Hi Maestro , it would be awesome to see a full uncut practice session from you. ( Just the camera on without you having to losing focus on having to talk during the recording). This videos are real gems, thank you so much.

"Not, how much time you practice in a day, but how many times you practice in a day" yeah, agree...

      Yes!
So much of how Kerson does his things, from talking to particularly his playing, reminds me of martial arts discipline and philosophy-.

Very beneficial tip for music students. Leopold Auer teacher of J.Heifetz told never practice 30 or 40 min.at a time, stop practicing at least 15 min.
Heifetz suggested 4 hours a day pracice and he said more than 4 hour is too much.

10 minutes practice - 10 minute break, 15 minutes practice - 5 minutes break, 20 minutes practice --- repeat 40 times for the day

Great advice. It would be awesome to watch one hour of your own practice session! It's something rare to see a true artist practice its craft!

    I really like this model!!
It even allows time for journaling mental practice, and thinking about what I just did. And what I plan next etc. Brilliant
(I love 2set, but I agree practicing 40hrs/day is meaningless) without a plan:)

Could you also share what you would practice during the sessions? Such as scales, etudes, concertos etc. for an intermediate to advanced violinist.

This would seem to be a most excellent protocol for studying and learning anything (like math), not just for music.

It is amazing that at early stages of your future long career as a soloist you can share so many of mature advice. Your ability to focus is inspiring.
Have you considered reading books for little children? This would be Epic! Your media audience would increase dramatically. :)

To me a break it is not make mental practice but be lazy ( sleep, read , watch Netflix or listen recordings of the piece I'm playing lmao !) 🤣🤣🤣

Again, very insightful and helpful. I’m glad you mentioned experimentation in practicing. I remember Ruggiero Ricci and Nathan Milstein also found experimentation to be essential. Thank you Maestro Kerson! 🙏🏻🎻

    So you are mentally practicing...
Which is just as important. Sounds very meditative I'm surprised you used the word fiddle though. Nice information I'm delving back into violin technique and pedagogy and I'm very excited

Practice and practice and practice until you reach number 1 in the field.
Once your number 1 you can relax is that what you thinking hell no ..you practice even harder so nobody can catch up to you so keep practicing 😂

See, this has been very complementary to what I have been applying to my personal practice since I heard about the ''50 mins practice + 10 mins break'' system by the GREAT Itzhak Perlman!

Great content as usual. I'd like to have your thought about the mix of pure technique (i. e. scales, etc), applied technique (as studies, capriccios, etc) and repertoire in an average daily session(s)…

I one up this question too, especially cause I tend to associate kerson with his love of etudes because of his other videos…
