That's a great one.
i love fruit too

@@msdegrasse Which Garcinia though?
I thought the screwdriver thing was just a visual gag until he turned around and it was fully in there
yup. it's an old sideshow stunt called the blockhead act
I think it’s some kind of a magic prop like the sword but requires training
@@celestialdiscord2716 not magic, just a real screwdriver and lots of training.
@@WeirdExplorer Really?That’s impressive!

I love the subtle downvote on the Factsopedia ackee video. Our boy throwing shade 💀

Putting the most sour fruit right before the miracle berry makes one wonder how they would taste together.
Hm maybe um suger
They actually violently annihilate each other whenever they come into contact.
You need to wait at least 6 hours in between the two foods lest you meet a very painful, fruity demise.
@@SmokeyChipOatley Jokes aside, I'm fucking curious.
@@SmokeyChipOatley doom eternal be like
the sour fruit would overpower it sooo much
I love how he always downplays the taste of intense fruits, like “it’s a wee bit sour” or “that is not good” to the worst fruit he ever tasted

Holy shit that was the best ad introduction of all time. Legit laughed my ass off
That story of your fingertoy weirded me out tho

@@WeirdExplorer Call them the fuck out, Jared, get that TH-camr drama going. Fuck plagiarists.
@@WeirdExplorer could you report the stolen footage?
@@jdlenl Likely fair use.
What a shame that someone just took part of your video just to get views and spread misinformation.
Time for a copyright claim?
Misinformation is at 16:55 also. ''The coco de mer is the world's heaviest fruit.'' Pumpkins can be over 1 ton (2600 pounds).
@@WeAreAllOneNature no, the misinformation is related to the fruit at the beginning
@@arkesh110 Yes, I know. But in this video, the presenter also says something that is incorrect (misinformation). A coco de mer is not the world's heaviest fruit. But I don't care, I was just saying.
@@WeAreAllOneNature I feel like counting outliers is a little unfair
8:35 the Covid test swab probably isn’t an issue for you 😂 I really enjoy your videos I always end up binge watching them.

I love Ackee! Number 1💛💚🖤🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🖤💚💛
Love how you can use a screwdriver and talking fruit so relaxed.
Maybe a top ten most unexpected fruits (Radish pod fruit, etc.) or ones you didn’t think you would like but ended up loving?
Top ten banana varieties would definitely be a fun video!!
I actually used to play with mesquite (if that's how you spell it) and shake them like maracas. I had no idea they were from a mesquite tree or that they were actually used for something. Super common in the southern US.
MY BOY GOT HIMSELF A SPONSOR
I'm so proud! :)
Kinda doubt the Coco de Mer could be described as "pleasing to the eye and good for eating." More like,
"How the frick am I supposed to even open that thing, serpent? Seriously."
I just wanted to say thank you. You remind me of a university friend who was equally as quirky and serious. I've been watching you for years and also enjoyed the similarity. She passed away a few days ago - the word needs people her - people like you 🍁 So, again, thank you for sharing.
Yep Ackee is safe if you make it open naturally and take it from the pad , seed out and clean little stuff out. just need to know how to prepare it properly & its so delicious.
that fruit from the philipines is grown around southeasr asia i think cause here in indonesia u can find it. never tried it, i have open one but the ppl there told me not to eat it.
Yeah you’ve certainly found some weird ones over the years. Fingers crossed for you finding a kesusu one day.
Here's hoping!
I'm so happy to see your channel flourishing. During a very difficult a few years ago I watched your videos for hours on end every day until it became a big part of my day. I did that for months. For some reason, it made me feel like I was away from everything I hated. The indie and unpolished style of the videos and your genuine interest in what you did gave me solace. Continue being you
Yeah I know what you mean, I think it's maybe because fruit is such a relaxing thing to hear about maybe, sort of puts you in a good mood. Hope you're doing better now
Have you tried Salmbär? It's a type of blue raspberry which grows on one of the Swedish islands (Gotland). It's traditionally eaten as jam on saffron pancakes. I've tried it as a flavour in homemade ice cream - pretty tasty!
In the northern parts you can also find Arctic bramble (swedes calles them åkerbär) - I think they can also be found in Canada?
And there's also crowberries
I had ackee for breakfast here in Jamaica from a tree next to the house.
that asam paya looks like a cluster of little salak fruits together :D Have you tried salak yet?
I think salak was his 3rd or 4th episode
@@griffinc3263 thanks! I haven't seen a lot of his older episodes yet I only found this channel recently :)
yep! I really would like to do this one over again sometime. But here' the video: th-cam.com/video/nx4C0g0D6TY/w-d-xo.html
@@WeirdExplorer thank you!
Do I sense...
*P A N D A N U S ?*
I put a clip in the beginning because without at least some mention of pandanus, it would not be a top 10 video.
@@WeirdExplorer Its impressive how much attention pandanus gets from those clickbait fruit channels lol. Loved that you still managed to sneak it in :)
Dude, you sticking a screw driver through your sinuses straight fucked me up. I would LOVE one little trick per review! Maybe, talk about how you went from English major to sideshow performer! I've been watching you for years, BTW.
I thought he faking it lol. I'm very shocked 😳
the asam papaya reminds me of pangolins! :O
I've had Ackee and Saltfish. It's simply a must try dish. It goes very well with the fish. The dish gets more satisfying with each bite. I've tried it for the first time at a Caribbean restaurant in town, but do to the risky nature of the fruit, you can only buy it canned in Canada.
I’ve been watching your videos for years now and I’ve gotta say you’ve really been putting out some amazing content. Keep up the good work! I appreciate your content! (Ps. You should do some videos about traveling tips)
I find your lists very entertaining! And thanks for sharing your cautionary tale regarding Lit Majors. We owe it to the children to leave a warning!!!
8:25 One of the best ads I've seen so far :' )
I just subscribed to the channel (about a week ago) and binged about 300 videos (Sleep is for the weak) and I liked the '10 fruit' videos the most and now you release another one?!
Thank you! I've been blessed.
Monstera deliciosa is really really good, we had them in our backyard, and they whole family fought for the fruit😄 Sadly, it also gives me the same mouth reaction as kiwifruit and pineapple. My sisters always used that fact to try to get my share as well!
I find this very cathartic. I’m allergic to a few fruits (mango, kiwi, and pineapple) and always a little hesitant about strange fruits.
Also had a psychology teacher give the class miracle berries. I eat like 4oz of sour cream , and my friend threw up after eating an airheads.
If you're into giant stuff, you should check out Anonidium mannii, the junglesop. It's not _the_ largest fruit, but it's damn huge and you can eat all the pulp (unlike jackfruit where it's just the pods or the inedible coco de mer fruit). Also its an annonaceae and everyone loves annonaceae!
I would love to try the junglesop! Its a hard one to find though...
Stoked to find this channel! Weird fruit (i.e. fruit that is new to me) are and always have been one of my very favourite things. So cool to find a whole channel dedicated to them!
Welcome aboard 🚢
Great compilation! Also, that ad took me by surprise haha super good! I might actually pick up that free trial, I've been craving a bit of learning.
Arizonian here! I’m really happy that you mentioned mesquite as mesquite is something natural here and something I love eating! I don’t know the sub species but back in my highschool days I’d pick the beans up from the ground of a neighbors lawn after they drop and ate the skin. They’re really good, too! I don’t advice this however as ants and other insects love these beans too and will eat the skin from the inside out. Didn’t know you could make coffee out of them, though! I should try that next chance I get!
I just discovered your channel as a video popped up in my recommendations list and I love your content. I used to go to the supermarket and try some obscure fruits (obscure to me I mean) such as guava, starfruit, dragonfruit etc. But this has really opened my eyes to the vast diversity of fruit that really exists. Keep on bringing these amazing fruits to light
Welcome aboard!
I always look forward to your videos, and you never disappoint! These are like a greatest hits of your reviews, and when I'm introducing your channel to new people, I often will start with one of these. As always, thanks very much!
Wow, thank you!
I love your videos so much please never stop making videos. Really fun to watch especially on rainy days like rn
I'm so glad I've come across this! Subscribed!!

@@thanatos_echo. And nutritious! Loaded with fiber and vitamin C! I'm in Mexico so it's so easy to get. 😊
I loved your series on the coco de mer! I only knew about mesquite beans because of fallout new vegas
Fejioas and tamarillos are my favourite here in New Zealand. Also the random quinces that grow outside my friend's old work and the random vintage concord grapes & fragrant redcurrants I discovered in my garden!
15:18 Man that finger ball is the most cursed thing i have ever seen, I hope they banned that thing lmao
"if you see it, you will be cursed"
sounds like the "if you enter your parents room at night you will stop growing"
Jared, thanks for the great courses ad. I sincerely want to check it out, especially botany as you mentioned.
I've been enjoying it! It feels like I'm back in college! I'd recommend printing the course guide they give you or taking notes as you watch.
You really should make full- length documentary about coco de mer and sell it to Netflix or something. I saw your series and it was really good.
It's great to see you get sponsorships now! I don't know what they pay you, but based on your unique ads, it's definitely not enough!
Dear Jared, I have been a fan for years. You are awesome in so many ways. Your face when you try a sour fruit is very entertaining. The chilli face is even better. You and your friend bravely trying chillis with the body language of fearful expectation is unforgettable. The screwdriver trick was terrifying. Keep going dude.
Wow, thank you!
I really enjoy watching your channel 💕. I never knew about mesquite beans.
thank you!
Your ads are so good 😂
Wonderful!
Far and away the best thing to come out of 2021 thus far. (Obviously, it's a low bar - but I can't see you facing any competition for some time.)
Also, when I get a regular income again, one of the first things I'm going to do is become a Patreon - and buy a t-shirt if they're back in stock. Your channel is simply magnificent.
thanks so much!
You should taste test a lot of allium plants in a video. I think that'd be really interesting
It would be interesting. They are not popular because people don't know about them.
Your videos are always entertaining! Thank you for doing what you do, Weird Explorer.
IT is amazing the shapes and forms that fruits come in, Tuna is curious to try all your Human foods at some point.
The AKHEE Fruit reminds to of Squid! Delicious Squid!
Tuna wishes you the best!
You are TRULY awesome!!! Thank you for your work. I live just north of Washington, D.C. so we have shops that carry many fruits you feature! 😋🤩🥰
I enjoy all of the information on the fruits from all over the world. I would love to see more of your contortionist talents.
Thanks! There's a bit of contortion here in the mesquite video: th-cam.com/video/NEi81D7BfN4/w-d-xo.html
There will be more here and there in the future. :)
Awesome video, as always :)
It's true. I saw the coco de mer mate. I am dead now.
Awesome video, you are so underrated, keep doing your great work ✨❤️ Greetings from Spain!
Thank you so much!!
Your a fantastic youtuber, I love your humor and your videos are EXTREMELY INTERESTING!!!!!
Thank you for this video ! 😊🌼
I love your content so much.
Another sponsored video? That's great! Also, your ad spots are are hands down my favourite lol
those people who so graciously gave you the calabash were so awesome. put a smile on my face!
Achee is delisious, but as breakfast food. I ate it nearly every morning when I visited Jamaica. It was mixed with egg and fish, the three flavors worked well together.
Love your content. There is nothing quite like it on this platform.
Great content brother
Thanks for the visit
Trying asam paya with miracle fruit should be absolutely amazing! I've tried it with pitangatuba, it was like mango, but somehow much sweeter and much better. so if all the sourness is translated to sweetness, asam paya should be amazing to try!
Amazing video 👍
Thank you 👍
That ad startled me!
that was amazing footage! God bless
1:31 "Never actually tried the thing"
the damn article: I have enjoyed Ackee Fruit more than once...
I would love a banana vid of best ones. I'm thinking about getting a banana box
I wonder how a soap berry/glue berry smoothie would taste...:) Video idea? Weirdest fruit smoothies? 🤔 Deadman's Fingers on the Titty fruit smoothie? XD
oh no... the flavor would be bad.. but worse would be the havoc that would make in my intestines for the following week. I think I'll pass
I loved your Cambodia series.
The screwdriver! OMG! Full body cringe inducing. Amazing, but not my thing.
I really enjoy your videos.
Here in argentina we use a lot of Algarrobo (the fruit it's called "algarroba"), it's in the same genus as the Mesquite (Prosopis); there are several species of algarrobo here, all of them have a great wood and grow in extremely varied condition (from the highly fertile areas of the Pampas to the rather desert-like conditions of Cuyo), but a few of them produce the "Algarroba" (mainly Prosopis Alba). It's has been in use since before the europeans came to the continent, and in modern times it declined both in abundance and popularity. But now it is quite popular again as a healthy "sweetener"; algarroba flower it's used in all sorts of sweet baked confections (alfajores, cakes, cookies). It's actually quite healthy and nice in flavour.
Other species of Prosopis are used too to prepare "chicha", an alcoholic beverage that's gaining some popularity again, but it's mostly sold as a "souvenir" in towns of the northern part of the country.
Really interesting video!
You should review a salmonberry!
