    when you have a wachbataillon(guard battaillon) it performs ceremonial duties and guard service( like the queen's household troops). they do this every day and can do it in their sleep. it's their routine. i was in a parade in the u.s.m.c. for 2 visiting generals and we practiced one day ahead. it was ok, except for one guy passing out from heat exhaustion.

      Gelegentlich findet sich Vergleichbares auch bei der Vereidigung deutscher Fallschirmjaeger.
      Kuerzlich hat das Musikkorps der Bundeswehr (oder das Stabsmusikkorps?) sogar den angedeuteten Exerzierschritt vorgefuehrt.
      Auch der langsame Gleichschritt der heutigen Ehrenposten ist letztlich eine Version des langsamen Exerzierschritts.
      Uebertriebenes Hochschwingen und Aufknallen waren bis 1935 aus gesundheitlichen Gruenden verboten.

    @Joke332 The problem is that parades, and especially goose-step-parades, takes months of hard training if they are to look good. We can not afford that time. Don't get me wrong, I love parades. But I'd rather skip them than have a bad one. What the Wachbataillon does, looks pretty good though, even though it's not in goose step.

      @Marco-bf4uu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Chiron84 I'm an sergeant of the Wachbataillon, I know. But we don't have any dragoon or any kind of cavalry units. But
      Panzergrenadiere were made out of regular Grenadiers at first, which belonged to the line infantry but since they then were motorised and started using light infantry techniques, charging to the front line then deploying and then asap retreating to another area and then attacking again etc. so they are since Guderian mechanised them Jäger units so light inf.
      But since they like I said originally were normal Grenadiers they didn't start using the lowest light inf rank Jäger but kept the rank Grenadier and contuined using the paradestep. So the Pzgren and the Wbtll traditionally would be the only ones to do the paradestep.

  • @Chiron84

    @DavBlc7 Another source said that the chinese train for one year if they have a major parade coming up, I think this is more accurate. I know for a fact and from my own experience that proper training for public military appearances takes ages, and there's just so much else that needs to be done in a modern combat or support unit.

Are there no better uniforms there than those resembling the former Communist police in Poland? From reading history I know that hey used to have really good uniforms and that they KNEW how to march on a parade...

    • @comsubpac

      They are all light infantry so a green Barett is what they are supposed wear. The uniform is tailored like nearly every other uniform and the german uniform has been grey for a long time now.
      If you are missing the Stechschritt, light infantry never used it and no band ever marched that way.
