I just want one person to present a legitimate argument as to why we shouldn't trust Hugh Freeze's decisions with regards to the quarterback position. Cause I haven't seen one yet.

Because He said that we was going to have an open QB battle but we didn't. He also said he was going to call plays but Im heard Nix will either share that duty or be the sole play caller.

Hugh looked at the cost at getting Cam vs what it would have cost him in surrounding weapons and decided it was better to build than to blow it all on one guy who isn't even a guarantee that he will be better - C5
It's unfortunate, but we have "fans" who want to see Payton fail. They're a pretty sick and petty group, but here they are, wearing their Auburn caps. I don't know what their motivation is and I really don't care. I hope Payton disappoints every one of those negative detractors. Payton Thorne has the tools, the experience, the knowledge and the ability to be a really good QB. Last season, he didn't have the supporting cast to showcase all the things he's capable of. This time around everything is different. The offensive coaching staff is on the same page, the WR room has experienced a massive upgrade, we have an OL that can protect the QB and open lanes for the RBs. Those are just a few reasons for optimism. I have faith in CHF who has faith in Payton Thorne, and I think he made the right decision. This season will look much, much better than last season. I'm excited to see what they can accomplish this fall. War Damn Eagle!

Hell yes Hugh made a good choice that million dollar qb definitely wouldn’t be able to play like a million dollars if he doesn’t have good players blocking or catching his passes

It's important that Hugh made the decision to rebuild the roster primarily through HS recruiting. So he intends to take fewer and fewer portal guys to fill holes. That includes recruiting at qb rather than through the portal. He and the staff seem to have keyed on Juju Lewis. Some ask what that could mean for others in that room. Imo Walker White and Hank Brown are the kind of guys who'd welcome the competition.

I think the offense was broken more than just Thorne last year and we've fixed a lot of those issues or at least made them much more competitive. He's shown with a good system and weapons he can be a good QB. I don't really think that's even up for debate - C5
Led the SEC in INT while sharing time. Quite the accomplishment
P T has to get a different mindset. I remember him against T a&m taking the snap and ducking out without a look downfield. I also remember seeing receivers open and he never saw them. Those things must go. He will have a couple of games early to shine. If he doesn't, I say bring the baby goat.
Guys don’t forget that this report is a marketing tool… if PT can get a plate and a Mill then those 4star and 5star future QBs will be very interested when they can see numbers like that.

Hugh seems to have figured out how to allocate resources in this new NIL/portal world. He’d rather roll with what we have and throw that bag at Juju or portal guy next year if the right one shows up. Would love for one of the young guys to be ready though.

Pearl seems to be losing it he didn’t bring in 1 big kid from HS or a 6-8to 6-10 defensive rebounder from lower level program.Guards are solid but Broome and Caldwell are not enough they’ll foul out every game.

Your best players should play 30 to 35 minutes unless you are just balls to the wall on full court press and half court defense. Also, academics should never be an issue with a transfer. Academic departments have tons of discretion on the courses they approve for transfer. Bobby Lowder wouldn't have put up with that. Get serious about championships or stop talking about them.
"Academics" thrown under one umbrella with no context...then saying we should just be able to handle it is not a fair argument and in no way a reflection of anything on Auburn - C5
