In my town (UK) the council tore down our skate park about 8 years ago and never replaced it. One summer me and my friends got drunk and went for a late walk and found a recently abandoned factory (it was growing weed and police raided it) the shutter doors were unlocked so we went in and realised is was butter smooth floor and so much wood and scrap metal left over. We built such a dope park in that place, there's still videos of it on TH-cam. It was a decent secret for the town skaters for a few months until word got out and people started travelling to it. Unfortunately once word got out the police locked it down. Now its being used as a factory again, but I still walk past it from time to time and remember how great that place was. RIP unit 2012

The city lets us build on it even though we have a skatepark 10 minutes away from the diy. It’s pretty sweet because we get to do whatever we want and no one bothers us
I live in Bucharest and mentioning "dead spots" really hit me in the feels. Our skating community has really taken off lately, but that also means the cool spots are getting more attention now and they're turning into heat spots that you can't skate anymore. Unless you ride with the older skaters, you really can't find good spots as a begginer anymore, save the ones flooded by posers and alt kids (the exaggerated type, not the chill ones) that really just ruin the vibe, and also make a mess out of the spot with garbage and broken bottles
9:27 You can still walk (but more like run, climb, jump, and parkour) up and down the stairs by walking through the gate or climbing over it, and you can still turn it into a skate spot again by using #7 DIY to build a higher up ground that’s about level with the gate or just demolish the gate.
I was raised a Military Brat and back in the late 90s and early 2000s my dad got stationed in Ft Polk and skateboarding got very popular and the military base built a skateboard park but sadly we got into a lot of fights over it with the roller bladers.. Good times now im 34 and just watch everyone else board lol.
Used to live by an elementary school that had some great spots that included a ledge that looked like it belonged in a skate park and was never kicked out.
I was lucky back in the day. We had a culdisack at the end of our street where I could leave my mini ramp, rail, and funbox out all year round. It just doesn't get better than that.

Where I live in Abu Dhabi I have this one skate spot me and my friends always go there but they stopped progress on the road that goes the it. The only way to skate there is to go through the rockiest road you've ever seen and btw all of the villa owners park their car there so in case you fall your skateboard will always hit their car but if I am lucky for me it's a solid 6

Garages don’t exist in Tallahassee and I live in an apartment anyways and everything is paved awfully in street skating. I need a car to get to the skatepark. All parking lots in walking distance are always super full.
