@@DreamHabits_ I personally don't recommend jumping to a 24oz right away. You might get injured. Go for the 16oz for the first 3 months, then when you change to the 24oz.

10oz for fights, pad work, heavy bag. 16oz for sparring and heavy bag work. I alternate between the two for heavy bag work 16oz for smashing the bag hard and 10oz for building up my hand speed.
Personally I use 12 I think 16s can be great too for building up endurance the 12s are just closer to 8-10 what you would fight with. For technique I usually go only hand wraps and a lighter/softer heavy bag
I alternate my gloves depending on what I want to work on. But for sparring always 16, bag work I change it up from fight gloves up to 16oz gloves just depends on what I want to use, I certainly do like hitting the bag with smaller gloves though 8oz 10oz. Especially with bag mitts response is so good and perfect to condition your knuckles. I have all sizes except 12 oz lol. Bag mitts 8oz, 10oz, 14oz and 16oz.
The heaviest glove is the best for faster punch’s if your in a match and you have been using heavy glove but you your using light gloves now in the match your punch’s are going to be quick
@@_alessandro_6792 that’s probably from improper technique and not enough wrist support from the hand wraps. I had the same problem when I first started
Smaller gloves helps with accuracy on mitts, helps condition the hands, you get much more feedback on your punches and because you are using smaller gloves you are more concerned about making sure your punches have proper placement and form so you don’t hurt yourself. Just like a fight
Punching with 14 and 16 oz is very difficult. Because the gloves are very heavy, they provide a lot of resistance when you punching. 10 oz is the most ideal and offical. But if you want to make your punches faster and more explosive, 14 and 16 oz are necessary, if you want to be more powerful, 10 oz or 8 oz are good because they have less density and the power goes directly to you
I’ve struggled to find anything below 16oz that can fit my hands (that doesn’t cost a fortune). I’m sure they’re out there, but since I only box as a hobby and not competitively, I don’t want to spend too much
I know that gloves can make you think you are protected and that allows you to hit harder making you more likely to be injured when punching. My question is, is there a correlation between glove weight and injuries? The thought here is that boxers usually end up with more hand injuries than MMA fighter, which drops even further in bare-knuckle due to the idea that you can hit harder because you won't hurt yourself as much with more padding. I would assume that the lightest with the least padding for your hand would be the most damaging but then you hit harder if you have more padding which means the heaviest should be at greater odds of injuries. P.S. I hope you all have a fantastic day and stay safe.

You need all sizes, you should have a pair of light gloves , a pair for sparring…. I collect gloves and just switch out , keeps it fun, fun is good, plus look good, feel good, perform better! 8, 10-12s for technique (mitt work) 14-16 when you have sore hands or doing partner work drills, sparring …. When you train with really heavy gloves you don’t become fast, you just develop bad habits like dropping the hand after a jab, or falling over….. when you have heavy gloves and you lunch slow, it can be discouraging and make you not want to come back to work out, your work out gear should inspire you to work out! 16oz for sparring and 10oz or 12oz for bag and official fights. Heavier gloves protect the wrist better too.

With 10 oz you can't hit full force on 27,5 kg bag without hurting your knuckles fingers. My other bag 64 kg 150 cm even 12 oz are small .
8oz helped with conditioning my knuckles and throwing correct punches. Noticed that grip strength is increased too
for sure bro that will definitely condition those hands, not much padding in those 8 oz
