You are the most interesting person in photography. No fluff, No Offense language, you are not even demeaning your competition you get straight to it, you literally answer questions, you take stuff from your premium courses, you make what ever you talk about interesting and most I importantly, you care. Often I. When it comes to content that photographers care about, you are killing your competition. There is a term often used a “Mans Man” which is used to describe a real man, well you Sir are a “Photographer’s Photographer. Don’t change a thing, in my humble opinion you should be well over a million subscribers because the content is that good and other Photography channels should take your lead. You are in a class for me of two other channels, Sean Tucker and First Man Photography, people leave their channels and yours inspired and realizing why they picked up a camera in the first place. You are not scared to teach what you know and how you know it. You have confidence beyond the camera and you are not boggled down with the latest camera tech nonsense, cameras and lenses, which has its place, but says nothing really about photography. You are a gentleman, a scholar and quite frankly a genius. Keep up the excellent work and the outstanding content, you deserve every subscriber that you have and more. I wish there were more like you, but then you wouldn’t stand out like you do, a photography and a mentor.

I've listened to other instructors talk about the rule of thirds and the intersecting points a hundred times, but this is the first time I've heard then called the golden points and have the large and small subjects explained. No matter how much I've studied photography, you're telling me something new (and important) all the time, Andrew! I'm being 100% honest when I say that you are BY FAR the best instructor I've ever seen! Great tips Beyond Photography! Here are my take in how I teach people to get professional looking videos and photos every time. 1. Rule number one: Always place the eyes of the subject between the points 3 or 4. No matter how close or far the subject is. Human always look at point 3 first. 2. Everything you are filming or taking photos have eyes on them. If you are filming or taking photos of a object or nature add imaginary eyes on them. 3. Always provide BIG empty space to the direction the subject is traveling to or the direction of the eyes is looking at. If the subject is traveling from left to right (give empty space to the right, by placing the eyes on the 1 or 3 golden point or inside the Rules Of Thirds 1 and 3. Same goes traveling Right to left, so the eyes should be on the 2 or 4 golden point or Rules of third 2 or 4. Remember that everything in live has eyes one them. so use your imagination to where to place the eyes on objects and nature that does not have eyes on them Example: If you filming or taking picture of a beer, where on the beer bottle you would glue an imaginary eyes on it so you can place the beer on the right place of the Golden Rule or Rule of Thirds. 4. Never take photos as picture that will go into a picture frame. Photography days are over and belong to the past. Always take pictures if you are filming. Think like this... what if this picture will show up on TV or a any video? so... always take picture is a format like 16x9 or 9x16, never 4:3 format cause you are limiting your self to the entire world of possibilities and we are just entering the video revolution. And if you do video editing, when you take picture or film, think like an editor and when you are editing think like an videographer. Everything in live have eyes on them and they are always in motion.

I enjoyed the lesson and it makes sense although, I learned if differently but, yours is more logical. I learned that people who are accustomed to reading left to right hone in on the top left point and their eye follows around the image clockwise over the other three points...

The wedding rings are on the wrong golden point. Wedding means going together to a bright, open future. This means theoretically putting the focus on point one. leading the eye away to the empty right space. Of course You could adjust the light as well in that case to emphasize the story. I can imagine Russian composition school would mock the photo for having too much emptiness in it, not telling a story in favour of a decorative photo. Great educational video anyway, short and clear with its message, design and examples!

When you explaining the "4 points" in golden point, then I better understood how important rule of third really is and how to use golden point correctly and to make a picture completely complete .. I have often wondered why my picture looks weird when I have taken pictures of my car at a distance in golden point number 3 or 4 where as you say, things like airplane, sun, moon etc that should be on Gp 3 & 4..😄 Now its all make sense..😀 lol Thank you so much for clearing this up with a good logical explanation ..🤓👌 I just smashed that like button .. lol👊😄👍👍👍

You are the most interesting person in photography. No fluff, No Offense language, you are not even demeaning your competition you get straight to it, you literally answer questions, you take stuff from your premium courses, you make what ever you talk about interesting and most I importantly, you care. Often I. When it comes to content that photographers care about, you are killing your competition. There is a term often used a “Mans Man” which is used to describe a real man, well you Sir are a “Photographer’s Photographer.
Don’t change a thing, in my humble opinion you should be well over a million subscribers because the content is that good and other Photography channels should take your lead. You are in a class for me of two other channels, Sean Tucker and First Man Photography, people leave their channels and yours inspired and realizing why they picked up a camera in the first place. You are not scared to teach what you know and how you know it.
You have confidence beyond the camera and you are not boggled down with the latest camera tech nonsense, cameras and lenses, which has its place, but says nothing really about photography. You are a gentleman, a scholar and quite frankly a genius. Keep up the excellent work and the outstanding content, you deserve every subscriber that you have and more. I wish there were more like you, but then you wouldn’t stand out like you do, a photography and a mentor.

I've listened to other instructors talk about the rule of thirds and the intersecting points a hundred times, but this is the first time I've heard then called the golden points and have the large and small subjects explained. No matter how much I've studied photography, you're telling me something new (and important) all the time, Andrew! I'm being 100% honest when I say that you are BY FAR the best instructor I've ever seen! Great tips
Beyond Photography!
Here are my take in how I teach people to get professional looking videos and photos every time.
1. Rule number one: Always place the eyes of the subject between the points 3 or 4. No matter how close or far the subject is. Human always look at point 3 first.
2. Everything you are filming or taking photos have eyes on them. If you are filming or taking photos of a object or nature add imaginary eyes on them.
3. Always provide BIG empty space to the direction the subject is traveling to or the direction of the eyes is looking at. If the subject is traveling from left to right (give empty space to the right, by placing the eyes on the 1 or 3 golden point or inside the Rules Of Thirds 1 and 3. Same goes traveling Right to left, so the eyes should be on the 2 or 4 golden point or Rules of third 2 or 4. Remember that everything in live has eyes one them. so use your imagination to where to place the eyes on objects and nature that does not have eyes on them Example: If you filming or taking picture of a beer, where on the beer bottle you would glue an imaginary eyes on it so you can place the beer on the right place of the Golden Rule or Rule of Thirds.
4. Never take photos as picture that will go into a picture frame. Photography days are over and belong to the past. Always take pictures if you are filming. Think like this... what if this picture will show up on TV or a any video? so... always take picture is a format like 16x9 or 9x16, never 4:3 format cause you are limiting your self to the entire world of possibilities and we are just entering the video revolution. And if you do video editing, when you take picture or film, think like an editor and when you are editing think like an videographer. Everything in live have eyes on them and they are always in motion.

The wedding rings are on the wrong golden point. Wedding means going together to a bright, open future. This means theoretically putting the focus on point one. leading the eye away to the empty right space. Of course You could adjust the light as well in that case to emphasize the story. I can imagine Russian composition school would mock the photo for having too much emptiness in it, not telling a story in favour of a decorative photo. Great educational video anyway, short and clear with its message, design and examples!

I just learned new things about the rule of the third I thought I knew before .. When you explaining the "4 points" in golden point, then I better understood how important rule of third really is and how to use golden point correctly and to make a picture completely complete .. I have often wondered why my picture looks weird when I have taken pictures of my car at a distance in golden point number 3 or 4 where as you say, things like airplane, sun, moon etc that should be on Gp 3 & 4..😄 Now its all make sense..😀 lol

How they all copy each other, wrongs I use the lines in the display to assist me to pick the position of subject. BUT REMEMBER THE ASPECT RATIO OF THE PRINT
