactly what he would have said about her in appreciation.
Also want to comment on Nora Ephron who was a funny, smart, gifted writer and director. Seeing May and Ephron on afi award show for nichols showed how funny and original those two are and were respectively. Great seeing on the panel together.
OMG! Meryl Streep is such an awful bore. And a phony par excellence. The amazingly talented one here (and modest to boot) is Elaine May. But the commentators here are too dense to catch that.

Yes Elaine May is great and funny and an original. Ephron is also a great talent. See those two in afi for nichols. They brought the house down
