Hi, me again. For those who're still looking to get one, I'd say DO SO !! I was gifted a NEON in September 2016 for my birthday by my parents. Haven't used it much since, but the last couple of weeks I'm back in the game with my livesets (both at my label studio as at gig) and I'm having so much fun with it. In my record label studio I've got the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 and although it has drumpads on the controller itself, I do like to use the NEON over the controller. I'm so glad I got this back then. Love it. It's a great addition, even if you've got, lets say, a DDJ-RX (which I use from time to time at gigs), because it's kind of mobile. I thought of getting a stand for it, but it's so light I just hook it up on USB and hold it in my hand. I often get great replies from the crowd at gigs or when people are over at our studio for this gimmick.
I plan on using this with my ns6 which I love it just lacks the modern functions of serato dj. I have been debating on the ddj - sp1 for some time now but couldn't justify that pioneer price, Now here comes reloop to save the day!!!!
I find out you could use it with ableton as music production controller & map it + coustomiz too ableton in your midi settings since Reloop Neon midi controller which means you can use with any music production software or any dj software out their
I just got one to add to my Vestax VCI-380. I was hoping to trigger the SP6 with it while keeping the pads on the 380 assigned to functions like hot cues and slicer. When i engage sampler mode on the Neon it changes the pads on deck 1 to sampler as well. How can i stop it from doing that?
hey sorry for the comment 8 years late haha. I have just purchased this equipment, how would I go about adding drum sounds to the sampler section as you mentioned around 1:40?
Question Phil, Can I use the Reloop with my Rane TTM-57 using Scratch Live or does the Reloop only work with Serato DJ? Thanks so much for your fantastic work with your videos! There are very helpful and fun to watch. Cheers, John
Thanks for the review Phil! I recently just purchased this to go along with my setup. Im using Serato with dvs . I noticed this review is from 6 years ago. Has anything better come along since that you would recommend? I have the Denon x1850 mixer and I was basically just looking for something to let me use loops and access my Hotcues in Serato.
I like the looks of this! Along with the recent news about the DVS expansion, and the Akai modular controllers(which I think also had flip controls on the AFX), I'm starting to think that I'll eventually get to try DVS in Serato. Still hoping for a Serato equivalent to the Z2 from NI. I downloaded Traktor to try the demo and while it seems nice, I just don't think that it's a good fit for me. Nice review!
2 questions : can you choose wich deck you want to control ( 1,2,3 and 4 ) ? can you start a track with this ? because with the ddj sp1 you can`t start a trak i think thats very sad
friend! that is how I sync my samplers in sp6 with the music? just tried pressing the sync button and it is not perfect ... wish my samplers, perfect fit together with the track currently playing on the deck! can help me with a video tutorial? I am using serato dj neon and reloop
dose it have a traktor mapping for this controller like the x1 has for serato it really sucks to see that serato has so much more controller spacilly in the las 2 years traktor controllers are getting more and more limited
cant believe i missed this piece. an awesome addition to my dvs setup!
Enjoy!

That's great to hear, thanks very much for the feedback! :-)

6 years later is this still worth getting

this looks to be a great supplement to a cheaper DJ controller
in terms of performance (the one that has more features) which would be better to buy. The Reloop Neon for serato OR the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 for serato?
Question Phil,
Can I use the Reloop with my Rane TTM-57 using Scratch Live or does the Reloop only work with Serato DJ?
Thanks so much for your fantastic work with your videos! There are very helpful and fun to watch.

It's a simple enough job and this still does it well, so you've chosen well Eyes2See.
How do you connect the reloop neon? I have a numark mixdeck and run serato on me mac book pro?
It's an official Serato DJ accessory, so should be easy enough to just plug and play (via the Neon's USB)
Its not plug and play on my Serato dvs set up ?
Great review Phil!
Thanks for the great vid!
Does Reloop offer anything other than flip mode that the DDJ SX can't do?

do i need to buy 2 for my cd's or can i jump from deck to deck?
2 questions :

Yes you can choose decks, no you can't start a track, there are no transport controls. You can play Flips, though.
though there is a trax encoder and the option to load tracks on the decks you cant start them ? :/

wish my samplers, perfect fit together with the track currently playing on the deck!
can help me with a video tutorial?
I am using serato dj neon and reloop
Align your beat grids so sync will work right
Tell me, please, would i be able to hook it up with my promixer platinum?
Not sure on that one, it's just a midi controller so you could get it working with most setups
Mr Morse! Could you make a review of the Numark NV please?
Does anyone know if the Reloop Neon can be used as a drum machine midi controller for Ableton Live? Is it strictly, only for Serato DJ?
Nah, it's a Midi controller so you can map it to Ableton if you wish.
dose it have a traktor mapping for this controller like the x1 has for serato it really sucks to see that serato has so much more controller spacilly in the las 2 years traktor controllers are getting more and more limited
phil when you gonna test the traktor s8???
will serato remote have flip
I want one now.
Where can I buy it?
i got it on ebay, dont think it is manufactured anymore - picked mine up not too expensive. decent piece of kit !
This or the Akai AFX? Two cheap ad-on controllers for nearly the same price.
I have same question :D
this is better for samples/cues (and has a few more features) anf the afx is better for fx
First+ nice video! Looks pretty cool:)
work on Serato Scratch Live ??
