@@PSPortalShitpostingAntiSwitch LOL, the clown show has returned. Dude, I don't participate in your console war BS, I just play any game on any system. Also yes, it did fail financially, I love my PS Vita I never said I don't like the system but it's also true that it failed at least from a financial perspective.
@@PSPortalShitpostingAntiSwitch Who cares about CoD? Only casuals care about it and these people don't even care about portable gaming, they have a home console like a Xbox Series or a PS5 and that's it.
Amazing list, you've got a lot of juicy games here! I sadly never owned a PS1, so I missed out big time, but I did play the original Crash Bandicoot and Rugrats, lol.
You can still play most of these games I listed on some modern systems like MediEvil got a PS4 Remaster, Legend of Dragoon is on PS + or you can buy it for 10$. There are also many of them on the PS Vita store because the Vita had many PS1 and PSP games online available to be purchased and if you want you can also emulate them relatively easy nowdays.
@@uppernimbus Doesn't matter where you play them, just enjoy your time with them. I do believe you will enjoy them, these are all incredible games, there are probably hundreds of more amazing PS1 games, same for other systems. I wish we could live longer so that we could experience all of these bangers, sadly we have a limited life span, real life and our back catalog is larger than the Mount Everest lol.
Back in the days I was Final Fantasy 8 man and I also had Dino Crisis. My #1 from back in the days was Metal Gear Solid and now it's Silent Hill. You got new subscriber and thumb up in this video.
My Top 10 PS1 Games of all Time are 1. MGS1 2. RE2 3. CastleVania SOTN 4. FF7 5. FF9 6. Spyro 2 Ripto’s Rage 7. Crash Bandicoot Warped 8. Silent Hill 9. RE3 Nemesis 10. Dino Crisis 1 and 2
Very nice toplist! I never played Silent Hill what is kinda crazy I know... Not a MGS fan but respect the choice! ❤️ I also like Castelvania and RE3 very nice games you picked.
good list of games! mine would be pretty different in some ways but I think about half of the ones you mentioned would make my top 15 as well 😊 (and the ones that wouldn’t make my top 15 would at least be in my top 30 or 50)
Well that's always the fun with these top lists, seeing what people would pick as they favorite titles. I appreciate the PS1 libary, is probably one of my favorite with the PS2 libary and the Nintendo Switch. I would also like to start collecting more for the PS1 and PS2 maybe one day...
Yeah, never liked Kojima's work (I know very controversial opinion). But I also think that's fine, most people will have a slightly different top list than mine. You can also write me your favorite PS1 games, always nice to see other people's opinions when it comes to best games on certain systems.
@@user-id1gc8uu6l Never played FF 8 or 9, I know shame on me! I will change that, probably this year if I find time. Even besides that I wouldn't like to put so much FF in my toplist, I just put 7 and tactics in this one because tactics is more of a spin off with a completely different gameplay than any other ff entry.
Cool to see Grandia. I am NOT an RPG player; Grandia 2 is one of VERY few RPGs I've finished (besides heavy hitters like CT, FFVI, Pokemon etc). It actually might be the ONLY one I've finished on an actual console (rather than emulation). Currently transferring roms to an emulation handheld. Grandia is on the list. Is the battle system anything like the second (I liked it)?
Grandia is indeed amazing! Yes, the battle system in Grandia 1 is almost the same as in 2 just 2 had some small small changes. If you played 2 you will be very familiar with 1 and both game have a similar game length of around 30-40 hours give or take. I highly recommend playing the first one aswell. I think you might be a JRPG fan in the future maybe you just played bad RPG's, try good ones like Astral Chain, Tales of, Octopath, Triangle Strategy, Atelier, Scarlet Nexus, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, Witcher 3, Dragon Quest VIII or XI, Fable, Dragon Age, Lunar, Xenoblade, Xenogears, Xenosaga, Fire Emblem Three, Summon Night... You will probably find at least one of these enjoyable as you did with Grandia. These are some of my favorites and definitely worth checking out.
@@Official_RetroMania Cool thanks for the reply. Have Octopath on physical just haven't gotten around to it yet. There's a sequel now as well iirc (?). Haha not much of an RPG player; thanks to my console history (famiclone into Sega Saturn with a busted battery I never knew how to fix + no memory cart) I learned to like fast paced games in the arcade vein and have now moved to the new difficult rogue likes or tough platformers (maybe more RPGs when I get old and the reflexes dull). Every once in a while though a relaxing RPG grips me. They're very few and far between (so time consuming; if the story or gameplay turns out crap then it feels like a bigger blow with time investment down the drain. Ironic as shmups take more time to practice in reality). Grandia 2 story and overworld play wasn't the best iirc but that battle system... You've made me excited for 1. That WILL be my next RPG. 👍 As far as RPGs go my backlog would include Mother/Earthbound on the NES/SNES probably next when I get time. Supposedly a great game on the SNES. Then Mother 3 or something else GBA (Golden Sun?). Then maybe the SNES version of Live a live or Suikoden 1/2. So many games not enough time. Pixelgraphics ftw and portability is the deciding factor for me nowadays with a backlog miles long (currently playing Celeste on the 351... It's awesome. Highly recommended in the off chance you haven't played it? A mod pretty recently released for the PC as well). Would you happen to have played the Lunar series for PS1 (and if so are those games any good)? Also what would you recommend in terms of 3D graphic style RPGs on the PS1 (depending on what you've played ofcourse)? I have not played any of them. Your preferred genres?
Don't want to hate, but this should really be a "favorite" rather than "best PS1 games". You really can't put Tarzan and Forbidden Memories but no Metal Gear.
These are one of the best PS1 games. There are more than 15 games one the PS1 people consider the best. It's a top list what is is always both subjective and objective, each top list will be different. If you disagree that's fine. I never liked Metal Gear Solid and I kinda get sick of people mentioning it lol.
