I live very near to Slinger Wisconsin. According to the Wisconsin historical society, “The original settlement in this area was started by a man named B. Schleisinger Weil in the 1840's. He named the town after himself, but by 1921, area residents were tired of saying they were from "Schleisingerville", so they petitioned to shorten the name to "Slinger". There you go…
