There is so much music, much of it written as student training... And a lot of students treat it as such (I once did as well.. it was only after becoming an adult I realized the error in that thinking). I try to play (EVERYTHING with as much beauty as I possibly can now) and if I can't, I either (in general) put it aside, or try to figure out why I can't and work on it until I can. I wish I did that, when I was a student.
Thank you so much for introducing the mechanics of vibrato to a wider audience! I'm sure there are many like me who, lacking a conservatory education, have never really practised vibrato this way. My teachers since childhood have always just tolerated my arm vibrato, even though it's lacking in control and consistency. Fast passages are naturally out of the question. I'll try out these exercises and hope they help.
I love you’re playing, and you’re so kind, awesome, I’m dying to meet you, mr súper soloist leong, I admire you a lot! Keep it going like that!! Big hugs
Thanks for sharing! Would you also elaborate on how to take care of the pinky? In particular, how could one position it so the vibrato motion could be heard? I kept everything the same and it works for the other three fingers but pinky didn't work at all... thanks a lot.
Both of them, but wrist vibrato could be more relaxed than arm vibrato, I think based in other videos of great soloists, but yes each vibrato depends on what you are playing, for full sound and projection might be better arm vibrato, greetings!
I use arm vibrato and its sound very nice and buttery. Sometimes I will use wrist vibrato for my index finger cause its more stiff than other fingers. Basically whatever work for you
When I do vibrato, it's too fast and the violin body shakes. I use my wrist instead of my entire arm. I don't know if I'm pressing too hard on the fingerboard? Even the simplest song sounds elegant with the proper vibrato.
Kerson, a greatly admire your work. But I have a question: Why are you splitting the original bowings? It sounds better, but it will also be easier? And that is not so good since it is an etude?
Thank you for your video ! Do you recommend to practice vibrato with more than one fingers together ( like putting first and second and third fingers together when playing D note on A string in first position)?
That Khachaturian excerpt at the end was crazy good.
It was enchanting! It was hypnotizing!
Hi thank you for what you do. I’m new at this, I’m 53 years old. Just playing 2 1/2 years. I look at all your videos. Thank you again.
Good Job! 👏👏👏
Keep going! 💯
DON'T GIVE UP! 😎
I have played the Rode caprices. I didn't know that they are so beautiful:-)
Me too, the thing is that I didn’t practice how it must be, that might be the same situation with you

Can you do something on your bow hold? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yes, I could work that into one of the upcoming episodes.
That was really helpful. Thank You.
Gracias por tu conocimiento :3
Hey Kerson! These videos are very useful ! Thank you . I hope you will make similar videos with Paganini caprices soon🤞

Vibrato is quite an art to manage !
I love you’re playing, and you’re so kind, awesome, I’m dying to meet you, mr súper soloist leong, I admire you a lot! Keep it going like that!! Big hugs
Thank you! I'll try :)
HOW GOOD YOU PLAY THE VIOLIN...
This was very helpful! I'll try to develop vibrato with these exercises (specially for Brahm's sonatas, they need a good vibrato)👍
Great advice. Thanks Kerson!

Very useful tips as always
Can you make a video playing all of the etudes? Your sound is perfect, I see all your videos, they are very helpful. Thank you
Cheers! Something I might consider if I have the time.
Yes.
Thanks for your video.
Wrist vibrato is most commonly used vibrato?? I don’t know which is more popular!

@@nephiburgos7929 Hi, got it ! thanks for your explanation!
@@maryamahmadij.6752 you’re welcome! Where are you from?

Can you make a video about how to mention a smooth and steady bow without any shaking ...etc ??
When I do vibrato, it's too fast and the violin body shakes.
I use my wrist instead of my entire arm.
I don't know if I'm pressing too hard on the fingerboard?
Even the simplest song sounds elegant with the proper vibrato.
The violin shaking during vibrato would be a sign of excess tension in the hand and fingers.

Yes, doing that slowly could be helpful.
