  • Antique textures with little dabs of neon: one tends to think of Igor Stravinsky as modern and dissonant, but here he borrows from18th century Italian composer, Pergolesi, (1710-1736). An additional flute (Judy Dines!) adds brilliance and bustle to the seven baroque-themed movements of the suite.
    With Judy Dines, flute
“COLOURS, orchestral transcriptions for flute and piano” was recorded in the Moores Opera House at the University of Houston with with recording engineer Brad Sayles. My musical partner for this project was Houston Symphony colleague, Scott Holshouser, who magically recreates an entire orchestra for me with his piano playing.
Music by Debussy, Bartok, Barber Martin, Griffes and Stravinsky.
